On January 15, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima hosted the traditional New Year reception, which is held each year for Dutch guests. The reception took place at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. The King and Queen received several hundred guests from politics and public administration, and from various sectors of Dutch society. In addition, representatives from the worlds of entertainment and sport have been specifically invited this year.
Princess Beatrix, Princess Margriet and Pieter van Vollenhoven were present at the reception. A traditional second new year reception will be held on January 16 for foreign diplomats and representatives of international organizations based in the Netherlands.

Please realize this is the queen upon arrival at the royal palace; she will re-dress for the reception of which in general no photos are being published
ReplyDeleteYes, I recall that this was the case in past years as well. She and the other lady royals dress up once they are in the palace and no photos are shown (or rarely are shown).
Delete- Anon 9:13
You are the only one worrying about that
Delete@Anonymous 161/24/07:17: not worrying at all, 'au contraire'; just hoping to prevent loads of comments about the queen being too casual dressed for the occasion (and it worked!)
Delete@Anon 7:17 Sadly, it needs to be said because people are so quick to find fault--especially with Maxima.
DeleteReally, @Anonymous 19:44?
DeletePeople (who knows what people you are talking about?😂) are so quick to find fault- especially with Maxima.
Fancy that.
Yes, gonna take note, thank you.
Let us wait for the gowns and jewels. Pss Beatrix looks lovely. css
ReplyDeleteI love these relaxed and non staged, non-fancied-up photos of the King and Queen. They appear to be such nice people above all!
ReplyDeletePss Beatrix, looked lovely, so elegant, always smiling and engaging. Queen Max, the same.
ReplyDeleteJ'aime beaucoup ces photos prises sur le vif ; la princesse Beatrix est pétillante avec une petite touche d'élégance !
