On January 22, 2024, King Willem-Alexander, accompanied by Queen Maxima, presented the Order of the House of Orange to Janine van den Ende at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. The Order of the House of Orange has been awarded to Mrs Van den Ende for her efforts for the More Music in the Classroom Foundation, in which she and her husband Joop van den Ende have been involved for almost ten years.
The order was created by Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands on March 19, 1905, and is granted at the sole discretion of the King of the Netherlands, without the influence or responsibility of any Minister. Joop van den Ende also received the Cross of Honor in the House Order of Orange in 2007, as a thank you for his great services in the context of the silver jubilee of the then Queen Beatrix.
Magnifique dans cette robe de couleur fuchsia ; l'apport de la touche corail des boucles d'oreilles et du collier ne l'avantage pas du tout ; est-ce une impression mais Maxima aurait-elle minci ?!
ReplyDeleteAnd @Anonym 15:29 raised the same question about a little weight loss.
DeleteMaybe it’s been Maxima’s New Year resolution to lose a kilo or two.
But quick, we’d better leave it at that otherwise we’ll have the body shaming police knocking on our door with handcuffs in their hands.
Agree with you both. I'm a day late here and the body shaming police appear not to have got you yet, Deadeggs. :-)
DeleteBut AnnieM, there’s been a strange looking black car with dark tinted windows driving up and down my street.
DeleteI pinned a notice on my front door .............
“gone fishing for the week-end with my hubby”.
Love the dress: model and colour with a little twist in the collar or is it a necklace? Maxima's hair could be better like most of the time. And can Willem Alexander pls get rid of his two coloured ( grey and red) beard. Looks so shabby ( sorry)
ReplyDeleteThe beard … I imagine he keeps it because he likes it! Seems fair enough! - AnneLise
DeleteI agree, Queen Maxima looks very good and yes King Willem Alexander should definitely cut his beard.
Deletemjt
I said the same about King Felipe not a long time ago. Not because his beard is not well trimmed, but because it is too white. He makes me think of a big dwarf and would look younger without his beard. King Willem Alexander has a different type of beard a mix of red and blond I think not so much grey, but he would perhaps look younger too without it. I find his beard more sexy than King Felipe's.
Delete@Anon 09:24 You SHOULD be sorry for your comment about W-A's beard. Why in the world should the man "get rid of his two coloured (grey and red) beard"? Exactly what do you object to? A beard with more than one shade of hair? One or both colors? Beards in general? If you feel it photographs "shabby", do go to see him in person to discuss the matter. Let him know that as nature takes its course and greys his bread as he ages, as with all men, you are feeling personally bothered by this. He seems like a very friendly and accommodating sort of man. I think if you ask nicely, he would be happy to "get rid" of his beard just for you no matter how much he may like it. Good luck and let us know how it goes! If successful, you can stop by to lend support to Anon 13:14 while she has the same discussion with Felipe.
DeleteIf we can discuss the hairstyle of the queens why we cannot discuss the beard of the kings. It is just a matter of liking and not liking just as the length of their trousers or dresses. Personally I prefer a beard on younger men. But older men can look good with a beard too. Just like older queens can look good with long hair and other look better with short hair. For me they do not have to shave their beard you know. It is them who have to like it and it is also fine with me. I am not a difficult person. If everyone likes the same the world would be perhaps more peaceful but also very boring.
DeleteBeautiful dress but I don´t like the bib. I don't know if it part of the dress or a piece jewellery but it is unnecessary. I would also choose a burgundy, black or navy purse with this nice fuchia coloured dress.
ReplyDeleteQM looks like a candy cane in pink, I think pink pumps would be a better match.
ReplyDeleteKW-A better wears a pink tie to match ( but not pink socks!).
Love the amount of earrings of Maxima for every occasion she can choose one and her daughters can loan one.
And for the hair begin 2024 with new intensions ( no extensions and no delay).

King Willem Alexanders does wear a pink tie, only a different kind of pink than Queen Maxima's dress. As a matter of fact I never saw Queen Maxima with pink shoes. She must have several pairs in that cognac brown because she wears them since a long time and with a lot of colors.
DeleteKW-A is always well-groomed and well-dressed. He wears appropriate shoes, his suit jacket does not strain at the buttons, and his pant legs are just the right length. His apparel is neither flamboyant nor overly casual. The beard suits him, and for many men is a way to camouflage a sagging neck, which we all get as we age. He is one fine-looking man.
ReplyDeleteMax is her usual bouyant self, although she has lighter make up on, which may be the reason for her looking tired to me. She doesn't seem to be fighting the aging process as much as some other royal ladies and non-royal ladies, which surprises me. In her shoes, I would definitely be getting professional aesthetic treatment. S.M.
She has the right to look tired, she is a very busy woman. Since the beginning of this month she was in the States for the U.N. after that she went to Davos for the Economic Forum and she also did some visits in the Netherlands. I don't think she ever used botox or fillers either. When she uses bronzer on her cheeks she receives comments on this blog that she is exaggerating with her make-up. I know she loves the sun and I assume she is protecting herself against it, but one can't be careful enough.
DeleteI did not recognize Maxima in these photos. It may be the dress but she looks like she lost quite a bit of weight. I hope she is well. Too many royals have been falling ill lately.
ReplyDeleteFabulous pink! Frieda
ReplyDeleteBoth the King and Queen look great in these photos. The King’s suit is well cut and he looks very polished. Love the bright pink in January on the Queen with the more warm accessories to match the season.
ReplyDeleteI do not care for the brown accessories with the pink dress. Same bad hair.
ReplyDeleteLady M
Pink the color of the day. Maxima looks lovely. css
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful pink Fuchsia color, gorgeous dress, the Queen looks fabulous here. The pearl bracelet is a nice addition.
ReplyDeleteI am sure we never talked so much about king's or prince's suits, trousers, shoes, etc...
ReplyDeleteSame bad hair, and the colour of dress is nice, but not with M's natural complexion, nor with brown accessories. Edwina
