On January 7, King Carl Gustaf, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel attended a dinner at Högfjällshotell in Sälen that was held in connection with the Annual National Conference on Society and Defence (Folk och Försvar). The conference focuses on the security of the world, Sweden's defence, security of people and emergency preparations of the society.
Dagmar Dora gold flower dress
It is a bit hard to see clearly on these rather dark pictures but first impression is that I like the dress. The gold colour is good on the CP. The dress seems better fitted on Victoria. It looks dreadfully baggy on the model.
ReplyDeleteMost dresses look dreadful with combat boots.
DeleteAgree with Ladyofthemanor!
DeleteI agree, too - the dress looks like a sack on the model, but it's quite attractive on CPV. Anonymous 16:57 is right that the model's boots don't help.
DeleteOhh, doesn’t Victoria look so very good in that dress for being in winter land and for the occasion. Especially in picture No 3 where you don’t see that the sleeves may be a little little too long. Regarding Daniel and his suits - he should look up the King’s tailor I think. The King’s suits are always impeccable. AC
ReplyDeletePlease, could you tell us which King are you talking about?
DeleteThanks in advance.
Deadeggs, the King, Victoria's father, the one in the pictures! AC
DeleteHRH Prince Daniel looks sad, so sorry for him!
ReplyDeleteI don’t see sadness here … just another smile for another camera at another function after a conference day. He and Victoria look beautifully presented.
DeleteAre you trying to say that perhaps they’re getting divorced?
DeleteBreaking news ……. Breaking news ……..
Have to wonder why: in a nano-second of time, a photo is snapped, and then some anonymous poster on a blog about fashion states the Prince is sad. Curious is it not? Anni
DeletePrince Daniel just doesn't have a natural constant smile. Every once in a while someone will capture him laughing, and you'll see that he is quite happy. The King isn't good at smiling all the time, either.
DeleteVictoria a de l'allure dans cette robe, ce qui est bien mieux que quand elle est portée par le mannequin ; la ceinture ainsi que les chaussures apportent une touche élégante !
ReplyDeleteI don’t think he’s sad, maybe just looks sad as this is not his familiar context…..even though he’s been around for a long time now he hasn’t gotten used to these events. C
ReplyDeleteOne of the CP's better styles and looks. Quite nice. Earrings go well with the dress and it needs no further adornment.
ReplyDeleteLike this dress. It's a bit different from CP Victoria's usual style but suitably festive for a formal dinner. The fact that Prince Daniel isn't beaming from ear to ear is not sufficient to make him sad. His father in law rarely favours us with a massive grin but we don't assume he's sad!
ReplyDeleteThe outline of the dress is good, I like the dress design, but the gold flower pattern I dislike. The black hose and shoes are a good choice. Her makeup is very natural looking.
ReplyDeleteNo one can smile 24 hrs. a day. One doesn't smile every time, someone comes up with some nonsense. Enjoy the pics. Victoria looks good wearing this dress. css
ReplyDeleteThis dress is a miss for me.
ReplyDeleteBoth Carl-Gustaf and Daniel are looking good. The king has still a tan, which makes it even better. Victoria is radiant, and wears the dress much better than the modem. I like the pattern and the colours but not the design.
ReplyDeleteHigh neck looks boring, the width and the length of the sleeves gives an impression of sloppiness. However Victoria has such a great posture and outshines that.
CP is lovely in the Dagmar creation. It brings a vivid bright spot to an rather 'dark', as in lack of colour of the other participants. Edwina
