Isabel Marant Etoile Blue Tomia Midi Dress in Denim
En compagnie de ses charmantes filles, la reine Rania est vraiment belle dans cette robe bleue en denim ; j'adore ce modèle que j'aimerais voir plus souvent !
ReplyDeleteI especially like the way her denim shirt dress is pleated around the waist. I am glad that Queen Rania does not feel compelled to wear sarongs or head scarves. She has such beautiful hair! FITZHUGH
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful sportive denim dress and the daughters are looking cool as well. It's remarkable that Rania, as an emancipated woman, is wearing no headscarf. However most of the women she meets in general are wearing them. It's a pity that all this beautiful hair is hidden and it's also not very healthy for your hair.
ReplyDeletebe happy that she and her daughters have a choice. So many women do not.
DeleteOn the subject of head coverings, while the practice is often mandated by religion and/or culture, in certain societies it is also a woman's choice whether to wear one or not, and the reasons for either are both personal and varied to the individual.
DeleteSecondly, it is only in public that we know that a head scarf is worn when we see it; however behind closed doors, or in privacy where women congregate together, it is reasonable to assume that the headscarves come off and the hair is lovingly and lusciously cared for.

@Anon 9:13 You say where women congregate together, their headscarves may come off. Am I safe in assuming that women must wear headscarves in the presence of men?
Delete@Golightly: Yes. In some circles and in some traditions, it is believed that the origin of wearing head scarves (and other more fuller head and face coverings) was so as not to distract men, nor tempt them by their beauty. (I offer no opinion nor judgement, just what I've been told). Therefore when out of the presence of men, women were free to dress as they pleased - in their own company. While I was traveling in Jordan, I was told this by a female walking tour guide who herself didn't wear a head scarf and who pointed out intricately carved window screens on the upper floors of apartment buildings through which women within the building who were dressed without being covered up, could look out on the street without being seen by street passersby. It was OK for a woman's husband to see his wife without a headscarf within their own home, if she so chose. Again, this may not apply to all origins of the custom, but only to some.

This demin dress is lovely, a bit unusual. I love the pleating adding interest, she looks very elegant.
ReplyDelete@ Golightly, is your question rhetorical? Otherwise I am surprised that you should use this forum and request that another participant school you in regards to Muslim religion and societal practices .
ReplyDeleteGreat look for Q Rania. Her daughters are a delight to watch. css
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned, the designer of the denim shirt dress is Isabel Marant.
DeleteOf French origins, she is noted for her minimalist designs and luxury bohemian styles.
Her name in the fashion industry has been around for about 30 years.
I love princess Iman’s outfit best.
