New official photos of King Frederik and Queen Mary have been released. These became the first official photos of the King and Queen after their succession. The portraits were taken by photographer Dennis Stenild in the Throne Room at Christiansborg Palace a week ago.
One photo shows King Frederik X and Queen Mary with the heir to the throne, Crown Prince Christian. The other photo shows King Frederik and Queen Mary with all their children, that is, Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
Queen Margrethe II abdicated on January 14, the 52nd anniversary of her reign, and was succeeded immediately by King Frederik on this date.
Such a beautiful family! C
ReplyDeleteMary loves him again!
ReplyDeleteHow do you know she stopped doing so?
Delete@Anon 14:18
DeleteOh no! you're back again.
Somebody forgot to lock the door.
Sounds as if you’ve been reading another Barbara Cartland’s fairy tale book for young, giggly girls.
Ah bon, pourquoi encore ? Vous avez l'air d'en douter !
DeleteI think the book that King Frederick recently wrote dispelled any of those rumors. The tribute he gave his dear wife for being his co-pilot and standing by him speaks volumes.....Lets stop those thoughts and support a loving couple who obviously love each other very much! FITZHUGH
Delete14:18 stop the bs. Just admit you believed the medias narrativ and leave it with that.
DeleteOh, hello, @ Anonymous.
DeleteHow nice to hear from you!
I see you' re delving into rumours over the Danish reigning couple' s marriage.
I am sure they love each other deeply, so don't be alarmed..
I bet that you are badly in need of something wrong in their marriage you can relate to.
Charlene is your main target but Mary is getting more and more another of those favourite marks you think you can hit any time resorting to the most ridiculous creations of your over active imagination.
Pity, you are fooling yourself.
Oh, to fashion now.
Isn't Queen.Mary simply spectacular in her dazzling white ensemble?
All of them look gorgeous indeed!
What a sensational day It was!
And CP Christian looks so handsome, classy, dignified and above all sooo TALL!
Note:
It seems you' re repeating yourself on many posts so I have to think:
could your incremental repetions be due to a memory issue?
You always keep stressing the fact that royal ladies and lately also royal gentlemen look older than their age.
Could age be an issue to you too?
Christian is so tall!
ReplyDeleteSure he is, especially when you see him next to his father, who is shorter than Queen Mary.
DeletePrincess Isabella looks like one of her mother's sisters. Such a sweet!
ReplyDeleteI think she looks like Frederick with not much Mary in her at all. We all see things differently. Very pretty young lady though…
DeleteIsabella resemble her handsome father, the king!
DeleteI find Isabella takes more from her father’s side, especially when young Queen Margrethe. Josephine is definitely the spitting image of her mother.
DeleteBeautiful and regal. A modern fairytale!
ReplyDeleteUna bella famiglia. Ma perché sulla terza foto Mary si aggrappa così a Frederik? Non credo voglia scappare...
ReplyDeleteRossella
On these pictures I can clearly see Princess Isabella's red dress. It is a lovely dress that suits her very much. I thinks she is wearing a pair of shoes belonging to her mother. I saw Queen Mary with these shoes on this blog.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics!!! King Fred and QMar looks so regal. The photos with their children are wonderful--they are a beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Great photos. I think the white dress is superb and the shawl adds the right amount of elegance. Nice to see the girls raiding their mother's closet. Isabella has her mother's Valentino shoes on and Josephine a Prada coat.

Queen Mary following Queen Sophia's path
ReplyDeleteWho is queen sophia?
DeleteQueen Sophia of Spain.
DeleteI won’t lie!was hoping to see photos of QM in one of the new tiaras at her disposal! When Maxima and Mathilde took on the role of Queen Consort, they released some beautiful photographs of them in their respective tiaras!Maybe I’ll put that in the ‘looking forward to!’ column!Bea
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to maybe see her on the balcony but I think she is letting them have their moment now! FITZHUGH
DeleteMay I ask at everybody who is using frequently the abbreviation QM to stop this. With all the Queens whose name start with an "M" I sometimes don't know about which queen the story goes.
DeleteAlso other abbreviations that are quite clear for some of the bloggers cannot be understood by people on this blog who are not British.
@ 7:55
DeleteI hear you! I am oftentimes confused too, due to the sheer amount of royal ladies whose names start with M: Maxima, Mathilde, Mary, Mette-Marit, several of which have now ascended the thrown, and they will all be "QM" in the end - a short form previously used for the historic Queen Mary and the Queen mother. There are further royals also starting with an M (Madeleine, Marie, Mabel, MΓ€rtha-Louise), so the abbreviation PM has been and will remain equally confusing. Not to mention that PM is commonly used for Prime Ministers as well, and there are instances when various PMs are featured here as well.
I have also found myself confused whether CP is crown prince or Carl-Philip, whether PI refers to Isabella or Ingrid, whether L is Leonor or Letizia etc.
The worst is probably HM which has been everything from Her/His majesty, to Harry&Megan to the brand H&M.
Best to just spell out the whole name to make it easier for everyone to follow.

DeleteI love Mary's dress. Only hope some of the high street/chain stores make knock offs. Mary
ReplyDeletePrimark have a replica
DeleteWhat beautiful photos. A lovely family. I love that the standout colours are those of the Danish flag.
ReplyDeleteAnnieM
I guess we can assume this is not another cut and paste job of the twins.π
ReplyDeleteMary's dress is beautiful, perfect for the occasion. Christian is so tall and the perfect posture. A fine looking young man.
ReplyDeleteI wish they included the hounds in the photos
ReplyDeleteSo, where are the “length-of-the-skirt” police today?
ReplyDeleteI’m glad it’s not the Duchess of Edinburgh (Sophie) wearing this lovely dress.
Otherwise ............
Maybe they don’t work at week-ends π
Well we know the royal ladies are treated differently. What is perfect for some royals others are beheaded for π
DeleteOh, dear @ Deadeggs.
DeleteCome on, do you really expect that the same person acting out as the local hem length Police Station should understand the upper class bon ton clothes lenghts rules like we do?
I remember you reported something about that( wearing long skirts/ dresses) found on a magazine and yes, those rules really exist in some high society and royal circles in some corners of the world.
BUT, I have to add that ,as much as I belong to the upper crust, I would be blamed for wearing my mini skirts and mini dresses not to mention my high heeled pointed pumps even at home.
Then, according to the blog Police strict rules, my blondeur would be treated with a pair of scissors in no time and my makeup would be torn to pieces, alas!
I would be labelled as the "bad girl"
or the rebel of the lot, I suppose.
I would be shot down in flames too π

DeleteI remember when Queen Maxima wore her coat over her shoulders on two occasions.
ReplyDeleteShe got shot down in flames.
When Queen Letizia wore her coat over her shoulders, silence.π€
Fantastic look. css
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and lovely family. And yes, a fairytale between King Frederik and Queen Mary π€
