As UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, Queen Maxima is making a two-day visit to New York and Washington DC. On January 12, the Queen met with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and World Bank President Ajay Banga, at the IMF headquarters in Washington. The Queen also attended a working meeting with members of the UNSGSA Reference Group.
Elegant ! Lovely km

DeleteAnother smart business like and entirely appropriate outfit for Queen Maxima. Glad she's stuck with her heels to give the outfit an elegant look.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Maxima! - AnneLise
ReplyDeleteI really like her dress and her hairstyle. She looks great.
ReplyDeleteI have a skirt made like that dress, same shade of grey with a pattern/plaid.
ReplyDeleteI think the black pin/broach would look much better at the waist of the dress where the pleating and draping of the fabric meet. Giving the illusion that it's what's holding it all in place.
Love this suggestion. Feels like what these blog comments should be about generally … all kind, interesting suggestions, no personal critique on humans who are just doing their best. Thank you! A-L
DeleteVery good suggestion about the broach. It seems a bit heavy and is pulling at its present location. I think the dress is great!
DeleteThank you anonymous 06:35. That's why I miss the "satirical splendor" blog/site so much. :(
DeleteI want to like this dress but something about the high waist, the fit, and the way it drapes on Maxima is holding me back. But I do like the black and white fine check and the simple but effective black rosette. The overall look is smart and business-like.

DeleteApparently there are a lot of bloggers here who are obsessed by a high waist. Queen Maxima does not have a high waist and her dress has not a high waist either. At least the pattern of her dress seems to be accepted which was not the case with Queen Mathilde's pant suit yesterday. QMax. is not afraid to try something else from time to time.
She cannot be described as boring.
@Anon 07:52 I'm one of Maxima's biggest fans and I've adored and supported her fun, daring and sometimes OTT styling ever since she became Queen, when others have been critical. But I don't much care for this dress on her, other than the fact that it is smart and business-like and very suitable for the day and event she is at. I'm not obsessed with high waists either. I'd rather see Mathilde in this dress.

The Queen looks great…beautiful dress with an interesting draping detail and love the brooch for some more interest.
ReplyDeleteFantastic in all ways! Beautiful dress, happy and dynamic working woman. And she looks so genuinely happy! C
ReplyDeleteToday's visit at the UN, Maxima looks stunning from head to toe. css
ReplyDeleteClassy!
ReplyDeleteLovely dress. You can tell she is in her element there. Such a smart lady!

Very stylish outfit on the Queen.
ReplyDeleteMaxima a une magnifique silhouette dans cette jolie robe ; sa broche originale apporte une touche élégante !
ReplyDeleteLovely indeed.

QMax looks elegant here--again a simple dress--and I think she looks terrific. One issue I have with the dress is the drapey fabric. Sorry but just not a fan of this style feature--I think this dress would have looked better without it. Never been a fan of the brooch she's wearing--I always wish she had left it home. But her hair is perfectly styled and I do really like what I am seeing overall.

Queen Max looks fabulous, I love the addition of the brooch.
ReplyDeletePerfect! Only some lipstick is missing. Without her face looks a little pale...

Gray is definitely not a good color for her. The black blob of a brooch is out of place, but at least her unhealthy hair is up.
