Danish Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and their two children, Count Henrik and Countess Athena, reside in Washington. On December 16, 2023, the Danish Royal Court released new photos of Prince Joachim and his family, with their Christmas greeting. The family gathered for an early Christmas dinner. The photos show the family with their dog Cerise.
In a very short time, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, Count Henrik and Countess Athena will travel to Denmark from Washington D.C. to spend Christmas holidays with family and friends.
Charmante la première photo que la cour royale danoise a voulu publier en faisant participer l'adorable petit chien Cerise ; je ne sais pas si elle est récente car peut-être qu'elle a été prise avant leur départ de Paris pour Washington D.C.
ReplyDeleteThey look so happy, living in much more simplicity and humility than had they stayed in Denmark. I hope it is a life they love, that has meaning and joy. - AnneLise
ReplyDeleteAgree. They look happy and relaxed!
DeleteA lovely Christmas card ! Happy vibes from a lovely family.
ReplyDeleteAren't they a nice family, all looking so happy and symphathetic. C
ReplyDeleteWhy does every picture that is taken recently of a royal or aristocratic family is considered as a Christmas card ? The only Christmas card I have seen until now is the one of King Charles and Queen Camilla (there one saw clearly the text with the wishes).
ReplyDeleteAlright, so you can’t see what is the most important thing of Christmas, e.g. family and joy ?
DeleteA pity …
Personally i appreciate the happy faces, and relaxed atmosphere from the Royal family in Europe except the 2 formal from the British. Only personal opinion, not saying it’s right.

@ Jen. Did I say I did not like the pictures or video's from the royal families in Europe ? I do not like the black and white picture with the missing finger either, nor do I like a reminder of the coronation pictures. I just remarked that this year compared to previous years, we just saw 1 Christmas card with the text of the wishes that's all. Maybe there will be more Christmas cards by the royals this week.
DeleteI always liked this family. I still don't understand why the children had to change their title of prince and princess into count and countess. In other European countries there are also princes and princesses who are not working royals, but have a (good) job like anybody else. Now and then they accompany the royal family on invitation. Sometimes we don't hear a whole year of them. They do not seek attention but live usually a quiet life.
ReplyDeleteThey did not change the titles. Count and countess - they have from their french grandfather (prince Henrik). They have no danish titles because the Queen wanted to slim down the danish monarchy. The children are nevertheless satisfied. Now they can do what they want.
DeleteThese photos aren’t labeled as their Christmas card, but there have been other royal cards released from the Wales family, Belgium, and Monaco.
ReplyDeleteCould you please tell me where I can find at least the Belgian Christmas card ? On Monarchie.be the Belgian royal website I cannot find any. In my news paper I can't either. At the website of VRT (Vlaamse Radio en Televisie) I could not find any Christmas card of the Royal family.
DeleteThis is a lovely family photo. Natural and relaxed.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Ava!
DeleteCozy, intimate shots, great to see!
Always nice to see Marie. The children are really getting to be maybe as tall as their father Joachim. Hope they had a nice dinner it looked great. css
ReplyDeleteIt's fun seeing the family looking happy, and Marie cooking in her very normal looking kitchen. It looks like they have the right priorities.
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo with the dog ,the tree and the family;that is what Christmas is about.Such a lovely family;they will be home with Queen Margrethe ;while Mary and Fred are in Australia(Tara)
