On the first Sunday in Advent 2023, the Danish Crown Prince family, that is, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine decorated 2023 Christmas tree. The family shared a video with the message "Christmas greetings from the Crown Prince family, who recently decorated the family Christmas tree in the Hall of Knights in Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg".

Mary looks so much in love with her husband!

Nice to see Prince Frederik with his family having a dress down, pre Christmas day wearing their comfy, at home, non fashion gear.
I remember reading that it is going to be a Christmas day (2023) with Queen Margrethe for all the family except for one of Prince Joachim’s sons who is in Australia.
Ha, ha…funny!
DeleteWhat a beautiful room!
ReplyDeleteTrès sympathiques ces photos de la famille princière qui sait mettre la main à la pâte pour cette décoration du sapin de Noël !
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteAnd the doggy bringing the Christmas decoration is lovely too.
Mary and Frederik looks so much in love!
ReplyDeleteYes, looks like they found each other again.
DeleteMore like doing damage control. They have to keep up the pretense.
DeleteFor those wondering whether this is staged or natural, lets be honest - this is a photo shoot (actually it is a film shoot), so they had to dress up to look dressed down for the millions around the world watching. If they were to be caught in their natural state of relaxation at home with each other, they'd almost definitely be in sweatpants or casual lounge wear, tee-shirts, fleece or such, and with messy hair, like most young families in Denmark or around the world do when relaxing privately at home, and especially when decorating a Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteThis is a series of vignettes that the Danish Royal House is putting out for each of the 24 days of Advent. On Day 1 it was a cute film of Prince Vincent making aebleskiver with a chef in the kitchen, Day 2 was photos of the library collection in the castle, Day 3 was Q. Margarethe assembling and lighting the first Advent candle, and Day 4 was this film of the tree decorating (google to find the 30sec clip with doggie barking). Today Day 5 is about the official royal Christmas cards from past years.
It's fun to see what inner insights the remaining 19 days will bring.

Dear Anon 9:13
DeleteLove the explanation “they had to dress up to look dressed down”😁
A bit like a yo-yo ….. no?
lol deadeggs :) I had a chuckle myself when I was writing that - but it's true isn't it? Mary looks far too groomed and Isabella's hair is picture perfect for what is supposedly a natural family event without a cameraman present.
Delete"Yo ho ho (yo-yo) and a bottle of rum (and egg nog)" Haha! Happy Christmas!

Thanks for the info about the royal advent calendar with the vignettes. Lovely idea.
DeleteWhat caught my eye was the spick-and-span stepladder they are using. I guess many families have one that is made from aluminum and has a bit of paint spattered on it....theirs looks rather proper and stylish in comparison. :-)
Hey, go a bit easy on the rum bottle dear Anon 9:13.
DeleteWith your quote “to dress up to look dressed down” gives me the impression you’ve been hitting the rum bottle already.😁
@deadeggs: "rum bottleS", not bottle :) :) :)
Delete'tis the season, after all :)

DeleteCutest family ever, and they look pretty “dressed down” to me! Mrs C
ReplyDeleteMary looks lovely, love the jumper. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteLove the videos and photos the DRF share for Advent! We like them and they can be treasures for the family in the years to come. While I know its staged the family still looks like they are having fun decorating the tree. Mary's sweater is beautiful!

The video is excellent. The tree is quite different to the trees we have in Australia.I like the simple decorations baubles and candles. The family look as though they are enjoying themselves.I do like their dog. I do like Josephines jumper.Prince Joachim's son in Australia ;no doubt he will be okay,he may even be out on the Harbour for the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. The weather should be great for the beach(Tara)
ReplyDeleteMary and the twins have left the country. Frederik and Isabella are off too, so only Christian is left to enjoy the tree.
ReplyDeleteThey know how to handle every situation professionally. After all, they are well trained.
ReplyDeleteEn el norte es tradicional poner velas de verdad en el árbol. Se encienden en Nochebuena nada más.
