      In one word “smashing”.
A little change of tone with the makeup?
      Or maybe it’s the lighting.
On Charlene’s left is her brother Gareth Wittstock and his wife Rosisin. He is the Secretary General of the Princess Charlène Foundation.
On her right is Alaimo Giulio, the ambassador for Italy in Monaco.
On her far right is Mme Sandrine Knoell, the organiser of the event.

  8. Wow! Princess Charlène looks fabulous. What a dazzling evening dress. I love this glittering dress which flatters her frame. And the make-up and hairdo are perfect as well.

  9. Perfect make-up, flawless skin. But the winner for me is her hairstyle: short hair suits her, but this is by far the most flattering cut I have seen. Just gorgeous. Finishing off with her signiture designer favourite: a classic silver Akris gown. Exquisite. Amy

  10. Elle est vraiment lumineuse ; je remarque son maquillage qui la met délicatement en valeur et de plus, avec ses boucles d'oreilles, elle est parfaite surtout qu'elle est revenue à son blond initial !

  14. Strange to organize a Christmas ball. In my education we do not associate Christmas with a ball. It is more a family gathering and through the years became an event to do charity and to pray for peace in the world. (It is necessary this year, more than ever). Well it is not Christmas yet and it is to do a fund raising for one of Charlene's projects : The prevention of drowning. I think it is important but with Christmas it is a time to support charity work. Not the prevention of drowning for rich kids. Well this is Monaco I suppose.
Fashion wise she is looking beautiful and her hair and make-up are very beautifully done. The color of her lips is much better than the very unnatural red lips she had at the opening of the Christmas Village a couple of days ago.
We will have our ball with New Year.

    1. Christmas Balls are not unusual. I am afraid you need to educate yourself more. Attending a Christmas Ball does not prevent you from focusing on any of the things you want to focus on in the month of December. You almost reluctantly admit the Ball is for charity. What makes you assume this charity is for the "prevention of drowning for rich kids"? Then blaming it on Monaco! I would say that you are the one that has your heart in the wrong place this Christmas.

    2. The raising of funds to prevent children drowning is to teach poor children in South Africa to swim to prevent drowning. Charlene comes from South Afirica and still runs organisation's here to assist in teaching children to swim. Not for rich kids

    3. Read the explanation above the pictures : it says it is a fundraising for the "prevention of drowning" for kids. People who are living in Monaco are not exactly poor. It is not a question of being not educated like you put it. It is a question of being educated in a different way. There are no Christmas Balls in my town, in my region and I am practically sure not in my country. On the contrary there is a lot of charity fund raising for the poor, the homeless, the displaced persons caused by wars. Those who really need it!

  15. One of Princess Charlene’s BEST looks!!! I love it! Makeup is on point, her hairstyle is modern and feline with the side part, her gown is spectacular (great fit for her), and the jewelry is minimalist which doesn’t take away from the sparkle of the gown. Perfection! Not that she needs it here but I wonder why she never wears a tiara? Do the Monegasque royals own any?

    1. An answer to the tiara question: yes, they do. Charlene herself has two (wedding presents from Albert). Actually the bigger can be transformed to a necklace and the smaller is more like a hairpiece than a traditional tiara. Also Grace had a few, also transformable pieces. And then one which belonged to Rainier's mother. But not much, if one compares with the British - but think about the size of the countries!

    2. Hello Angelia — early in Princess Charlene’s life as a Serene Highness in Monaco, there was much interest in her tiaras ( which as a previous commenter has pointed out, are very “transformable”) — I remember there was even a short documentary about the creation of her “Ocean Tiara” (I’m sure there must be pictures of it online). There was also a great deal of disappointment that she was never seen wearing them except in a modified form. It is true that the ladies in the Monegasque princely family are very seldom seen wearing tiaras; I don’t know the explanation for that, but in Charlene’s case I have concluded that there is just something about tiaras, or about wearing them, that she dislikes. On the fashion blogs at the time of her marriage to Albert, hope was running high that we would be seeing her in the Ocean Tiara (worn as a tiara, not a necklace or hair ornament). But no luck there. — Jane

  19. Sensational! She looks stunning. I don't normally like sparkly gowns, but this one is the exception. The fit is fabulous, the gown suits her well. Love the design and style of this one. Her hair this color is very becoming, her makeup natural and on point. The diamond earrings are lovely and look splendid with the gown, not to compete or look overdone. Her brother, looks handsome and well groomed in his tux. He is a great support to her.

..and I noticed this subtle way of matching two glowing colours, gold in her hair and glittering silver in her gown and also in her earrings( maybe).
      Just spectacular.
