On December 11, 2023, King Carl Gustaf hosted the Royal Dinner for 2023 Nobel Prize Laureates at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia and Princess Christina welcomed the guests at Vita Havet Assembly Rooms. The dinner was served in Karl XI's Gallery.
Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L’Huillier became the recipients of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics. Moungi Bawendi, Louis Brus and Alexei Ekimov received the 2023 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Katalin Kariko and Drew Weissman in Medicine, and Jon Fosse in Literature. Claudia Goldin won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.
Queen Silvia looks fantastic.

Möchte ich bestätigen. Die Königin hat - wie so oft - den Vogel abgeschossen und sieht ungemein elegant aus!

Oh, I really like what I´m seeing here. I think they all look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteVictoria´s gown is so pretty. Seems comfortable, looks fresh and is different. Beautiful take on a black-and-white gown. A stronger lipstick colour would have been good though.
Silvia looks every inch the queen she is. Very regal and elegant look, albeit a bit pale overall. (I wish she had carried the shawl in her hand for the entrance.)
Sofia - I like this colour on her so much better than yesterday´s black number. Very attractive off-the-shoulder neckline. Could have used a necklace though; nothing big, just something.
And Christina is very beautiful here too. She often goes for bigger, kaftan-like dresses with a huge shawl or thin overcoat (like yesterday), but this one is surprisingly different and I like it.
Oooh, after being at the tail end for the banquet, Princess Sofia leaps into first place this time with this gorgeous dress. Simply stunning. I like Princess Cristina's purple and black but not sure about CP Victoria's dress. I'd have preferred it if it was all patterned. Queen Silvia's dress looks lovely but the very pale colour washes her out which is shame. Great Photos from all the Nobel ceremonies. Thank, Helen

ReplyDeletePS: The winner for me this evening. Never thought it would ever happen! Would have wished for a less messy hairstyle and rubies/red stones on top of her tiara, but otherwise, it's a pass.
CPV: Black and white is normally a classy colour combination, but somehow the entire look doesn't work for me. Perhaps the romantic flower skirt and princess style gown? Nice jewellery, as always.
PC: Looks lovely in her embroidered black/purple gown.
QS: Bland gown in a bland colour. Nice jewellery, as always. Some serious fake/real? hair add-ons going on!!!
Amy
Amy, extensions, Sofia has extensions, her hair is shorter! Leo
DeleteAgree with Leo that we may conclude Sofia has hair extensions, but that should not be seen as criticism.
DeleteUmm, Leo, I don't need a lecture on hair extensions. And why bring Sofia into it? I was commenting on Queen Silvias excessive hairstyle, incorporating a large amount of fake/real hair (not her own). You seem to be missing the point - on several parameters. Amy
DeleteThe Queens silvery dress is a perfect complement to those magnificent Leuchtenberg sapphires.. My favourite tiara.
ReplyDeleteLove CP Victoria´s dress. Basically it is a white t-shirt and flowery skirt, but this is a very elegant version. Love the whole idea, fabric, colour and style and the riband and orders heighten the look. Beautiful tiara.
I wish Sofia had put her hair up again.
Sofia has a half up half down style - can only really see it in the final photo. I think it very glamourous indeed. Always hard to tell the whole story from a few pics. - AnneLise
DeleteAnneLise, I would not call this an up-do as there is lots of hair hanging in her face. In my opinion a tiara needs more serious hair. This might be glamorous but it is not royal.
DeleteSofia looks like a moviestar from Hollywood!
ReplyDeleteWow what a beautiful display of gowns and tiaras!!!! Queen Silvia and Princess Christina both look very lovely, I like their looks tonight better than at yesterday's banquet and ceremony. I love Princess Sofia's gown she looks like a fairy tale princess. This had to be one of her best "gala look" in recent times. Crown Princess Victoria's is stunning and she definitely knows how to pull of the Conhaught tiara very well.
ReplyDeleteLovely dresses on the royals, S had also a beatiful dress, red, but the style was ordinary and she had to much long exstensions.leon
ReplyDeletePrincess Sofia for the win!!!! And she has some of the rubies from the vault. Love her whole look!!! Stunning.
ReplyDeleteWow!! The royal ladies look stunning tonight. The queen looks wonderful. Victoria is my least favorite. Sofia is my favorite. I love her hair down. And she wore it up last night. She looks so good in red. She looks like a fairy tale princess.
ReplyDeleteBest dressed during Nobel var the Crown Princess, Princess Sofia and of course Ebba Busch!
ReplyDeleteI will veer from the subject of gowns to add that Daniel is smiling -- a genuine smile! It is such a rare occurrence that I thought it worth a mention.
ReplyDeleteVictoria’s brooch! It’s a new one for me
ReplyDeleteMagnifique reine Sylvia et ravissante princesse Sofia

Queen Silvia looks very lovely. A pity this color of her gown is not becoming to her. It is too pale for her. Strong colors like fuchsia red or cobalt blue are colors which suit her the best. I've also noticed that QS is looking a bit pale lately. Maybe she is just tired and that combined by the light of the camera's don't help either. Her lipstick is less red than usually too. Her jewelry is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteCP Victoria : her dress is not bad but I'd save it for a reception or a ball in the Summer. The effect that is created here of a white bodice and a black and white flower skirt can be lovely in a shorter version too. Jewelry is gorgeous.
Princess Sofia : Beautiful classic red dress. Only a few pieces of jewelry. That is what I prefer.
Princess Christina : very beautiful purple dress. She should stop to mix her diamond jewelry with the yellow gold necklaces she used to wear. With modern jewelry one can take such a risk. With old classic jewelry best stick to one color.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the Queen wore the shawl while walking into the event. In the close up photo of her seated, the gown looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCP Victoria wore another fashion forward gown, understated, yet elegant, vibrant gown.
Sofie's gown was stunning, sadly she allowed the dress to wear her, rather than she wear the dress. Her hair should have been in an upswept style, more natural (not such heavy makeup), long drop earrings, and a brighter pallet of makeup/lipstick would have taken her rather plain look with a lovely dress, to a higher level.
The King's sister, looked lovely again in her chosen gown, really nice to see her with the rest of the family. She was wearing a tiara that Victoria has worn often in the past. The men all looked handsome as ever. Edwina
Your explanation about Princess Sofia is contradictory. On the one hand you pretend that her make-up is too heavy, on the other hand you suggest she should use a brighter pallet of make up and lipstick because she is too pale. Explain your comments better please.
DeletePrincess Sofia looks beautiful, red fits her like a glove, but Queen Silvia wins. It's the image of elegance.
ReplyDeleteAs for CP Victoria, this time her outfit is a no for me.
Princess Sofia!!! Wonderful dress, hair, and jewels. Her tiara is so versatile. She was lovely tonight. The other royal ladies were wonderful too. Lovely to see Daniel smiling.
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe delicate colors of Her Majesty' ensemble are just lovely, with that stupendous historical parure twinkling on her head, and at her throat and ears - I am in awe.
CP Victoria looks SO good in this beautiful gown - good cut, immaculate fit and lovely details. And then there is the Connaught: The MOST beautiful royal tiara in the world in my humble opinion (in the "light and airy" class).
Princess Sophia looks really good here - MUCH better than the Big Nobel banquet. This fits her just perfectly - lovely color. Nicely done!
Pss Sofia's shiny satin red gown is magnificent and her hairstyle calls to mind some noble women paintings of the past, the ones you can see touring Italian castles.
ReplyDeleteSimply regal, pure class, somptous.
Her make-up is perfectly done.
From what I can spot in the third pic, I see that a blending of countouring, baking and strobing techniques was skilfully applied.
It was meant to create a sort of cold, almost icy beauty on her face, faultless, subtly glowing, just superb imo.
I do not like Pss Victoria's gown, sorry.
It has a too summery colour combo and pattern imo, she looks jarring somehow for this occasion and in this context.
Queen Silvia is elegance and sobriety personified.
Wonderful ensemble in cold silvery shades.
Christina looks very good too.
Jaw- dropping jewelry all around.
The gentlemen are smart and well groomed.
Beautiful, I like the red gown on Sofia, she looks stunning and so do the other RL. Elegance and glamour, what else can one ask for. css
ReplyDeleteHRH, Princess Sofia, so charming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
