On November 30, 2023, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium held a royal reception for the newly appointed suppliers of the royal palace, and presented them a 'Royal warrant of appointment' (Brevet van Hofleverancier) at the Royal Palace in Brussels.
Queen Mathilde took part in the Invisible Youth European Summit (I-YES) in the Basilica of Koekelberg. The summit aims to draw attention to the most vulnerable young people, who do not get opportunities or feel disadvantaged.
More than 1,000 young people aged from 15 to 21 years gathered in Brussels to debate fundamental issues such as poverty, bullying at school, inclusion and the fight against discrimination, international solidarity and the climate.
Dries Van Noten blazer and Pants
It's hard to tell if the first outfit is a dress or skirt and top but either way the waist seems a bit too high.
ReplyDeleteThe mustard and grey go well together though.
Agree about the waist. Especially since this effect does not seem to be intended.
DeleteDidn't Maxima wear the same or very similar just a few days ago? To me, it looked better on Max than on Mathilde. Mathilde is very high-waisted.

In fact, it is meant highwaisted.
ReplyDeleteLove, love! the skirt and blouse, beautiful. The pantsuit from what I can see works a treat! Stunning.
ReplyDeleteShe has the best legs!
ReplyDeleteLike the suit also very nice color. The two-tone dress for me is so-so. csss
ReplyDeleteThe trouser suit is a lovely colour and looks good from what we can see. The mustard and grey dress?---sorry no!
ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde is following the trend to repeat a dress that is 7 years old. The mustard and grey color together with her accessories and the shorter hair make it a lovely picture. The new green pant suit by Dries Van Noten looks very good too. The longer blazer is more fashionable. In the Basilica of Koekelberg, a very big building, it must not be very warm with temperatures around 0 degrees Celsius during the day. Looking at the pictures the majority is wearing a coat or a jacket. On Tuesday King Phillipe and Queen Mathilde are leaving for a state visit to Germany. I am curious if she will wear new outfits on this occasion.
ReplyDeleteThe mustard yellow and charcoal grey dress I think is one of Queen Matilda’s best looks. She does have a high waist but this dress is meant to be high-waisted, so it camouflages (flatters) her figure. The clutch and heels finish off the look perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI like the mustard and grey dress on Queen Mathilde. I personally do not prefer the coat-draped-over-the-shoulders look, and it seems like it would be potentially difficult to keep the coat from sliding off. But it seems to be a popular look among royal women.

Did it occurred to you it might be cold in the basilica. If you have been there, you will know what I am talking about. The visit took place on Friday December 1st, a very cold day even in Brussels.
DeleteYes, it had occurred to me it was cold there.
