King Harald received the daughter and son of the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Narges Mohammadi. Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit were also present. Ali and Kiana Rahmani are the son and daughter of Ms. Narges Mohammadi. The ceremony took place before the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Ms. Mohammadi, 51, from Iran was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in October for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and the fight for human rights and freedom for all. Mohammadi, who has campaigned against the compulsory wearing of the hijab and the death penalty in Iran, has been held since 2021 in Tehran's Evin prison.
I get "Kim-yong-un" vibes watching Mette-Marits combo..... Frieda.
ReplyDeleteHaha. My first impression exactly.
DeleteMine too.
DeleteI guess Dior is proud that you call their Caro wool jacket a Kim-Young-un vibe ;)
DeleteQueen Sonja looks so elegant in her purple velvet dress. M-M's outfit is not put together well at all. The trousers are too long and the jacket is too short and boxy. Not really sure why she is dressed so casually either. Hoping for more from the ceremony.

Because MM came straight from the Save the Children Peace Prize Party . Shouldn't be hard to find out. And please pants to long, jacket to short where do you people get these funny rules 😅🤣
DeleteMalgré le style masculin du combo, Mette-Marit a su le mettre en valeur !
ReplyDeleteThe Queen wears a beautifull purple velvet deux-pieces,
ReplyDeleteMabel
This pant and jacket not the best look for MM. I do like the Q dress. Nice to see the brother and sister on stage with the RF. css
ReplyDeleteNot much to say fashion wise here. Not sure why all these dark colours. Queen Sonja is always elegant and class.
ReplyDeleteNot fashion? Isn't a Dior jacket or a Emilio Pucci skirt suit high fashion 😅🤣
DeleteThe Nobel ceremony in Norway takes place in the afternoon and the dress code is dark suit/business suit for men (and ladies' dress accordingly).
ReplyDeleteThe Swedish ceremony also starts in the afternoon but continues immediately in the evening (until midnight). White tie (frac) is allowed only after 6p.m. except in cases the event starts early and continues immediately until after 6 p.m. The dress code is white tie for men and gala dress (+ tiara) for women.
These differences explain the differences in the type of outfits. Older ladies customary wear dresses (QS) whereas younger generation (M-M) often wear trouser suits, specially during winter.
