i never understand why her hair is not cut at the same level, some strands longer than others. Mary and Letizia have long hair too but its well leveled, it looks tidy that way.

    1. Nothing wrong with. Catherine.s hair you don’t have to put one woman down to uplift two others, it’s not a State Banquet Catherine has put a casque on so of course her hair is not that tidy.

Because it's a layered haircut, actually quite flattering with the shorter tresses framing her face, and the longer ones perfectly texturized in order to make it slick and avoid the blanket effect. I personally love it. Both Mary and Letizia have also fabulous hair, so there's no need to compare them.

Mary and Letizia often has different level in ther hair, maybe extensions!

I believe it called layering. Also, stands hair for most people does not all grow at the same rate. So, even if one's hair was cut perfectly even to begin with it's not going to grow longer perfectly even.

  3. Can’t say much about fashion here. All I can see is a lineup of handsome, young soldiers and maybe one or two young girl soldiers.
I think the Princess wore a camouflage jacket for part of the visit.

I cannot see Pss Kate, is she there?

Helen saved us from seeing the trousers that looked as if she wore tights. And I don't mean very slim jeans, I mean tights, as if she forgot to put on trousers. With a black blazer even worse than with a sporty jacket. (GM)

How can she wear combat gear if she never had military training. I wonder what the young European crown princesses are thinking when they see her pictures. I hope they can laugh with it. Lucky they are all well educated young women, but I can imagine it must not be very encouraging for them.
CP Leonor of Spain, CP Elisabeth of Belgium, P Ingrid Alexandra of Norway,... they all are doing or did severe military training combined or not with higher education (university level) and in Britain the princesses are appointed with military grades without doing any effort. To me it looks like a great show. What will they do if one day they encounter a real situation like a war (I hope it will never come to that) ? Going to hide themselves as quickly as possible in a bunker I suppose.

Calm down. And to your question about the British princess "What will they do if one day they encounter a real situation like a war ... Going to hide themselves as quickly as possible in a bunker I suppose."
My answer is: If to such a situation it really happened in future, your highly educated (- but they haven't finished university yet, they're just starting to study!) CP princesses Leonor of Spain, Elisabeth of Belgium and Ingrid Alexandra will quickly crawl into the bunker too. And they will climb out of the bunker only if they go to encourage the soldiers and give them some kind of award. And this can be done by Princess Kate even without a military course. She actually does, she came to encourage the soldiers of the regiment. I bet they were delighted.

I don't know where you are from, but I understand what you are saying. In the US, that would never happen. The uniform and rank is only for members of the military. It is something that is earned, not an honorary appointment given and taken away like a reward. That is called Stolen Valor and deeply frowned upon in the US. It had been a crime, Stolen Valor Act of 2005, but was struck down by the Supreme Court due to freedom of speech. It was replaced with a weakened version, the Stolen Valor Act of 2013, and signed into law by President Barak Obama.

    6. What a stupid comparison. Elisabeth, Ingrid-Alexandra and Leonor were born into their position. The former Kate Middleton was not..

    7. @Stephanie. I am very calm. Could you explain to me why you need the grade of "colonel" or "commander in chief" to encourage the soldiers of a regiment, and why do you have to wear a uniform to do so ? She could have gone to encourage them as the Princess of Wales. No need of a title or a uniform.
@ Coralie. Not a stupid comparison but another reason not to wear a uniform or to have a high military grade.

I don't know why YOU - residents of the United Kingdom need "the grade of "colonel" or "commander in chief". My country - Slovakia - is a republic and aristocratic titles were abolished in our country in 1918, when we freed ourselves from Austro-Hungarian rule and we created Czechoslovakia - today the Czech and Slovak Republics). Basically, I don't care at all. But I suppose it has to do with traditions. Traditions are necessary because they hold the national spirit. Those who think that having a president is cheaper, I want point out that this is not true. The presidential apparatus also costs money, security costs, plus elections every 5 years.
Kate's behavior is very nice, dignified and if she is lsomething ike Prince Edward and Sophie whom I met for the Duke of Edinburgh Award project, then everything is fine.

Now, before a deformed vision of the meaning of the HONORARY military grades bestowed upon Princess Catherine goes on, it could be useful for some commentators to elaborate reality as it is, that is to say , based on true FACTS.
In addition, it could be helpful to keep in mind that P.ss Kate wasn't born into royalty so she didn't need
      - and still doesn't- to undergo any military training.
She will be Queen Consort one day so she won' t be in charge of any formal commanding role in case of war.
Only the reigning Monarch-appointed on the basis of a pre- existing succession line (that's what P. William will be in the future)- acts as Commander in Chief in case of war.
Now that the truth has been stated, I attach an article in order to arise knowledge where seems to be none

Of course, no honorary title was stolen nor did Pss Kate ever asked for them.
It is only up to the reigning Monarch- that's what King Charles currently is- to bestow honorary military titles upon members of the Royal Family.
Honorary titles bestowed upon a working royal lady should never be taken as a pretext to bring down her as a persona and her inner value.
Some commenters' personal hate towards this Princess speaks volumes about them.
      Gotta leave now.

  9. Regarding Catherine's military training versus the crown princesses of Europe: She is not the heir to the throne. William, as the future king, has actual military training and experience. Catherine's role is to support the troops, and I think I'm safe in guessing that most of those soldiers were delighted that she came to spend time with them. BCR
