Great to see so many pictures of the lovely Duchess of Gloucester. Very often we only get a glimpse. Blue is a great colour for her and this blue dress is very beautiful. The Gloucester honey suckle tiara is one of my favourites and the pink stone is a great compliment to her royal blue dress.

    1. I don't have any opinion on the dress from the little we can see; yes the blue color. Is the duchess wearing white shoes ?

    1. I was also wondering who she is. The other day she was dressed in an Austrian dirndl walking next to Prince William. With a nice hairstyle she would have had a very nice look. I.P.

She's Elisabeth Mainelli, wife of the Lord Mayor of London. Born in Germany in a town with strong roots in Bavaria, which probably explains her outfit on Tuesday. She looks great here.

  6. Isn't she the lady that accompanied the Prince of Wales on Tuesday night during the state banquet ? I don't know either who she is.

  7. The Duchess of Gloucester elegant and classy as ever. Big jewelry. The only thing I do not like are the white shoes she is wearing under her blue dress.

  8. Thx for the explanation about Elisabeth Mainelli. I have seen her in a video on another site. I didn't like her in the dirndl. I've seen beautiful and festive dirndl when I was in Austria during the Christmas period once. What she wore looked not at all very festive.

  9. I want to comment on the immaculate Duchess in her drool-worthy topazes, but I am too distracted by the lady in turquoise, who was clearly late for the function, as the car must have arrived to pick her up just as she was sitting down in front of her hairdresser....

  11. If Elisabeth Mainelli is originally from Bavaria (southern Germany) why on earth do you speak "Austrian dirndls"? Ladies wear dirndls also in Bavaria!

    1. I know Bavaria is on one side of the border and Tyrol (Austria) is on the other side. They speak the same "dialect" regional German language with an Austrian accent. Their traditional dirndl are practically the same. There are very beautiful dirndl that not everybody can afford. The ladies (German and Austrian) who have such a traditional dress are mostly people with a certain rang like mayors, aristocrats, rich hotel owners, ... They only wear them on special occasions . For a state banquet at Buckingham Palace, I think she should have worn the better or festive dirndl.

  15. The Duchess looks fabulous here---love her gown and her jewels! She's really pulled out all the stops in terms of her jewel selection for this visit--and the Honeysuckle Tiara with the pink topaz is gorgeous. She is such an elegant lady.
