On November 16, 2023, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Sofia of Sweden attended a closing seminar of Care About the Children (CATCH). The seminar took place in Bernadotte Library at the Royal Palace. Queen Silvia’s Foundation – Care About the Children was started in connection with the Queen’s 70th birthday. The seminar is a thank you and appreciation from Queen Silvia and marks an end to the Foundation.

Victoria looks very chic and professional. Sofias dress has a very strange colour, which is a pity, since she is such a lovely lady!
ReplyDeleteUnflattering curtain-like dress on Sofia. I often don´t really get her style choices.
ReplyDeleteOn this occasion, I don´t like what Silvia´s wearing either. The various pinks in her blouse and scarf clash big time, I don´t like the cut of the jacket (at least while it´s unbuttoned), and I think she should go for a darker shade for her tights.
Victoria looks good. I assume it´s the same type of suit like the orange we just saw on her. The fit is good, the colour is great, so I think we have a winner.
Well said and I agree on all points.
DeleteIt couldn't be worse: Sophia in a 50s-style curtain. What should we call this creepy colour? Mustard yellow? Curry yellow? Or rather the colour "biomass"? I'm shocked, to say the least. Frieda
ReplyDeleteFrieda, I looked up the dress, the manufacturer calls it gold. What is absolutely stunning is the price … GPB120 in John Lewis UK. Compare this with eg Princess Charlene’s EUR 1200 coat without sleeves and I couldn’t have more admiration for the Swedish princess’ humble choice. At first glance I thought “interesting” but as I studied the photos again, I think she’s stunning in it, standing out in the room due to the special colour. Even if I think the designer did a weird decision on the sleeves! And I’m very impressed by the pricing versus the obscene prices of many of the Royal outfits (where my brain always asks, can’t we do something better with that money and still have you looking good?) - AnneLise
DeleteAnneLise is right, it is not an expensive dress. But many non-expensive dresses are nevertheless attractive. And then, expensive dresses that combine this colour with this kind of pattern can be just ... well, let's say not really favourable for the wearer,. Mustard alone can be good and this pattern too, but the combination is somehow - well, curtain-like. - I was immediately reminded of a very similar Erdem dress the then Duchess of Cambridge wore for a festive dinner in Sweden ... just g**gle "2018 Duchess Catherine Sweden dinner Erdem" and hopefully you'll smile about the strange choices our royal ladies sometimes make. Delete@Frieda. Although I never have been a fan of dresses with little flowers and a high neckline and now that these flower dresses are not trendy anymore, I must say that I am surprised to see it is very flattering on Princess Sofia. I have no problems with the mustard color and the brown and wine red flowers in the fabric of the dress. The sleeves are a bit special but they don't spoil the rest of the dress.
DeleteCP Victoria looks good in that green suit. Queen Silvia wore one of her Spring ensembles. It does not look good wearing this during the Fall. She should also wear tights which are less white. Her blouse does not match the blue of her ensemble. Usually she dresses better.
@ AnneLise You know that money is no problem for the Grimaldi family. The people who are living in Monaco are not exactly poor either. They are all former sportsmen, rich industrials, retired men and women who belonged to the banking and financial world, etc... who moved to Monaco to escape at the high taxes they had to pay in their own country. If you do not agree that a royal family of a country with a monarchy spends too much money on clothes you have to move to a country with a president, although he and his wife and children must also wear clothes. Why do you think that in Europe the royal houses are more and more reduced to the king or queen, and the crown prince/crown princess. The other children/grandchildren of the king/queen will have to look for a job when they are old enough, unless they are (partly) working royals. Examples are : The Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Maybe Norway too,...
The Queen looks lovely in this colour. Princess Sophie looks lovely in this dress, very feminine on her.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen and the princess look fabulous! MR
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful suit by the Queen . Pss Sofia looks lovely. CP Victoria looks great in her green pantsuit.
ReplyDeleteCP Victoria is smart but unremarkable. Queen Silvia wears another suit in a lovely colour. I'm less impressed with the blouse which is a little fussy for my taste. I love the colour and pattern of Princess Sofia's dress. I don't like the strange sleeves but it's a lovely dress which she really suits.
ReplyDeleteI have the same opinion, Qn Silvia's blouse a NO for me, Sofia looks good in this dress, rather difficult to wear ; she can make it.
DeleteI think Princess Sofia looks wonderfully feminine. The colors of her dress--I'd call the background gold, and the print bronze with pink and gold highlights--are pretty autumn colors. I see nothing old fashion about her style choices. Queen Silvia's suit is a style that suits her (no pun intended) . The royal blue is pretty. Her choice of the pink and red blouse is a nice contrast. Princess Victoria's green pant suit is nice. I like it much better than the orange wide-leg suit she wore yesterday.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you Debra. All the ladies look lovely. Sofia's dress has very interesting colours which one can not see properly in these pictures. The sleeves are great, nothing old fashioned here. It seems to me that her hair is shorter, looking much better than before. Victoria's pant suite has a great colour and this time the blouse looks perfect underneath. This blue looks good on Silvia.
DeleteDifficult to observe for sure, but I think Victoria's nice green suit is the same or very similar to the orange one of yesterday .
DeleteMy points go to Sophia: festive dress.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen: good as always.
Victoria is going to her office: no fantasy here.

ReplyDeleteI’m happy to see Princess Sofia wearing a dress which is again, something a little different. She’s the baby amongst the Swedish royal ladies and is still playing around with fashion. Perhaps, one day, she’ll find her uniform.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow S has long hair again, fun with extensions!
ReplyDeleteNice look for all 3 RL. I like Sofias dress a lot. Lovely color and pattern. css
