South Korea's President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Keon Hee are making a state visit to UK. The Prince and Princess of Wales greeted President Yoon Suk Yeol and the First Lady at their hotel, before travelling to Horse Guards. The President and the First Lady were formally welcomed by King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Royal Pavilion on Horse Guards. A State Banquet will be held in their honour at Buckingham Palace this evening.
Catherine's large red coat makes me think of Charlene no later than two days ago. Isn't the big bow a bit awkward ? Queen Camilla is right on spot, this is her style. Best dressed in my opinion is Mrs Keon Hee, though I am not a big fan of her grey stockings, too much grey. The cut of her double-breasted coat and her scarf compliment her figure so well.
ReplyDeleteMaguy
Agree, Catherine looks strange/oldfashioned in this outfit; HRH the Queen looks so stylish as ever!
DeleteI agree the spouse of the president S Korea best dressed. Should have been black shocking I think
DeleteTotally agree! I think Kate's outfit looks like she's wearing a costume.
DeleteWell, well, Catherine who imitates Queen Maxima (the cape) and Queen Mathilde (the bow) at the same time. I like her in this outfit, it is finally something new among the old fashioned coat dresses she always used to wear. A pity the shoulders are too square or did she forgot to remove the hanger. I would certainly not call it old fashioned @ Anonymous 21/11 17:01 on the contrary. Catherine is the only one who does not look grey or dark. The wife of the S Korean president's coat has a sad color not to speak of queen Camilla in one of her same old style coat dresses. Especially in the 6th picture, it looks like her clothes are hanging on her.

Love PoW coat, so christmassy
ReplyDeleteCatherine is such a classic beauty!
ReplyDeleteTotaly agree
DeleteWaiting for the too much red comment...
ReplyDeleteWell, it will be a break from comments on too much black ....... Won't it?
Delete@ Anonymous yesterday at 16:03
DeleteMeanwhile, why don't you comment on P. Kate's great tonic legs?
You could have something to learn from their shape.
You know, this would be a blessed change from your being stuck in your old ways to THE way contemporary ladies look as far as their physical aspect and sartorial choices are concerned.
Do you know P I really couldn't care less about her legs or her red outfit. I was being sarcastic since that what people said when Charlene came in an all red outfit. And I was right wasn't I? Look at the comment below...why you are so offended though I guess you must answer yourself.
DeleteHello Anonymous 20:46.
DeleteSorry , what "people "talking about Charlene are you referring to?
It's always you bringing down Charlene in all of your comments or monologues in different guises, no matter what colour she wears.
You bring her down just like any other beautiful woman Simply out of the way they were born, that Is to say beautiful and naturally classy.
This is one of your great , great issues, so hard for you to cope with.
You should come to terme with your jealousy towards them sooner or later and you can find the causes of this distress of yours just inside yourself .
And now you were also being sarcastic about " some" people looking for negatives about Charlene?
You are always looking for negatives in any beautiful royal lady, actually.
Hilarious, indeed.
Why should I be offended?
No, not in the least, not me.
I have my own beauty all over my body, I am not badly in need of despising other beautiful women's bodies , hair and clothes the way you do.
On the contrary, they look inspirational to me (including Jennifer Lawrence, for example).
Now try to ask yourself why you always target beautiful women.
You seem to be chased or haunted by them and obsessed with them!
I bet everyone on this blog knows the answer by now and you do too.
Again, you did not catch a single word in my previous comment- yesterday at 14:56.
Try to elaborate first.
I was lampooning you once again!

Delete@P the Original - please learn to ooopen your mind and embrace different opinions. Why being so rude and offended with others in your looong reply back?
DeleteLets us have a friendly blog like other non-Kate related blogs. Thanks.

This is 16:03 and 20.46. It,s so funny when you think YOU is only one person. To your information I has never ever talked down Charlene. Not once. However, I have criticized the discrimination she and some others are subjected to. I have criticized the nonsense about looking sad and bored. I have criticized the spread of rumors and I have supported her in her choice of clothes and colors. So give it a rest.
Delete@ Debbie. She is doing this to everyone, she did it to me too quite a while ago. Best is to ignore her, the only thing she asks is an answer from you so that she can continue with her accusations. I am also convinced it has nothing to do with the Princess of Wales. She will find a reason if she is up to write a new long answer plenty of accusations on your or my address.
DeleteSomehow Kate’s red outfit is just too much red and too big appearing. Too, too massive looking.
ReplyDeleteThe Princess of Wales looks 50 in this outfit, everything seems overdone for the occasion, the large hat and the cape, a designer coat would have been fine. I find her eye make-up too heavy as well as her eyebrows which gives her a severe look not young and fresh. This shade of red suits the Princess very well and I noticed that the Prince of Wales is wearing a red tie to match the Princess coat.
ReplyDeletemjt
I agree…overdone is the word that came to me, too. It’s certainly a dramatic look, but it just seems jarringly big and bold and loud. The sort of thing that Queen Maxima used to be criticized for (rightly or wrongly). — Jane
DeleteTotally agree with you!
DeleteAK
Fully agree, the first time hung I thought was indeed « totally overdone » . Too much of everything. From afar in that first photo I thought it was Maxima. I am confused though if the mega bow is on the dress or on the cape? In the photos where she has the cape on it surely looks like the bow is part of the cape’s design. But then in the last photo we see it as part of the dress. Could it actually be on both?? ? -like the dress and cape she wore for the Coronation (that was another confusing mystery)? She has certainly had more elegant looks than this in the past.
DeleteE.d’A .
A big red tent is what came to my mind. Certainly overdone and rather in poor taste
DeleteP
Catherine dressed like Queen Mathidle
ReplyDeleteExactly my thoughts. Mathilde wears these capes better but I like the fact that Catherine tries something new. I don't dislike it on her, she just has better outfits than this in her closet. Hair and make-up, the colour and the hat are perfect for Catherine. Damsel Dragonfly
DeleteIt is a no for me. She looks much older than she is. My grandmothe would love it though. The Bow gives a cheesy. bibe….. Earings are amazing and look really nice on her.
ReplyDeleteIt looked like Catherines cape had the bow, but I now see that it's actually her dress that has it. The rigid shoulder pads are a bit too boxy for my liking and remind me of armour. I like that shade of red though.
ReplyDeleteI like the Korean First Lady's simple grey style. It's non-fussy and practical though perhaps a little too informal. A small brooch would not have hurt. I'm looking forward to seeing her in traditional dress at the banquet this evening.
- Anon 9:13
i wish she wore a traditional dress
DeleteFirst Lady Kim Keon Hee is so beautiful and lovely, what a nice, hardworming First Lady!
ReplyDeleteI do not like Kate's cape. It looks a bit odd with those broad straight shoulders. However the dress underneath it looks great as well as the colour. The wife of the president looks less is more. Very Asian. Wrong stockings. Camilla again very fashionable esp lovely playful hat
ReplyDeleteInteresting coat which is elegant but I would normally think “too much material”… except I think it may have been selected for its shape echoing that of the Korean National dress: the Hanbock. And therefore I love the gesture. The colour is magnificent. - AnneLise
ReplyDeleteI love the addition of the red cape to her Catherine Walker coat dress. I thought PoW looked stunning! Looking forward to seeing all the ladies in the finery later this evening. Bea
ReplyDeleteIt is a Roland Mouret coat dress, she wore it December 2021 to Westminster Abbey
DeleteI agree, this is fabulous IMO. Adding the cape makes the coatdress new and updated. Yes, it's a lot of red, bit it all works. It's so seamless amd not a hodgepodge pf different colors/reds. I think she looks stunning.
DeleteChel
On other sites it was identified as Catherine Walker bespoke. e.
DeleteCamilla looks a little dowdy with the blue (looks like a bathrobe) coat and the hat that has a scrub brush sitting on top). No, don't rail on me, that was my first thought when I saw her in this outfit, it made me laugh. On closer inspection, it is a very casual coat (especially around the neckline), not really good for this occasion, more for a local outing. At least it does not appear to have a zipper, and the black boots are back for the rest of the fall/winter.
ReplyDeleteCatherine looks smashing in Christmas red cape and dress.
Mrs. Mrs Keon Hee has way too much gray going on, including the tights in gray. Edwina
PoW is overdressed today. She is struggling with her style as PoW. QC and Mrs. Hee look great!
ReplyDeleteA rare mis fashionwise for Catherine imo. A belted coat suits her figure so much better!!
ReplyDeleteKate, Halloween is over! Stefania
ReplyDelete😂👍 excellent comment!
DeleteThe red outfit reminds me of some kind of knight's dress. The idea may be good, but the execution has failed. We have seen many nice capes on royal ladies lately, but this definitely is not one of them. Korean lady looks nice, Camilla quite good also. -Siri
ReplyDeleteCatherine looks lovely, and I love everything about her outfit, but the big bow. The S Korean First Lady is beautiful, and I love her style!
ReplyDeleteWow! Catherine looks stunning--so chic. QC looks great in her blue coat and dress and her hat is beautiful. And--she pulled out the gorgeous Russian sapphire brooch!!! Such a treat to see it out of the vault. The beautiful South Korean First lady looks smashing--elegant and sophisticated. Not a fan of her gray stockings though--black or nude would have been my choice. Super excited to see what these ladies will wear to the state dinner!
ReplyDeleteJanet
Catherine looks stunning! More photos in this link: https://mol.im/a/12774787
ReplyDeleteMR
Hm, sehr theatralisch-roter Auftritt und wirklich ungewohnt.
ReplyDeleteSabsi
The grey outfit looks simply superb, chic and very stylish. The red dress under Catherine's coat with the large red bow she has worn before. The actual red coat looks nice, but maybe a bit too much fabric for her, regardless she looks great. Love the double, Sapphire and diamond earrings they are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteKate looks great, but she's a little over the top compared to the others. The outfit would have been more suitable for a single appearance.
ReplyDeleteKorean lady Kim Keon looks beautiful despite being dressed entirely in gray. I like this and it looks very elegant. She is a very attractive woman.
milla looks elegant too, but I'm not a fan of her hat.
That's an outfit for the Cathedral but overdressed for a welcome within this setting. To be dressed a bit less loudly as for the color would have been a better choice for Kate as a host. This said I don't like Kate's outfit today. Her make-up is beautiful. Her right eye is still smaller than the other one. Frieda
ReplyDeleteTo me she is not overdressed the two other ladies are underdressed for the circumstances. Catherine seems to be the only one here who did an effort to dress nicely compared to the two other. How one can find the grey coat of the Korean lady beautiful, not to talk about the stockings. Camilla in an old coat, horrible hat and probably an old dress underneath.
DeleteThe PoW in red is a little too theatrical for my taste. But maybe the comments about how "boring" she is sartorially compared to Queen Letizia and CP Mary(her Royal fashion compatriots) are finally getting to her.
ReplyDeleteI like it better when she removes the cape part. But she is beautiful in that color all the same
I am a bit over these cape dresses. Too much fabric, too much red, to big of a bow. Queen Camilly looks good in blue, minus the boots. I understand the colour coordination between the two ladies. I am sure for official events like this their PR teams have a plan ahead how they want these pitures to be put out. But in this case it is a rare miss for the Princess of Wales.
ReplyDelete@Beth. It is not a cape dress. It is a cape with a dress underneath.
DeleteMeghan style? lol
ReplyDelete‘Look at me’ attitude. I am the centre of attention with this oversize bow, hat and cape bright red. All we see is her for sure.
DeleteLaura
Are you the person that is saying the same about Queen Maxima that she has a "Look at me" attitude. Of course they are the centre of attention they are a queen and a princess. Even if they are wearing and old outfit, they are the centre of attention, the press & television are watching them to be the first with their pictures or video's on T.V. , in the news papers, and on the internet.
Delete@ Anon 10:45.
DeleteNo. Queen Maxima does not have this ‘look at me’ attitude … She is extravagant, yes, but in a funny way, not in a patronising way. Her nature of being extrovert i think. Can’t and should not compare in general.
Laura
I am surprised at the positive comments about Kim Keon Hee's apparel. Thick gray woolen midi-coat and gray tights, with same fabric scarf that looks like it's strangling her - seriously? This is "fashion" worth praise? She looks like North Korea's first lady, no style, no money, no attempt to make an impression on a state visit. Or a boarding-school girl from the deprived 1940's. Not a first lady representing a progressive, prosperous, and very fashionable country. This does seem to be her personal style, but I find it joyless and draconian. A little scary, if I'm honest. S.M.
ReplyDeleteKim Keon Hee is very elegant, stunning in fact. She is nothing at all like her sad counterpart in North Korea. In fact, Mrs Hee's sober elegance is an almost embarrassing contrast to the loud red Little Miss Riding Hood getup of the Princess of Wales, one of the few if only time I have ever seen Kate drop the ball on a State occasion.
DeleteRed is a great color for Catherine. The whole look is quite elegant and regal. Love it all!
ReplyDeleteM
I have huge admiration for the Princess Of wales and I love red but this outfit has bandit vibes--the combo of the cape and the sombrero style hat. The colour is just fabulous but the hat with a fitted coat or the cape with a smaller hat would have ben so much better. I love Queen Camilla's hat but the shape of the coat plus the inevitable black boots makes it rather dowdy. I like the South Korean First Lady's coat
ReplyDeleteKate is beautiful today. Love the color of cape and dress.
ReplyDeleteI agree. For the first time Princess Kate is wearing something that other queens and princesses in Europe are wearing at least the last 3 or 4 years, iIt looks like the British cannot appreciate that she also wishes to wear now and then something different. The fact that she choose red for the whole outfit is not bad because she can have it. It suits her. Before she had other outfits completely in green, bordeaux, royal blue,... and everybody liked her. I hope she does not take notice of all the bad critics she received for this red outfit and that she continues to change her style whenever she feels the need to do so. Staying still and never change anything is equal at not be adapted anymore for the future to come.
DeleteCatherine was channeling Maxima this afternoon, giving us redness in full force. She wears it well. -Todd
ReplyDeleteWoow to this red costume. I am speechless 😂😂
ReplyDeleteI really don't think Queen Camilla can quite ever be described as fashionable. Maybe well dressed, but certainly not very fashion conscious. I actually find her style incredibly boring and not always very flattering either, but certainly not offensive ever either. Kate's dress is great, the cape not so much. I lover her hat and had she paired hat and dress with a different coat it would have been so much better. The presidents wife looks elegant although quite unexciting.
ReplyDeleteThe Princess of Wales looks beautiful and elegant. Please don't compare her to Mathilde and Maxima, the Natan queens.
ReplyDeleteI would not call Queen Mathilde and Queen Maxima the Natan queens. They have both a lot of dresses and coats of French, Italian, a.o. haute couture houses. I never saw the British royal ladies wearing something of these famous houses (except for Meghan Markle). It looks like the Princess of Wales likes the style of the Q.M.'s otherwise she would not imitate them.
DeleteTrue. Can’t compare Kate to other Queens. Not the same class and elegance.
Delete@ Anonymous 22/11 21:25. Only a couple of weeks ago Queen Mathilde has been praised in several foreign newspapers for her elegance and class. She is the only Queen of the younger generation of Queens and Princesses to be queen in the future, who is an aristocrat. All the other are not born in an aristocratic family (which does not mean they have not class and elegance) Even when she was a child she was known for her good manners and behavior, her softness towards other people and friendly approach. All the people who are pretending that Queen Mathilde has no class and elegance are those who cannot stand her and cannot accept that there are other Queens and Princesses who have as much elegance and class (or even more at certain occasions) than Princess Catherine.
DeleteWell nobody will forget this outfit in a hurry. Very eye-catching in colour and style, beautifully tailored cape and she looks immaculate, a real scene stealer.
ReplyDelete~Peonies~
The Princess of Wales' cape is a sartorial item of extreme Queenly gravitas - so if that that was the look she was going for, then BRAVO. However, the slimmer silhouette without the outer cape that she sported at the reception at Windsor Castle thereafter, was much, much better.
ReplyDeleteHer Majesty looked very nice, but a little underwhelming for the occasion, in my humble opinion.
It appears there is a consensus that POW is wearing too much red. It really looks like she is trying to draw the attention toward herself, (or perhaps fly away.... ) when as a host she should have down played her ensemble . Korean lady Kim Keon is absolutely stunning and quietly dignified in her attire. POW could take a lesson here.
ReplyDeleteTrop de rouge dans cette tenue dont la cape aurait peut-être été mieux dans une teinte unie comme par exemple du gris et plus près du corps ; j'aurais bien aimé voir un changement de boucles d'oreilles ?!!
ReplyDeleteP. Kate is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous living statue just like P. Charlene.
Top notch.
Period.

DeleteYes , I know it's hard for you to acknowledge that very beautiful women do exist.
The fact that they can afford and wear high end classy ensembles make you feel even more shuttered.
Pluck up courage, come on.
Try to do something good for yourself and your life instead of destroying born beauties in your comments repeated over and over again.
Don' t you ever get enough of producing all this amount of pointless hammering commentaries?
There's so much better than your envy and bitterness to enjoy in your life (at least I hope so)👋
