On November 28, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended the 15th anniversary of the foundation Het Begint met Taal (It Begins with Language). The foundation supports 15,000 volunteers around the country in teaching non-native speakers the Dutch language and culture. Every year, the Het Begint met Taal network brings 42,000 newcomers who want to practice the Dutch language into contact with language volunteers. The celebration took place at the Rotterdam Public Library.
Gorgeous colour combination; generous with her enthusiasm and smile to others! - AnneLise
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
Great camel colored coat to break up the otherwise red ensemble. Nicely done and always her enthusiastic smile. She seems to be getting it right in her more simplistic style recently -- shows off the lovely lady that she is.
ReplyDeleteNow with the cold weather, today between 1° & 3° degrees Celsius, a lot of people are wearing hats. For Queen Maxima it can help her to control her hair a bit too. Love her coat, no cape for a change. Her classic red dress and accessories are appropriate for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteI started to wear my wollen bonnie a couple of days ago.
DeleteHelps a lot with one's body temperature. Same result from a hat.
Q. Maxima looks fabulous wearingTimeless 'Jackie O' head piece.
ReplyDeleteIt's known as the "The Jackie Look". Mrs Kennedy never wore a pillbox hat after she married Onassis.
DeleteI would not call Q.M.'s hat a pillbox hat. I think it has more the shape of a turban. (Only know the name in French). Nevertheless Q.M. wore pillbox hats à la Jackie Kennedy too.
DeleteAnon 13:28 is correct about Jacqueline Kennedy wearing pillbox hats. After she married Onassis, her style was pure 70s.
DeleteMaxima's hat is reminiscent of Grace de Monaco to me.
The red dress looks fabulous, love the red accessories. The tan coat looks good and works in well with the outfit. She looks happy and engaging.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress and coat that both fit well in a sophisticated color combo. The shoes and gloves are fabulous pairings but I’m not loving the hat as much. If it was just a bit smaller I think it would be more successful.
ReplyDeleteVery nice look for the Queen today. css
ReplyDeleteGreat coat and dress combo. The coat comfortably covers the dress (which we don't always see!) making it elegant and smart. The hat really suits Queen Maxima and, as usual, she looks her best in brighter colours like this.
ReplyDeleteGrandma Juliana style
DeleteQ. Maxima looks beautiful in her bright red outfit and the coat is pretty too and I love her MEGA WATT smile!!
ReplyDeleteAstonishing how a ghastly headpiece can undo ALL the rest.... the dress is lovely, good very color, as is the coat. But as an ensemble? no. no. no. no.
ReplyDeleteThe hat seems somehow askew and looks more like a fancy shower cap, than a hat. Edwina
