I am not a fan of leather for a work event. I do like the top and the shoes. The coat is a little too busy for me. Well, I am not the person wearing it so it is fine with me. css

Love the color of her top but the skirt is awful.

I don't like the skirt - strange top, shiny, wrinkled,
I don't like the color. Maybe next time..

The top is not strange and not wrinkled. It is a normal sweater in fine wool, maybe not tucked in very well.

I love this outfit…beautiful color and the coat is fabulous!! The skirt does look a little plastic in the bright lights, but assuming the leather is better in person, I think this is a sophisticated outfit.

Love the combination of coat, top and skirt en the beautiful green colour. The top is sloppery tucked into the skirt and probably the waist of the skirt could a bit lower

Love the blouse and coat but the skirt is a big no for me.

Queen Mathilde is looking young and up-to-date in her new clothes. In fact they are the same clothes she has in a different color. She likes the coat so much that she bought exactly the same but in another color (more green) than the older one (more bordeaux). The same for the green skirt in vegan leather which she has in bordeaux too. Her shoes are new too. What a fresh looking lady she is. Rose

Oh, this is quite good: casual, simple and still stylish.
The skirt is of a vegan material, Queen Maxima has the same one in burgundy.
The coat lifts it all to a next and exquisite level!

Superb look. Skirt has a classic and edgy vibe. Colorful coat that enhances the outfit.

  10. This has to be the most unattractive skirt I can remember Mathilde ever wearing. It looks really cheap but I bet it isn't.
I don't mind the busy coat though.

Queen Maxima more or less wears the same set in burgundy red and combines it with an Oscar de la Renta coat. Green suits the queen beautiful, but I don't like the way the top is tucked in.

  12. A rewear for everything, Qn M can make the outfit work, some originality, nice harmony of colors.

  13. The (patent leather?) skirt looks plastic-y and therefore cheap. It also doesn´t sit right at her waist. The colours are wonderful though, and I think this combination had been great if the skirt was of normal fabric, thus not only looking better as such but also solving the fit issues thanks to a less stiff material. The coat is unusual but I like it and it easily provides enough interest for a whole outfit - anything else "interesting" is therefore simply too much.

It is plastic. Vegan "leather" = plastic. I don't like this one and never liked the burgundy one either. I like the coat, its fun

Rose

“Fun” fact: “Vegan leather” is generally constructed from plastic based materials, so all up, it’s more sustainable to use real leather, look after it well, and when you’ve finished with it, it can break down naturally without leaving micro plastics in the environment. Don’t know what Mathilde’s skirt is made from here but the consensus in comments is that it’s not looking that good … that said, Mathilde looks fantastic and elegant anyway, and I much prefer the silhouette that these clothes give versus her Natan clothes. - AnneLise

@ AnneLise. The skirt is by NATAN ! The top probably too. Only the coat is by Zara.

Ah thanks Rose! I had no idea… because Natan in my knowledge to date (obviously a bit faulty) is chunky and heavy whereas this skirt, although I don’t like the material, is a nice streamlined silhouette !

Queen Mathilde, please do not re wear this outfit. The blouse is odd fabric, and the skirt is just a no from me. Fake leather is never a good look on anyone. Add to the body shape of the Queen, this look is just not good. Bless her heart, she does try and keep up with current trends, but needs a better stylist at times, this being one of them. Edwina

@ Edwina. You like it or you don't, but there is nothing wrong with Queen Mathilde's body shape, in fact she lost weight during the last months. The blouse is a sweater in fine wool, what could possibly be wrong with that ?

The skirt is a miss for me all around. It does not flatter her figure and looks as if she has no defined waist. She does better in dresses than outfits such as this one. And the coat is all wrong -- way too busy.
