As patron of the Christmas Seal Foundation, Crown Princess Mary participated in the presentation of Christmas Seal 2023 at Copenhagen City Hall. The 2023 Christmas seal was designed by author and artist Lisa Grue. Julemærkefonden is a Danish charity running five so-called Christmas Seal homes that provide service for vulnerable children.
Among guests were also Count Ingolf of Rosenborg and his wife Countess Sussie of Rosenborg, who are patrons of Julemærkemarch (Chiristmas Stamp March), as well as the ambassadors of Julemærkehjemmenes (Christmas Stamp Homes).
The Christmas Seal is issued annually by the Foundation for the purpose of financing its services. Once a year since the year of 1904, the Foundation has issued the special seal in order to raise money for children residing at one of Denmark's five Christmas Stamp Homes.
Fantastic dress in a fabulous colour for Mary. Love her hair too. Damsel Dragonfly
ReplyDeleteAgree with Damsel Dragonfly!
DeleteMary looks lovely and festive in this colour and dress.
ReplyDeleteI quite like this dress but I find the slit far too long for a crown princess, which surprises me because Mary is usually very measured in this respect.

I agree.
DeleteVirginia, I agree!
DeleteWhat a lovely dress and pattern. Mary looks great. Countess of Rosenborg looks lovely in all pink, nice of the Count and Countess of Rosenborg to join Mary for this event. css
ReplyDeleteCrown Princess Mary looks so lovely, I like the slit on the dxress. The children looked thrilled to me such a lovely Crown Princess!
ReplyDeleteWow! this is a beautiful dress. Love the deign, the color of her shoes look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteTrès festive cette robe qui supporte à merveille la fente de côté ; la couleur de fond Bordeaux se retrouve dans ses élégants escarpins !
ReplyDeleteWhat a dress, just fantastic. Beautiful color for her (and perfect for the occasion). And love that leg slit! Her hair and makeup look beautiful as well.

Beautiful dress, and although I’m not a huge fan of small prints, this print works well in these autumnal colors. The slit is great and keeps the dress from being too frumpy given the high neck, long sleeves and ankle length skirt.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress--quite festive so perfect for the event. Mary looks beautiful. Nice to see Count Ingolf and Countess Sussie taking part in the event too.

I happen to like this berry long dress with it's unusual almost edgy slit on P. Mary.
ReplyDeleteIt must have a nice swish and movement.
I wouldn't wear It myself but I think Mary looks gorgeous in it.
Her pumps look to pair it beautifully.
However, what counts most is this commendable visit👍👍
True. Mary sits on a pedestal for the readers on this blog. What other ladies gets criticised for she get prized.
DeleteSorry that comment was supposed to be under deadeggs comment.
DeleteLove the dress, split and all.
ReplyDeleteMary looks smashing.
HOWEVER, had the Duchess of Edinburgh (Sophie) worn it, there would be endless comments about the skirt/dress being too long.
To date, no comment about Princess Mary and the length of the skirt on Newmyroyals. 😏
We’re a funny lot aren’t we.
Maybe the answer is, put a slit in your ankle length skirt and it will block the comments by the critics about the length. 😁
The point is, that everybody has to find their own style. What looks good on you can look bad on somebody else. Mary has found her style, so does eg. Letizia, Charlene and Maxima. Everything depends on your body type and personality. -Siri

DeleteI think that the problemi is all about the lack of interesting details on Sophie's long and a bit too conservative dresses.
As gorgeous as she can look in them, you feel something is missing, for example a split, a gathering on, one side, ruched sides, cut outs on the bodice and so on.
Even long but more fitted dresses would look great on Sophie.
In addition, the Countess wears long dresses a bit too often, whilst Mary' s wardrobe Is much more versatile as to designs, colours and details.
Of course, Sophie's beauty and her fabulous work have always been praised .
I have seen her close, I like make-up, but CP M has to much!
ReplyDeleteWhile the wine color is a nice shade for fall, I think the dots are too busy and the dress is too long.

Mary is tall and has a different body shape than Sophie. What looks good on Mary’s body doesn’t necessarily translate to a good look on Sophie. Proportions matter in this case.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, of course, so do the details on the maxi dress. Cut, volumes, interesting prints, bows, ruffles, slits…
In my opinion, Sophie is trying too hard to follow trends instead of staying true to the outfits that make her look best. Even if maxi hemlines are “in”, for shorter women that look is very unflattering. Even more so if the lower part is flaring out. It’s a different story once to get beyond 5ft 6 or so. Then a woman’s height and leg length allows for longer hemlines, they don’t get engulfed in them.
Mary remains my favourite queen-to-be from all European royal families. She very rarely puts a foot wrong and has a natural elegance and distinction about her that isn’t present with the others. Her demeanour and countenance are always nice but not showy. That full combination sets her apart in my opinion.
