On Wednesday, November 1, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima received a dozen Dutch people at Noordeinde Palace for an in-depth conversation about the letters they previously wrote to the King or Queen Maxima. The members of the Royal House receive more than ten thousand letters every year. These are all handled and stored with the intervention of the King's Office and the Royal Household Service.

By entering into discussions with a number of the letter writers, the King and Queen wanted to listen to people's concerns and discuss with them further about the possibilities they see to strengthen the Dutch society. The guests were chosen among those who show commitment to a wide variety of themes, such as solidarity, social security, housing and climate.

  1. What is Queen Maxima wearing under her coat/jacket?
    Have done the rounds of other royal sites but nobody is showing a full length photo. Maybe something will show up later.

      @deadeggs
      I found on "Modekoningin Maxima" the following : she wore a grey pencil skirt, a sleeveless top of pony hair and a camel jacket made of wool. No wonder she kept the jacket on if her top was sleeveless ! I'll try to pass you on the url in a next message. Rose

      I saw on another site that it’s a Natan ponyhair and wool dress in burgundy and gray. It looks like a skirt with top, but I guess they’re connected. It looks like the top is the ponyhair part and the skirt is wool.

    5. Queen Maxima’s sister in law, Princess Laurentien,
      recently attended an important, evening charity event wearing a “Maxima red” pantsuit with bold accessories. All in all a great OTT ensemble.
      Maybe Helen could find some photos of the event.

    Queen Maxima is wearing a lovely ensemble which she has worn before. I think she kept the jacket on since it is probably not that warm in the palace's room.
    Indeed, since last Winter the Dutch royal family started to turn the heating a bit down because of the energy crisis. So did the Belgian royal family. Last summer we could see the pictures of the Royal Palace in Brussels where King Phillipe and Queen Mathilde went on inspection of the works which were going on to struggle against the cold in the Winter : new windows, thermic glass, and isolation works,... 3. La dernière photo posée aurait été beaucoup mieux avec un fond coloré plus gai !

    The style of the jacket is odd and the color is not her best especially with the same messy, unstyled hair.
