On the second day of their visit to Denmark, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain hosted a gala dinner in honor of Queen Margrethe of Denmark at the Glyptoteket Museum. Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and Princess Benedikte were present at the gala dinner. Before the dinner, the Spanish and Danish royals toured the exhibition “Joaquin Sorolla – Light in Motion”. The royal couple is making a 3-day state visit to Denmark.

I hope Letizia wasn't too cold in her sleeveless dress 🙂 but maybe Denmark isn't as cold as Sweden right now.
ReplyDelete/Sofia in Sweden
I think Letizia must have been freezing in that dress.
DeleteI don't like the fabric and I think the style of the dress makes her look too thin.
To me a rare miss from Letizia.
i do think they have heating-Devices in Denmark 😉
Deleteshe had a jacket outside, and inside there is central heating
Deletems
Well… straight from warm car to inside the building … probably no time to cool down?! They are all looking fab and there are some fantastic earrings on display. The picture of Mary laughing and Fred undoing his suit jacket pockets is a rare glimpse of all dressed up and not performing for the cameras and it’s cute! Letizia looks like a movie star, … but most of all I’m loving seeing Mary’s face looking more natural than it’s been photographed for a long time - with lines and wrinkles and reality. Beautiful! Real! Long live the natural face, it’s so much healthier to see! - AnneLise
DeleteDear @Sofia in Sweden at 10:17
DeleteIf you really lived in Sweden, you 'd already knew that all venues and especially public, cultural and institutional places, have central heating with high temperatures so that you do not need to be rugged up when indoors.
Methinks you know nothing or very little about Scandinavian countries including their heating devices, as you call them!
Feel free to move to Denmark in the guise of @ ms in the following comment at 11:11or whenever you decide it is about time to take a trip to another country! 😂
Oh sorry , @ Anonymous as Sofia, you moved to Denmark on the same day at 11:38, and afterwads @ ms joined the trip.
DeleteYou fly much more than me, fancy that!
Please, have some rest now .
Cheers!🍾
@Anonymous, I was sure you would not catch a single word of what I say including " cheers" and the bottle, which were clearly meant to lampoon you and your altered perception of reality.
DeleteYou 're trying to reverse your own serious issues on me.
You' re going to fail as always.
I feel pity for you.
Don' brother to address me with your senseless misunderstandings.

ReplyDeleteWow Letizia looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteMary’s hair is little bit granny like, otherwise she looks great😀
P Benedicte looks very elegant in her dress. Love the black velvet collar. Q Margarethe and CP Mary both look very nice in their repeat outfits. Sorry to say but I do not like Q Letizia´s dress. The top looks too much like a swim suite.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the elegance of Princesses Benedikte and Mary and I think Queen Margrethe's outfit is superb. Not really a fan of Queen Letizia's outfit. She has many better evening dresses than this one.
DeleteMargaretha is smashing in her silk red skirt with lace top together with her sister , who is elegant as ever. Mary super in her simple H&M broccade? skirt in this special mint colour. Letizia was not at her best at this state visit. Normally she has a good taste in picking the right clothing. This dress is nice but makes her very fragile. Imv the dress would have been better with sleeves
ReplyDeleteQL doesn’t mind the weather , she loves showing her toned arms which sometimes is inappropriate
ReplyDeleteWhy is it inappropriate? Who said so?
DeleteI remember on other state visits I didnot like Letitia’s choices, like this time.
ReplyDeleteWhen in Spain she dresses best!
I hope that prince Frederick takes a good look at the impeccable style and suits of the Spanish King, his own jackets and trousers hardly ever fit well and he seems not to be able to stand upright.
Mabel
It actually looks like this jacket and trousers fit this time, but his body language is all over the place..while Felipe is more poised, making him look more clean and put together.
DeleteIn my opinion, Princesses Mary and Benedicte are clearly the best. I love the top of Mary's blouse - it's a beautiful boat neck, Letizia's patterns don't have a nice top, it doesn't look elegant enough.
ReplyDeleteQueen Margrethe looks royally elegant, but the white-looking stockings spoil it. No white stockings for me.
Stephanie
While QL is always the epitome of elegance for me during visits/events in Spain, that is never the case for me during state visits abroad: somehow I am never enthusiastic about her clothes and even find it disappointing. Now in Denmark the coats are too big and the tops of the evening wear are too exposed (especially for the time of year).
ReplyDeletePB and CPM look marvellous whereas the top QM's wearing is not 'my cup of tea'.
I really hope that Letizia had the back of that dress altered to be a bit more demure. That very low back on the model is inappropriate for a queen (and frankly for most people).
ReplyDeleteI think Queen Margrethe wins the fashion sweepstakes this time around. She is classic and elegant yet still stylish. I don't like Mary's matronly outfit and Letizia's looks too nighclubby.
ReplyDeletePrincess Benedikte's face is priceless when she looks at the back of Queen Letizia (picture N° 4). I wonder if the back of QL's dress is like on the picture of the model or is it more closed ? Rose
ReplyDeleteBenedikte is not looking at Letizia's back, she's looking down. They all look good but Letizia's dress gives her a masculine frame. The close-up picture of Letizia, with hair and make-up: fantastic. Likewise for Mary's close-up. Not fond of Margrethes outfit but Benedikte looks great, as always. Damsel Dragonfly
DeleteOh no, @ Anonymous 8/11/23 at 16:42.
DeleteP. Benedikte is neither upset at Letizia' s edgy back plunge nor is she looking downwards randomly.
Benedikte is thinking and longing for what you are thinking and longing for now as well.
Her hammering thought and yours is:
" I wish I could be at least 20 or more years younger, have Letizia' s toned figure and wear this sensational BLACK dress too!"
Sorry, I forgot the end...:
" I wish I could be married to this handsome king!"
@P. I like the way you think!
DeleteOh, thank you, dear @ Anonymous!
DeleteYou see, I can't t take any credit.
You' ve just lead me to draw this conclusion after all the salacious comments you've spread throughout this blog for quite some time now.
You ' ve let others and me to fathom your mind through the words you yourself have written in such a long time on this platform.
I 've just put down the thoughts you' ve KINDLY shared with all of us fellow- bloggers.
Therefore, my comment above comes after your own words and " opinions" about the whole lot of royal ladies featured on this blog.
Please, try to recall what you yourself have said everywhere so far:
you can't stand trendy fashion, you openly bash royal ladies' bodies , bodyshaming having become your personal religion, you yourself said that you are an elderly retired woman (your age has a fluctuation range still not very clear, though), you worship King Felipe but thanks goodness you' ve stopped just before labelling him as " hot", you have appointed yourself as the official accountant of the site so that you can keep us informed about these royal ladies' clothes prices, you dislike high heels and cool shoes, you do not have a clue about modern approaches to skin care, makeup and related products.
What else?
Oh, you 've become acquainted with the most crucial climate challenges, above all air pollution due to royal flights emissions and lately you seem to know everthing about military training too!
Even more interesting is your changing location on geographical maps and identities accordingly but you seem to have been recognizable somewhere in the Scandinavian countries in these past few days so you assume that Q.Letizia must be freezing with this glam dress on!
That's why I wholeheartedly thank you for giving me and all the other fellow- bloggers the opportunity to have access to the your deepest thoughts and your out of touch mindset.
You know, at first all these whimsical thoughts of yours really shocked me ' cause I' m still young and enjoy life and fashion but now though I do not approve of any of your attitudes towards beautiful and glamorous women in general, I am almost getting used to your rather moot wrongly judgemental lifestyle.
You can't just help yourself, sorry for you.
Sorry, it was meant oi be "snide", not salacious.

ReplyDeleteNone of these outfits are grabbing me except for Benedikte, who gets top marks in that fabulous, modern shirt dress! On the other end we have poor Freddy who is always a wrinkled mess.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think these two are enjoying each other’s company. Something about their impressions in all the photos
ReplyDeleteThere are reports all over Spain of Frederick being seen in the company of divorce Genoveva Casanova whose apartment he left at 8:30 am after spending the night. This happened the week prior to the state visit. It must have been terribly uncomfortable for them. MR
DeleteIf anyone can pull off a dress like this it’s Letizia. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteDear Stephanie, The white stockings of queen Margrethe probably have a reason and are meant to cover up certain imperfections that are normal as people age.
ReplyDeleteI might be wrong though. I agree with those who think that queen Letizia should have covered up, just like the other royal ladies.
🌞 Virginia
Dear Virginia,
Deleteto cover certain imperfections that are normal as people age, stockings of other colors can be used just as well (so-called "nude", black, gray ... In my opinion, the white color draws too much attention to the legs. That's my opinion,
Stephanie
Q. Letizia looks lovely, the diamond earrings are stunning. CP Mary looks beautiful, love her earrings. Pss Bene looks splendid, love her dress and the beautiful single strand of pearls.
ReplyDeleteQueen Leticia looks simply elegant. The Danish queen went a little overboard. KF great as usual, the Prince's pants always too long and the jacket too tight. Mary is putting on a smiley face, but it must be a hard time for her.
ReplyDeleteWhy would it be a hard time for her?
DeleteIt's all just tabloid spinning. Don't believe it. Damsel Dragonfly
DeleteLet's just say she is distracted. That would be fair.
DeleteThe RL's look very nice. Mary and Letizia look fantastic. Q Margareths top is not what I expected, I can't say exactly what bothers me about it. css
ReplyDeleteLove that Mary and HM are wearing 2 of my favorites from their semi-formal collections! Both ladies are so elegant. Mary is gorgeous in that portrait neckline and her earrings are perfect as her single major piece of jewelry. QL looks fabulous in her sequined dress but, like several other posters, I hope she had the back altered (I feel confident she did too). Her earrings are stunning. Princess Benedikte is her usual elegant self.
ReplyDeleteJanet
How on earth is it possible to look like you are bored out of your skull on almost every photo taken on this trip to Denmark.
ReplyDeleteSeems to be a lot of tension in the air?
DeleteThe dresses are very pretty. I should have made this comment before the weekend started; if you have a chance to see the Sorolla exhibit, please go! He is one of my favorite Spanish painters. Christine
