  2. I love the cherry colour and the velvet fabric but the sleeves don't meld well with the dress. It's basically a conservative style overall but the sleeves are on the bohemian side. They are also too long for my liking. I think fitted sleeves would have looked better. Sandra

    1. I love the sleeves. They add that something extra to make the dress unique.

    2. These sleeves add a nice feminine touch to the dress in my opinion. I like the dress and colour. Simple but class choice for the event.

  5. Gorgeous colour on Mary. I like the dress but I feel it lacks something to add the oemph to it. Beautiful make-up and earrings. This makes me dream of a rewear of her long velvet gown with her ruby tiara for a new years reception in January. Fingers crossed. Damsel Dragonfly

  8. The dress is a beautiful colour and really suits CP Mary. Apart from the detail on the sleeves, it's very plain. It needed something to brighten it a little imv

  9. Simply gorgeous!!! Love that she's wearing earrings from the ruby parure as her statement jewelry--with nothing else to draw away their beauty and how well they go with her dress. As for the dress--perfection. This color is one of my favorites on Mary. The simplicity of the dress suits her so well. She looks stunning here.

  10. What a beautiful dress, and especially at the start of the holiday season. It is so simple, but the fabric is so rich in color and texture that the simplicity is perfect. Her darker makeup looks great with this as well, not outlandish or overdone. Just beautiful.

  11. CP Mary looks exquisite - her dress is a sumptuous regal color, gorgeous fabric, lovely detail on the sleeve, her jewelry, radiant make-up and hair - all perfect. An A+ from me!

  12. Lovely dress, good color. The neckline is a bit too high, a little lower not much would make a big difference. Her tights are also a little too dark (and I mean not replace them by nude ones). There are so many natural shades in which we can choose these days.

  19. Le velours a toujours été un de mes tissus favoris surtout dans cette couleur rouge cerise qui est très élégant porté par Mary ; j'adore ses boucles d'oreilles rubis/diamants discrètes mais juste ce qu'il faut !

A colour I adore, elegance to the nines.

  21. CP Mary is very elegant in her choice of outfit. Beautiful however not to turn the full attention to her by some extravagant clothes. She wonderfully represents Denmark.

  22. This red cherry velvet dress is very becoming, feminine and elegant. The color is sublime. Love the softness of the sleeves, the cuffs are pretty adding interest. The skirt has movement, really lovely. The black accessories work in well with the dress. The ruby and diamond earrings are the perfect finishing touch. Her makeup is on point, her hair styled in this way is very soft looking. She looks very dignified and elegant.

  23. Velvet can be tricky. I don't think it's becoming at all in this case. Mary has worn this dress before and I didn't like it then either.
