On October 27, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's event "The royal music for 500 years" at Uppsala Castle. The celebratory concert was organized by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music as part of the 2023 anniversary year marking the 500th anniversary of the election of Gustav Vasa as King of Sweden.
The concert featured Gothenburg Baroque and Orphei Drängar. Göteborg Baroque was founded in 2003 by the artistic director Magnus Kjellson who conducts the ensemble as a performing conductor from the keyboard of the organ or harpsichord. Orphei Drängar is a male voice choir and singing society based in Uppsala.
Very nice black and white ensemble.

Agree on this lovely ensemble. Jacket sleeves lend a nice "edge" to the attire.
DeleteBlack and white is always a smart combination.
ReplyDeleteSuperbe la dame blonde vêtue d'une belle robe bleu-nuit !
ReplyDeleteThe queen is the best dressed among the 3 ladies present, although she is likely the oldest
DeleteOh, this is classic Silvia and I LOVE it. The white looks so crisp, but with her dark hair and the overall styling it doesn't wash the queen out. The slightly higher waist of the skirt creates enough interest to stop it from looking like a boring two-part ensemble. And while I'm trying to convince myself that she is of course wearing fake fur in the first picture, it is undoubtedly one of the most regal things I've seen her wearing lately.

I choose to believe she is in faux fur.
DeleteOf course it is real fur
DeleteLovely outfit. Very much Queen Silvia’s style. My one minor complaint would be the tights. she always wears neutral coloured tights but she seems to choose ones that are particularly pale. The lady in the red dress, also in neutral tights, seems to have a better colour. She still looks fabulous for a lady approaching 80

Maybe her back hurts as she has a cushion on her chair.
ReplyDeleteSilvia looks so elegant!
ReplyDeleteThe King look good. I don't know if I like this jacket on the Queen. css
