    1. @Anonymous 14:38 I think it's the make up. Probably a different make up artist than their usual? You can tell from Silvia as well that it's a different style.

    2. I don’t think so. I saw some pictures on the internet about last night where the lights weren’t so good and those photos were not photoshopped. You could see in those pictures that no work was done on her face. She is a natural beauty.

  8. Princess Madeleine's dress is beautiful, something I can imagine on Princess Kate and in my wardrobe to. Nice hair and makeup too. I would suggest replacing the sandals with classic pumps. Then it would be perfect.

The only thing I don't understand is: 4 bracelets and a watch. The bracelets look cheap and don't match each other. The style icon - the famous Coco Chanel once said: When leaving the house, a lady should put away one of the accessories she has chosen for herself. Then their amount will be just right.

    1. How do you know the bracelets are cheap ? I see one by Cartier and a tennis bracelet with little diamonds that is woven in a golden bracelet that could be the name of a loved one. The little bracelet she is wearing made with pearls of different colors is probably one of those which are sold for a good cause, Queen Sylvia is always wearing a similar bracelet too. Or maybe it is made by one of her (grand)children. Bracelets and jewelry don't have to match anymore like in the old days. Today one can wear yellow gold and white gold together, diamonds and pearls too.
Her dress is gorgeous and her golden sandals and clutch are a good choice for and gala dinner. Her face is indeed a bit different than before. Due to what ? I wouldn't know. Rose

    2. Maybe she did. She might have started out with 5 bracelets. LOL.

      Delete
    3. Btw, I don't see 4 bracelets. I see two gold bracelets on the right arm and one multicolored bracelet on the left - and it looks like one of those "friendship" type bracelets (perhaps maybe made by one of her kids?). Who knows but, I don't think they look cheap and that "rule" about all of your metals having to match stopped being a rule well over twenty years ago - literally in the last century! Mixed metals has been a thing for a while now.

      Delete
    4. The multicolor bracelet is "The World Childhood Foundation's bracelet" and Silvia and Madeleine are almost always wearing them. I am surprised that some of you haven't noticed it before.
Madeleine looks stunning. Silvia looks also good in green.

    6. Dear discussion partners,
maybe the bracelets cost a lot of money, maybe they are from Cartier, I don't know. But - from my point of view - this four-combination of bracelets gives the impression of cheap goods. Being cheap and looking cheap are two different things.
You may like it, but I'm not a fan of too much jewelry. I believe in the principle that there is beauty in simplicity.
So let's sum it up: I love Madeleine's dress, I don't like the accessories. You have your opinion, and I have mine too.
      Stephanie

    7. I agree with those who know that stacking bracelets is more than acceptable, and mixing metals has been the way to go for a very long time now. Cartier is anything but cheap!

She could also rent the gown for one evening, then the cost would be even less. Did she buy 50 dresses to reach this price of 600.000 SEK?

    4. @/AA: You wrote about outfit cost’s of 600.000 SEK but her dress did not cost this much.
As to the prices of the jewellery...she has worn watches and bracelet by Cartier numerous times before, these were not bought for this event only. Do you also calculate how much jewellery cost during the Nobel gala? Talk about Expensive then ;)
Cartier seem to be pretty go-to-brand among the royals circle. Its like an investment as they will gain value over the years.

  19. Wow, just wow! Now this is how you wear an off-shoulder dress! And for the right occasion too. She looks stunningly beautiful, the dress, the cut, the fit, the right shade of blue, hair, make-up, jewerly, down to the ruby nail polish, everything is just perfect. I even like the gold sandals :-)) But most important, Madeleine has the charisma of a woman who is content with herself, her role, her life, her life decisions. Of course we would not know in detail, but this is what I see. Hubby looks good in his tux too. Everybody was dressed so nicely. These photos were a pleasure to watch.

  20. What an usual look for Madeleine. A saturated colour and none of her usual pastels. A figure-hugging dress and none of her usual princess gowns. A strapless style and none of the floaty floral high-neck stuff we used to see on her. And her hair in a beautiful updo rather than down. And lastly, her make-up done quite differently and more boldly. I´m here for all of it.

Silvia looks fantastic as well. Her dress is very much her style, but her hair and make-up are different as well, and I do like the variation. I think the green colour suits her perfectly, but I wish the dress was a bit more fitted.

    1. I agree with all your comments, except for the make-up. That's a LOT of make-up, dare I say Kardashianlike quantity of make-up. Her usual, more natural make-up would have looked nicer. But overall: great outfits on great people. Damsel Dragonfly

    2. Agreed, it´s a lot of make-up. But I think it´s the kind of occasion that befits a bit of glam. And in the American context, it is just right. In Europe, and for royal representation as well as for any day occasion, it would be too much, of course. Even here, I think that her cheeks are too much, but I like the eye make-up and the darker lipstick (which we very rarely see on her)

May I be 100% honest again?
    P. Madeleine is a real stunnner, wow!
That's entirely my cup of tea and something very close- or should I say identical?- to my own style.
She's glamorous all over, including the captivating dark red shade of her nail polish.
Her sandals are pure luxury, as well as her clutch.
Hair is on point and makeup is perfection.
Her jewelry is well chosen and I love her watch.
Frankly, all the commentaries by the accountant of the site about prices and that ridiculous blathering about bracelets are exactly what I would expect from someone not used to wearing high- end clothes and accessoires including jewelry.
The nasty remarks on Madeleine's makeup are worth my pity but I understand they are the result of total ignorance as far as makeup products and their application for a glam night/ event is concerned.
The more the lights, the more a particular kind of rich make-up is required( this is one of the most basic rules).
I suggest visit modern toiletries/ cosmetics/ clothes stores in any shopping centre or departement stores before producing such old- fashioned, overly hilarious commentaries.
A visit to the nearest hairstylist is also highly recommended to whom still seems to live in such an anachronistic unreal dimension.
Anyway, thank you for making me burst out laughing at such OLD ignorance spread all over several commentaries!

Unless you yourself are Anonymous, 1/2 or with whatever signature...
Why are you so touchy, then?
You know, I have read that a very generous sum was raised thanks to this Gala Dinner.
I like to think that also 'expensive' Princess Madeleine you try so hard to disparage has to do with raising money for such a good cause.
Kudos to Q.Silvia and Mr O' Neill for making all this possibile as well.
Please, do not judge people you do not know nothing of.
You would be surprised at some ' lovely, expensive' ladies.
They have hearts too, they work and earn their money and they are also charitable, if you know what I mean.
They will never tell you when they give something away or who they benefited.

But de-blogging yourself can have some risks to it.
They should think carefully before making the decision.
