Joseph Joe Silk Crepe de Chine Blouse
Joseph Pure Cashmere Vest
Joseph Tova Silk Crepe de Chine Trousers
The overall effect is too baggy and too much orange.
ReplyDeleteHer hair looks lovely though.
I wish Kate would have her hair shorter like this.
Totally agree! Ac
DeleteThe lovely hairdo flatters her face. The autumn colour is on spot. Nice outfit. Unfortunately the trousers are a bit too long so that she looks shorter as she is.
ReplyDeleteShe looks absolutely great. I love this color and style on her. Lovely smile too !
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful Look for Princess Stephanie -

Belle couleur orange dans cette association mais sans le gilet, son look serait plus léger ; de plus, quelques centimètres en moins empêcheraient le pantalon de faire le ménage. Admirable coiffure dont certaines devraient s'inspirer !
ReplyDeleteThis warm orange is a wonderful colour, but I think the blouse and the trousers together are a bit too much. The blouse combined with a chocolate-brown would have looked better.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit does not have an iota of elegance.
ReplyDeleteStephanie (too)
Very tough comment about someone who has improved her style considerably, starting from a rather basic level admittedly.
DeleteWhat she is wearing today fits pefectly to her morphology, as well as the warm color, and it is trendy. Personally I would wear the trousers a tad shorter. And not everyone has the same definition of elegance.
To Mary T: My comment is sincere. It has nothing to do with Stephanie's personality, her behavior is flawless, dignified. Moreover, she has very good and healthy looking hair. But : This monochromatic look in brick orange would suit few, maybe an ultra-slim model if she had some bold accessories to go with it. The oversize vest is like something from grandma's wardrobe. I can imagine sitting by the fireplace in this cashmere vest on a cold December night, but I certainly wouldn't wear it to a social event. It is shapeless and expands the figure.

I would agree that it’s neither elegant nor particularly flattering but I still like elements of the outfit. firstly, I think the colour is great and really suits Stephanie. Secondly, both trousers and blouse are lovely and even together might have been good with a black or brown jacket. The vest is too much and spoils the whole look as well as making the HGD look much bigger than she is
DeleteAnnieM
I still believe that the brick orange color is perfect for her. The top pullover could be a size smaller, but "oversized" is still in, and here the monochrome style is perfect.

DeleteThis is a fashion blog and sartorial choices must be taken into account , of course.
This Is your view, which may sound definitely moot to other bloggers.
Anyway, I just want to add that we have to do with royal ladies performing their royal duties and engagements.
I prefer seeing P .Stephanie wearing pieces not to my entire liking and yet showing loads of good manners, empathy, kindness and smiling all the time ,which is all worth my utmost respect and esteem.
It does not happen to me when reading some comments from some bloggers
In that case, I feel no respect and esteem for the author(s), especially when they question these royal ladies' body features.
I feel that P. Stephanie comes from a high level background and education and would never make fun of or rant at other women's physical aspect.
I see her as a satisfied, joyous lady with a very good self- esteem and this is what counts most, after all.
Wow, looking good Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteBravo Stephanie, she looks perfect
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! Her hair style, makeup and color looks wonderful on her. She looks radiant! MR
DeleteBravo Stephanie ! Ashe looks perfect
ReplyDeleteThe 3 pieces are beautiful, but all 3 together make her look broader than she is. If I was her I'd wear the trousers and the shirt together but not with the vest. The trousers are a bit too long. She could also try the trousers with the vest and a shirt in black or white underneath. She should try out different possibilities and only keep what is making her look a bit more elegant. Wearing high heels could also help to make her look longer than she is. Rose
ReplyDeleteI think she looks exactly as broad as she is, for the time being or longer, it does not matter. We should stop criticizing other women in such a plump way for how their bodies are and pushing them to want to look different or create an illusion that they look different from how they actually look. Fashion critic is not body critic. (GM)

DeleteWhat has become of the world that it is so hypersensitive to any criticism? When I say someone is chubby, is that body criticism? No, it's a fact.
Elegant fashion can cover up or distract from body imperfections (EVERYONE has some, including me - I'll admit it). Elegant fashion uses the properties of textile materials, their cuts, optical color options to make a lady look charming (each of us wants to be liked by others, regardless of what we say).
You don't have to look like a beauty queen or be rich. It is enough to have the taste, the feeling to choose the right piece for your figure. Or get advice from a stylist. Princess Stephanie (apparently a very likeable person) was not elegant in this case in my opinion.
An example of elegance can be, for example, Princess Benedicte from Denmark - already an 80-year-old lady.

@ Stephanie, hi. You didn't write that she is chubby, you wrote that she looks broader than she is. My problem with it is not that being chubby or broad or whatever one calls it is mentioned (even if I think it is seldom necessary). My problem is the implication that one should do everything *not* to look broad, which is about the same as to say "strive to look slimmer". The other day she wore something quite tight - her underwear was to blame. No, it is not, she has big tits, especially these days with little Charles. She does not have to try to make them seem smaller or higher or whatever. We should not encourage hiding or shame for one's body. (Similar case with the Grand Duchess: she should try not to look short (what she is)). - Why encourage women to strive to some kind of ideal woman (mainly tall and slim)? I think it is very well possible to write about what Stephanie wears without necessarily referring to her body composition. (GM)
Delete@ (GM). I agree with everything you wrote, a very honest and refreshing opinion. Let me share what I read just the other day: "It's amazing how many people are ashamed of their bodies and how few are ashamed of their minds." Keep up the good work. Greetings Rina
DeleteDear ladies in the discussion,
DeleteI feel that fashion criticism is being confused with body criticism in the discussion here. I don't see anything wrong with saying that a piece of fashion lengthens, shortens, or doesn't fit a woman's figure well. I don't see anything offensive about it. Sometimes I can't find the right expression because English is the third language I've learned and I'll probably never be at the level of a native speaker. I'm used to speaking openly and honestly about what I like and what I don't like and why. After all, it's just about fashion.
And to the question of GM "Why encourage women to strive for some kind of ideal woman (mainly tall and slim)?" Well, we will not affect the height, but the figure yes, it is a question of health (overweight seriously endangers the cardiovacular system, mobility, blood pressure and causes diseases ).That's why it's appropriate to encourage a "reasonable" figure (not like a models).

I hope what was trying to be conveyed is that clothing, just like makeup, when worn to its advantage, can highlight one's best features and camouflage one's negative features. The overall impression can make one appear thinner or wider, taller or shorter, more vibrant or more pale. A great example is Mathilde. When she wears dresses without a defined waist or belt, she looks better than when she wears a similar cut dress that is belted. Our minds naturally put her waist lower than it actually is and her body appears more balanced.
DeleteShe visits a laboratory for biomedicine, of which she is patron and which is the working place of the people she meets. She wears designer clothing made of quality silk in a style that is totally appropriate in this context - casually elegant, looking lovely. This burnt orange is beautiful on her and oversized clothing is fashionable. (GM)
ReplyDeleteI think Stephanie looks lovely--and she can wear orange. Personally, I cannot stand orange so wish she had selected any other color but that's just me. I do think there is too much orange going on here. Had she chosen the Joseph blouse and trousers in another color the Joseph vest could have been a darker or lighter shade of the same color--even black with a gray sweater. I do think the overall style is really good and I would wear something exactly like this. Her hair is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteJanet
When I saw the thumbnail, I wondered who was in prison. That is too much orange. The vest is right on trend. I love it. Each piece is good, but the colors needed to be broken up. I think the vest could have been a little smaller and still given the desired look, and her blouse should have been a different color so the vest would stand out. White, striped or another coordinating color would have made a big difference. Orange pants are a bold statement. Paired with the vest, I think it it can be overwhelming on someone like Stephanie. Maxima has such a big personality, she can easily carry off a look like that. I think Stephanie needed to tone it down to make the biggest impact. I give her all the credit in the world for stepping out of her comfort zone and exploring color!
ReplyDeleteStephanie looks really nice. This copper outfit looks good on her. css
ReplyDeleteBeautiful smile, perfect hair. I love the overall wardrobe combo, in a colour I adore. I think the plante should be a bit shorter it otherwise a really nice presentation
ReplyDeleteStephanie looks lovely, she wears this color so well. Her hair looks fabulous, love the length, it suits her beautifully. She looks radiant.
ReplyDeleteI wish the HGD would give up pants for her working day wardrobe and wear dresses or dress suits. At least occasionally. Pants don't flatter her body, especially not wide ones.
ReplyDeleteElle a sûrement marché sur ses pantalons. L’art de porter de beaux vêtements sans savoir comment les mettre en évidence.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of hi-low hems on blouses, coats, or dresses. Also not a fan of orange, however, I Stephanie is beautiful inside and out. He smile is so heartwarming. Lovely hairstyle she has in these photos.
