  1. I like this look a lot, but maybe for another occasion? This looks very Halloween-ish now. Her earrings look like swords. She looks lovely but maybe this is not the right look for a graduation. Damsel Dragonfly

  2. Like Princess Sofia’s updo and earrings. Like the top of the dress but wish it was shorter. Love the blue dress worn by the lady in the last pic.

  3. I’m not a fan of this dress; too much fabric and doesn’t fit well. Her beautiful face saved the day! MR

  4. For a celebratory graduation ceremony, this outfit needs a bit of colour or sparkle, and perhaps a shorter length. For a memorial service or a funeral, it would be OK worn as is.

    1. Exactly, I agree with you Anon 9:13.
I like the sleeves but at a three quarter length.
Then some re-designing from the waist down.
Maybe slightly baggy pants in a contrasting colour.
But wait a minute, Princess Sofia is a newcomer to royal life.
She is the baby amongst the royal ladies.
She is only 39 years old.
It was only 8 years ago that she left her life as a young lady to become Her Royal Highness, the Princess Sofia of Sweden, Duchess of Värmland.
A nice load to suddenly find on your shoulders.
She didn’t have a long training period to learn how/what/when to be the perfect Princess.
I think there’s still a nice touch of rebel in her and she’s taking her time to conform with the rules of the royal fashion game.
In time she’ll be getting a 10/10 score with her fashion wardrobe.

  5. Too much black. The new nurses and Sofia maybe a little pop of color would have been nice. I like her hairdo. css

  7. This dress has to be in the light to see the change of coloring from black to blue and v.v. , otherwise it looks all black and looses much of its charm, which it definitively has!

  8. No, this is no good. The black is a bad choice for a graduation ceremony. I would go for something brighter, fresher and less depressing. At least wear some colourful accessory with it to brighten it up, but she even has black shoes, a black purse, dark hair herself and not even noticable lip stick. The silver earrings are not enough as an accent colour contribute to the overall slightly gothic vibe.
The sleeves are a disaster, the v-neck doesn´t seem to sit right, the fabric creases and the shiny fabric emphasizes her belly. Lastly, her hair is not great.
Sorry. Very negative comment, I know, but I really don´t like this look. She can do much better.

    1. No, it not. Where do you come from since black is a bad choice? Who cares what you or we would go for. Black is always a good choice. When in doubt choose black.

  9. This dress does not seem to fit well, the fabric also, not quite sure but in any event, it doesn't sit well at all. Very bland looking.

    1. Congrats for that snarky remarks. To inform you women use black dresses at every event all over the world every day. You must have a sad life do you only use a black dress at a funeral. Chanel must be turning in her grave since the little black dress is a classic choice and fits everywhere at every occation also an graduation.

  15. Horrible, funeral like dress for the occasion. I do like Sofia but here she looks a bit smug? The sword earrings would be fun for Halloween but not for this ceremony.

    1. Totally agree about those earrings--such a formal dress and occasion and those earrings do not mix. Some pearls would have been perfect. Janet

Sofia's earrings are shaped in the form of birds with open wings.
Wish some women could have an open mind like open wings and could overcome their own bias and mind boundaries too.
Anyway, I am pretty sure that the chance is small, especially when being too grown- up and inflexible to forgive younger women's faults.
      Sad.

    3. The earrings on close up still look like swords to me not open bird wings. And I’m an open minded person and am a little younger than Sofia and still don’t care for her look on this occasion. I like Sofia but can still not like one of her outfits. No forgiving involved!

      Really?
      But seriously!
Comments like yours above and elsewhere would never have been written by a person even younger than Sofia, come on.

I agree the earrings look like swords to me too and I don't like the dress either : one shoulder is smaller than the other that is why it is pulling on one side. I don't understand that she did not see it when she was trying the dress on. Rose

Uhm...so you see swords in Sofia's earrings- and you go on repeating it over and over- though it is crystal clear that they are birds with open wings by now...
Have you ever heard of the Rorschach test?

  16. Yes too much black, even her hair is back to black.

  17. I like this dress and its very pretty on Sofia but I wish it were shorter. The neckline also has a strange pulling on one side which needs to be fixed--it shows in every photo. I love the blue dress of the lady next to her in the 5th picture--I think Sofia would look sensational that blue dress. Overall, Sofia looks very pretty.

Firstly, this dress looks navy on my screen, so the mandatory " Pas de noir" is guaranteed😁.
Secondly, it looks like a ceremony happening late in the afternoon (no hat for P. Sofia).
Maybe it's a bit too on the royal cocktail dress side/ code- so as to say- but nothing to despise about it.
I do not feel the need to put this royal lady under a magnifying glass to spot her faults over and over, anyway.
She could have done better, yes, but she didn' t.
So, be it, even with a less than perfect fitting dress.

  21. So it´s not ok for princess Sofia to wear black? But it's ok for five people from the Spanish royal family to wear black, black, black, black and dark blue?

    I don't get it 🤔

    1. From a fellow scandinavia yes, it is. Don't see anything wrong with the colour. And find it extremely funny that someone claims black is not a good colour for this occasion. So tired of this black whining. Should have like to know where these whiners come from and their age. Maybe we would learn something 🤔
Remember some people always get criticised, and others are sitting on a pedestal even in black. Letizia is the latter.
