Official gala portraits of the Danish Crown Prince family that were taken by photographer Dennis Stenild on Prince Christian's 18th birthday have been released. The potraits show Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Princess Isabella, Prince Christian, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
The portraits were taken in the Hall of Knights in Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg shortly before the Crown Prince family left for the gala event at Christiansborg Palace.
For the portraits, Prince Christian wore the Order of the Elephant. The rosette indicates that the wearer is a Knight of the Danish Order of the Elephant, and is typically worn on official occasions, when major decorations are not worn. On October 15, 2023, the Queen bestowed the Order of The Elephant upon Prince Christian.
How handsome is Vincent in that velvet suit! Josephine has her own cool style thing going on. Lovely family!
ReplyDeleteWow, this pics come across like the cherry on the (birthday) cake!
ReplyDeleteSimply amazing, all of them.
My favourite is the last one.
It's kinda of a classic portrait pose for royals, still I can see more in It.
P. Christian seems to be looking at something at a distance, be it his future, his destiny, the resposibilities he is to shoulder in due time and why not...he looks like
he is waiting for her future fianceè?
What a handsome young boy he is, bearing a heavy future on still young shoulders.
Christian, I wish you a life full of promises, success, health and so much joy.
May you keep those happy smiles you showed on your 18th b.day every step of the way.
Why some bloggers pretend as if they know the royals personally ?
ReplyDeleteI don’t think the blogger ( Helen) ever claims to know them personally? - but am always thankful for the great collection of photos and details we get here ! All in good fun - AnneLise
DeleteDo you have examples?
DeleteOh I am sorry, I did not use the correct word (my English). My comment was a reaction on P. the orignal's contribution.
DeleteTrop mignons les jumeaux. Vincent montre beaucoup d'aisance dans son costume en velours avec le nœud papillon ; Joséphine a beaucoup de style dans cette robe à encolure bateau !
ReplyDeleteThese photos are wonderful. All of them!
ReplyDeleteI love the quirky one (4th) where they are walking down the stairs, looking in different directions, laughing and smiling. :))

Thank you P. for the English link to Christian's speech! |Melanie|
DeleteThank you very much.
DeleteWow, what a beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful all the women. Elegant and charming. Love the blue kind of tuning of them all. Styling very modern. Always think that the Danish royals exaggerate with male uniforms and all the medals. Frederic a bit clownesk and an 18 yrs old son what did hé do to earn all kind of decorations??
ReplyDeleteAgree re the lovely dresses and colour coordination of the Crown Princess and her daughters. Totally disagree about Crown Prince Frederik. He sometimes looks scruffy but looks fantastic in uniform. In the UK, junior royals who have never served in the forces have commemorative medals eg for Coronations and Jubilees. Don’t know if it’s the same in Denmark but would be interested to hear if it is

I wondered the same thing.
DeleteChristian is wearing commemorative medals. He also received two orders for this birthday./Grace

ReplyDeleteAll the Royals look fantastic. What nice memory this day will hold for all of the family. css
ReplyDeleteThey do look stunning and beautiful
ReplyDeleteLes handsome famille.
ReplyDeleteTalking Franglais now ?
DeleteBeautiful photos! Loved the blue theme.
ReplyDeleteI love the portraits of P. Christian. He is growing into quite a man!! I think they all look great especially Josephine. She's just so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what all the medals on his chest are? If he just turned 18 when, how, did he earn so many? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteIt is commemorative medals from jubilees and stuff like that.
