On October 29, 2023, Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited the Japan Racing Association (JRA) Horseracing Museum in Fuchu. The Emperor and Empress later visited Tokyo Racecourse to see the Tenno Sho Autumn Races in Fuchu City. "Tenno" means "Emperor of Japan", and Tenno Sho (Emperor's Prize) is a horse race held twice a year in Japan, once in the spring and once in the autumn.
The Empress looks stunning. I particularly like the color of her pants suit. A nice change from the suit skirted suits.
ReplyDeleteAnd wearing some jewelry other than pearls! That very refreshing!
DeleteReally do not understand still all those face masks in Japan. Outside it seems? Lot of distance from other people, so why? Clothing sorry well taylored but very boring
ReplyDeleteI wondered the same thing!
DeleteThere’s a long custom of wearing masks if sick or to protect self in Japan and certain other countries in Asia. (… as someone currently down with the flu, I only wish I’d worn a mask on my recent travel because being sick is awful!). - Fiona.
DeleteHer pantsuit is not more or less boring than those Duchess Catherine or CP Mary are wearing. Personally I do not find pant suits boring as long as they are styled well and are not becoming a uniform. Rose
DeleteReally don‘t understand silly comments about facemasks. There will be good reason.
Deletekind of makes them look silly and the crown prince couple don't wear masks on their engagements. k
DeleteLong before Covid it was already common to wear face masks in Japan when one for instance's suffering from a cold; it's a matter of 'politeness' trying not to infect others (I've lived in Japan for 2.5 years myself)
DeleteIndeed wearing masks is common in asia, seems that you don‘t know anything about it, anon 20.27….
DeleteBeautiful colour for the empress !! She looks radiant !!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful suit--love the style and color!!! The Empress looks wonderful here--and I love she is wearing a trouser suit (I don't recall seeing her in a trouser suit before but could be wrong). Love seeing Masako stepping out looking so elegant and modern.

Anon 23:24, Janet, I totally agree, she looks great in a trouser suit. And like anon 10:50 also say, she looks modern and this is a refreshing change. Hope to see her in more modern outfits in the future!
DeleteThe Empress Masako looks great. Very nice color suit. css
ReplyDeleteShe looks gorgeous, she is such a beauty. Her skin is amazing.
ReplyDeleteSuch a classy lady, She looks great in this tailored suit and the colour is divine ~MS~
ReplyDeleteThis is a refreshing change for the empress! Love this pantsuit! She looks modern and youthful. The color is trendy and gives her a warm tone. Her necklace and earrings match perfectly. I’d like to see her step away from the matronly dress suits and hats.
ReplyDeleteThe Empress looks stunning, love this rich burgundy color, she looks delightful.
