On September 21, King Charles and Queen Camilla departed from Paris following a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron at the Elysee Palace at the end of the second day of their state visit to France. King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla will continue their three-day state visit in Bordeaux on September 22 and 23.
ReplyDeleteCamilla really looked good at every occasion of this State visit. Well done
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely fashion visit this was. Camilla with her fantastic Dior gown and the super elegant pink ensemble. Madame Macron idem dito. Last dress of Camilla bit disappointing with reference to colour and print.
ReplyDeleteCamilla is dressed to her best. With slimming down features like the lovely delicate sleeves and ruffles at the mid-section.
ReplyDeleteMrs Macron looks like an (expensive) doll and maybe also a bit to much hair....but yes maybe Mr Macron likes that...
-Anna-
Why always this hint that Mr. M. could like it. Perhaps it simply pleases Mme M. out of her own self. Frieda
DeleteGood choice by Camilla.
DeleteAs @Anna said and I agree, the dress has “slimming down features”.
It’s a ‘like’ from me.
Madam Macron is very French chic. It is a re-ware for her.
Her blond-ish hair style/s are her trademark.
She is a great asset to France.
She is a very learned and intelligent woman. She carries out her role to perfection in the shadow of the President.
She has three children from her first marriage and now has seven grandchildren.
I think they are very attached to Emmanuel, their step father.
She has been married for 16 years to Emmanuel Macron.
She is a good example of how to dress ‘French chic’ after the age of 50/60..

I know it's couture, but BM's shoulders seem way too high and her hair looks like a wig.
ReplyDeleteIt is a wig !!
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
The Queen looks very elegant in this dress. Her makeup and hair looks fabulous on this trip.
ReplyDeletemrs. macron rocking a mini dress in her 70s, there is hope for all of us.
ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla looks lovely in leopard prints.
ms
There is still a hope for you
DeleteWe have seen Mme Macron´s dress before and I am still not sure about the shoulder decorations. They seem a bit too heavy, almost as if she is wearing a back pack. Otherwise the dress is superb. Color, fit and length, all very elegant
ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla’s dress is elegant and feminine for once, it even has a certain romantic flair. However, royalty needs a touch of magic, and she should have added a beautiful brooch from the vast royal collection to complete the regal look.

Mme Macron has too much extensions on her hair: it look like wig.
ReplyDeleteHer clothing gives me (always) 80’s wibes.
Because it is a wig.

If I'm not mistaken, both these dresses are re-wears (well done!) and suit both ladies to their personal styles. I've loved the edginess of Mme. Macron's shoulder embellishments from when she first wore this dress. A little bit naughty, a little bit spice depending on how you see it.

For the make-up of Mrs Macron a little bit less could do more for her.
ReplyDelete-Anna-
ReplyDelete@Anon 18:02 With a comment like that, like you, I wouldn't put my nickname on it
ReplyDeleteBoth ladies look very nice. Camilla likes animal prints; she wears it well. I also like the dress of Mme Macron. Wonder if it is Chanel or Dior.? Hope both the K& Q had a successful visit in France. And thank God no demonstrations. css
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks lovely, her dress is very appropriate. Mme Macron´s dress is superb, she is so chic and stylish. Very elegant look.
ReplyDeleteAlthough this dress is less impressive, Queen Camilla suits this dress and has gone for a different fabric and slight changes to her preferred style. And she’s wearing black shoes which helps!

This was the only “fail” of the visit from my perspective. I strongly applaud the re-wears on both ladies, but both have better outfits in their closets waiting to be brought back out. Camila in particular is in a dress that does her no favours, makes her face appear tired. To me it seems Mme Macron has lost the sense of ridiculous occasionally. This is one of them. I understand she’s attempting to visually minimize the age difference compared to her husband, but I think the effect is the opposite in fact. It highlights even more how much she is older unfortunately.

Dear Petra, I' m really moved by your sweet words.
DeleteI'd say, "bitter sweet".
DeleteDuring this state visit the only outfits of Camilla I liked were the pink coat/dress and pink hat and the navy evening gown by Dior. The rest was what she usually wears "nothing special". Always the same boring style.
ReplyDeleteAbout Mme Macron : I've always liked her style even when everybody else started to wear midi-dresses. Since she is very little woman, Mrs Macron dresses herself in mini dresses, the style of her own youth I suppose. I think it suits her. I've always found that little women in midi dresses/skirts looked older than their real age. I've never saw her with low heels either, always stilettos. I say "chapeau" to her that she still can wear these clothes and those shoes. I couldn't. Rose
