Crown Princess Elisabeth took the oath as an officer at the Royal Military School (RMA). Together with her fellow students, the Crown Princess swore "loyalty to the King, obedience to the Constitution and the laws of the Belgian people". King Philippe, Queen Mathilde, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eleonore were present at the ceremony.
Every year, after obtaining their bachelor's degree, the student officers of the Royal Military School are appointed Sub-Lieutenant or Ensign Second Class. A military ceremony is organized for this oath-taking ceremony, in the presence of their family.

Oh, each photo more fantastic than the last as I scrolled through. Love the photo of King Philippe with his two elder children and. as has been said previously, the uniform for Elisabeth is wonderful. I just love the last photo with the whole family. What a good looking family
ReplyDeleteA model family!

Eleonore is grown up into a lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteNothing to write home about outfitwise, but a big big no to the hat. Elisabeth, Gabriel and Philip are smashing in their uniforms though. Sarah
ReplyDeleteCP Elisabeth took the oath as an officer at the RMA. An achievement after all the work and study she did during the past years. I think in Belgium the students of the RMA have beautiful uniforms. They remind the same uniforms the ancestors of CP Elisabeth wore when they took the oath or when they took part in national ceremonies. Queen Mathilde is looking good in this repeated dress. She has also a woolen coat that is made in the same color. Princess Eléonore is looking wonderful in her new jumpsuit. It is funny to see how Elisabeth is now the little one. Her brothers and sisters are taller than she is. Beautiful family pictures. Rose
ReplyDeleteAgree with all your comments, Rose. Well noticed that her siblings have outgrown her! They all must be very tall, I believe queen Mathilde is already about 1,75m. Damsel Dragonfly

ReplyDeletePss Elisabeth is another born winner, so beautiful and professional.
ReplyDeleteA pleasure to see this good looking family and those proud parents in particular.
My congrats👏👏👏👍👍
Agree!
DeleteTruly a role model for the next generations in other royal households around Europe.
DeleteBeautiful photos but I just can't stand that hat. I find the it very ugly and too heavy to wear with a silk dress. It looks like something worn by a gnome.
ReplyDeleteFabienne Delvigne makes no ugly hats. If so, half of the European royals are wearing ugly hats. I've never seen a gnome with a ranchers hat. Queen Mathilde probably took her coat off (same color as the dress) to make the picture. Yes, it is a winter hat, but the ceremony took place outside in the evening, probably after 8 o' clock (it was already dark outside), she wore the hat with the coat.
DeleteI also think that the first picture is one taken in bright daylight on last July 21, Belgium's national day. Rose
Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if Mathilde's hat is a bit too casual for the style of dress.
Magnifique la dernière photo où je peux admirer toute la famille réunie ; la princesse Eléonore est belle avec un goût de plus en plus affirmé pour se vêtir !
ReplyDeleteA family I'd be proud of.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos for their family album.
Eleonore est superbe, une beauté
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
Personally not a fan of the colour of dress the Queen is wearing, nor pairing it with a brown hat and shoes, makes it worse. She is a lovely woman, just a minor misstep. Perhaps a different colour hat and shoes might have helped carry the dress. Edwina
ReplyDeleteReally like the uniforms. Wonder if their siblings fallow in their footsteps? Did not know Eleonore's outfit was a jumpsuit, it looks good on her. The Queen maybe should have had a smaller headpiece with this dress. Great pics, of Gabriel and Elisabeth and the whole family. css
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.
