The Duchess of Sussex turned 42 on Friday. Meghan Markle was born on August 4, 1981 in Los Angeles. The Duchess of Sussex celebrated her 42nd birthday at her home in Montecito. Ahead of her birthday, the Duchess attended a dinner with husband Prince Harry at local restaurant Tre Lune in Montecito Wednesday night. The Duchess of Sussex wore a black-and-white striped tube dress from the brand Posse.

Ce modèle de robe sans bretelles est bien porté par la duchesse en montrant ses jolies épaules ; avec son léger bronzage, elle est parfaite mais je ne suis pas fan du style de sa pochette ; elle nous a habitués à mieux !
ReplyDeleteEverything was fine until the je ne said pas. Why fall into the pattern of knee jerk criticism? A date night with friends in a form fitting silhouette is not a royal outing or an award event. And what about the men? Marie
DeleteGreat look for the Duchess of Sussex! Polished, pretty, and flattering--can't get better results than that. Sadly the site encourages slander.

ReplyDeleteOzempic? That was Sharon Osborne, dear. Why can’t we women just support one another? Can we like Meghan AND Catherine?! Good grief. And the dress is trendy and fits her perfectly.
Delete👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
DeleteDear Marisa The price tag shown on her dress on the designer's site is $US 239,00. To me, that is not expensive.
DeleteDress fits her well. Pretty!
DeleteWhat a genuinely nice soul you are, Marisa. Hat off. Ozempic? That’s your latest?
DeleteHaters aside, back to fashion. Dress is interesting and she is sticking to her neutral colours. I have a similar one from Ralph Lauren but I prefer mine because the stripes have two different widths. I also find the length makes a big difference, I prefer a slightly shorter one. Despite popular belief that horizontal stripes make one look large, I find that it’s not always the case. Either way, Megan doesn’t need to worry about that 🙂.
Petra.
This Olympic comment which is a clear invasion of doctor patient confidentiality and even slanderous has been allowed to stay on this site unchallenged . The more these posts continue unmoderated the more toxic the site. No need to read for fashion. The same applies to the daily dose of Letizia's skin color.
DeleteI shall be stepping away.
I cannot imagine anybody profiting from this type of rigid tube-like dress without any contour and/or structure. Maybe if it was a soft and flowy fabric, showing the body's own silhouette - but this is simply not the case here. The broad and harsh stripes do not help either. Somehow this dress lacks everything that goes beyond a piece of fabric to cover the body. Maybe it is hip, but attractive it is not. (GM)
ReplyDeleteHer body and silhouette are perfect for this dress. Why criticise?
DeleteAgree with you GM. An ugly dress for a woman who has the ability to look stunning! Thinking of the really hideous shoes worn by celebs and sometimes royals because they are on trend, maybe it is because it's deemed fashionable.
Delete@Anon 12:27 "Why criticize?" : Hope you are not serious about having a problem with differing opinions. (GM)
DeleteAnon 12.27 'Why criticize?" Seriously? She is entitled to her opinion, just because it differs to how you feel, LOL! Grow up.
DeleteShe is not a royal. Why is she on this page?
ReplyDeleteWell, she still is the Duchess of Sussex, like it or not.
DeleteAre you new here?
DeleteA walking pedestrian crossing comes to mind with about as much shape.
ReplyDeleteClearly a trip for an eye exam is indicated for you Azalea. The Duchess of Sussex is a very attractive woman who clearly is health and body conscious. The lines on the fabric are well placed to enhance her figure. Good for her for making a bold clothing choice. Very few women older than forty could wear that dress as well as she does.
DeleteI have my opinion, you have yours - I totally disagree with you but would be polite enough not to make a derogatory remark especially when hiding behind 'Anonymous ' . Azalea
DeleteGood grief. That's all I will say.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, HRH the Duchess of Sussex! Classic and unfussy summer dress is perfect for a warm evening in August in California. She has beautiful skin, a lovely radiant smile, and looks healthy and happy. She has the same birthday as Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.
ReplyDeleteHRH? was dropped
Delete👍
DeleteThey still have their HRH, they don't use them.
DeleteMeghan looks gorgeous and the simplicity of the dress really suits her
ReplyDeleteAgree with you if only dress was a bit shorter.
DeleteAva
Agree!
DeleteThe Posse Theo Strapless Dress, I don't like at all. I dislike stretched jersey fabric. Stripes on the fabric in this direction are a no for me. The sandals I dont like, nor do I like the style of the clutch. I saw a photo elsewhere of her gold earrings, very pretty. Regardless of my tastes the Duchess looks happy and enjoying herself. Happy birthday to her.
ReplyDeletePlease stop posting stories about Meghan Markle. She is not a WORKING ROYAL!!
ReplyDeleteJE
agree!!
DeleteTotally agree! Please put the focus on working royals. And I would appreciate that there are no postings with paparazzi pictures in general.
DeleteWe see very often Monaco's family, they are not "working royals"
DeleteAva
You surely know that this blog is about royals (or other noble and princely houses) in general? And the owner and operator of this blog is completely free to decide on what and about who to post or not to post!
DeleteThis is a fashion blog. She is still the wife of the King’s son Prince Harry in case you forget.
DeleteCassie
It's really simple. Create your own blog and post what you want instead of telling Helen E. what to do. In the meantime scroll on . Your agenda driven comment tell us nothing about fashion, style, etc.
DeleteWhat about what you call not "working royals" ? From other royal houses in Europe pictures of "non working royals" are shown too. In the Netherlands if you don't belong to the "Koninklijk Huis" (Royal house) you are still invited on "Prinsjesdag" for example or on other festivities of the Royal house. Prinses Laurentien for example is shown on this blog when executing her own work and private projects. Princess Margriet and her family appears sometimes when
Deleteexecuting their own projects. In Belgium Princess Delphine does not belong to the Royal house but she belongs to the Royal Family and she is invited to particpate to the National Holiday event or Kings day (November 15) for example or her picture appears in the media when she holds her art exhibitions. Sometimes these exhibitions are linked to a good cause. In Sweden, does Princess Madeleine represents the Royal Family ? I don't think so since she is still living in Florida. But she is photographed and shown on the internet as a part of the family during summer holidays. One can make it complicated or simple. The problem in the U.K. is you have the pro Meghan group and the contra Meghan group. The pro's like everything what she is wearing and the contra's find everything awful or ugly even if she wearing the most expensive things in which the rest of the world find her beautiful and lovely. And like DSC says the operator decides what to publish or not. Rose
@Rose. I am not sure if there is still a pro Meghan group in the UK. Even the media that was critical now feels sorry for her
DeleteIt takes a modicum of intelligence to figure out that this is not required reading. Your comments speak volumes about you and bring revenue to the blog. If you don't want to see Meghan featured here, ignore her. You will look better and make your point at the same time.
DeleteBelated happy birthday to Meghan. I don't, but don't these photos (paparazzi photo) violate their privacy. Posting the first photo should have been enough, in my opinion the 2nd and 3rd are not required - respect their privacy.
ReplyDeleteT
Yeah although she probably tiped off the paparazzi.. so everyone will probably also begin to respect their privacy as soon as themselves begin to do so ….
DeleteAnonymous 17:59. You clearly have never been to the LA area. The paparazzi are everywhere. Outside of high end restaurants, gyms, plastic surgeons offices. Really no need to tip them off. If you are a high dollar target they will find you and Meg and Happy are high dollar targets. The British Tabloids make sure of that.
DeleteHappy Birthday to Meghan.
ReplyDeleteI like the dress; I don't find anything wrong with it. It looks slightly awkward in the moment that she is caught walking, but I think that would apply to anyone wearing it, just as the still photos would look fine as they do on the model.

J'aime tout:La robe, les sandales parfaites pour ce style de robe la pochette et la coiffure.
ReplyDeleteBravo Meghan.
I agree !
DeleteAwful dress !!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to very beautiful Duchess Meghan - all the best.
ReplyDeleteA fun-dress for 42nd birthday is a funny idea. Personally, I would have preferred a little black, but she can pull it of.
I love Suits and appreciate her performance to fill her role.
The political right wing spin in the world is trying to silence this princess. Prince Harry is right to be careful for his wife.
To be correct: There is no such thing as "Duchess Meghan". The title is not tied to her name, it is tied to her husband and the region of Sussex. So, in correct terms it must either be "Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex" or else "Princess Henry/Harry". And before there will be a public cry out on "Princess Catherine" being used: it is technically wrong, too. Just for fairness' sake...
DeleteOn the first picture she is not wearing the same dress as on the second. The earrings are different too. I like her in the black and white one. She looks good. I probably would have changed the sandals which I do not like very much. Rose
ReplyDeleteThe first picture is from a completely different event, namely the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation Ripple of Hope Award Ceremony back in Dec 22. This got mixed up in several media outlets.
DeleteFirst of all: Happy Birthday! Second: I don't think anyone, not even the person with the most perfect body on the planet, would look good in a tube dress, let alone one with solid, contrasting stripes. But then again it's her birthday and I don't see why she shouldn't dress for comfort if that's her thing. Fashion-wise, it's a no from me.
ReplyDelete-Nika-
The Duchess looks stunning.
ReplyDeleteHer dress comes in at a pice of $US 239.00
Happy Birthday to Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex!
Penosa. Stefania
Agnes, Harry and Meghan ARE beloved members of the royal family, as stated in public pronouncements by King Charles and his late Mother, Queen Elizabeth. They are not working members and do not use the HRH, but they still posses the HRH.
DeleteRegardless whether I like Meghan or not the dress she wore would have been nice if it was a bit shorter.
ReplyDeleteAva
I actually think she looks great. The dress is causal smart and her shoes is a good fit. I also believe she is a royal and should stay on this page. She and Harry is a beautiful couple who had their fair and not so fair share of trouble in life. Let’s leave them to live their lives further on without all the comments from self righteous people.
ReplyDeleteThank you, could not have said it best! Mai
DeleteHarry and Meghan are not shy about making comments about anyone or anything.
DeleteThey complained about intrusions of privacy, and then did several public exposés of intimate details concerning their own family members.
The BRF did not publicly make disparaging remarks about the behavior of Meghan Markle’s own father.
H&M have behaved atrociously, without honor or respect, so now they should be exempt from public comment?
They are just rich, egoic people living an extravagant lifestyle, and are otherwise irrelevant. S.M.
Anon 17.39 Excellent comment. You make very valid points. Agree with you.
DeleteDear S.M. Nothing to say about fashion?
DeleteIf you want to do people bashing, there are many red hot, 'anti Sussexes' sites who would welcome you with open arms.
What a shocker!!
ReplyDeleteFirst, regardless of what anyone wishes to think, Harry and Meghan are royal. They are both HRH although they have chosen not to use the titles. Charles and officialdom would have to go through a process to remove the titles and this has not been done and no plans have been announced to do so. Second, the insistence that only working royals be in this page is ridiculous and only aimed at Meghan and Harry, which is clear prejudice. “Working royals only” would exclude the entire extended royal family, including Beatrice and Eugenie, Zara and Mike Tindall, the children of Sophie and Edward, Finally, Helen decides who appears and she does a great job managing this board.
ReplyDeleteAnd other older Royals who are not mentioned in your list.
Delete@ Ava P. Your analysis of outfits is always a must read. There is genuine knowledge of the fashion industry on display, the kind found in WWD. This one, not so much. Backhanded complimenting.
ReplyDeleteThis simple tube style dress and thong sandals are a perfect choice for an informal dinner in a beach community, especially when your husband chose a linen ensemble and sneakers. The black bands placed strategically to make the most of a woman's form (both the front and rear view) does it's job.
A woman off-duty from childcare etc. should be allowed to move through life unnoticed. How distressing to waste mental energy when choosing one's outfits to align with commenters 'tastes' (which should never be included in writings) when purchasing this or that.
Beverly
A happy 42nd Birthday to Meghan Dss of Sussex. The dress looks fine, maybe a bit shorter than this one would have been a bit nicer. Well OMO. css
ReplyDeleteVictoria of Sweden wore a similar dress, only the black stripes got smaller as they went up, she looked great in it. Meghan's dress tube is shapeless and she seems to have trouble walking in it.
ReplyDeleteShe looks very California chic. I like it.
ReplyDeleteThis! She looks perfect for where she is and what she is doing. There are even comments hating her sandals. Really? Do people not wear sandals?
DeleteNice expression "California chic"
DeleteAn appropriate way to sum it up.
@ Anonymous 7/8/23 01:52
DeleteI said I'd probably change the sandals, because I do not like them very much. I did not say I hate all the sandals in the world. There are other sandals I like very much but not the type Meghan wears. What is so strange about that. Besides I said I loved the rest of her outfit. Rose
Much a do about nothing; dress is more suited at the beach(Tabby)
ReplyDeleteHow so? Who dresses like that at the beach?
DeleteBeach dress; well when you have a yacht and go to the beach this is what you wear over your swim suit didn't you know that anon 20:40(Tabby)
DeleteOk, i hear you. My opinions is she can wear what she likes / wants. None of anybody business.
DeleteJessica
Going to the beach is sitting in the sand, going in the ocean, walking along the water's edge. A cover-up is generally loose, not an actual dress. I live on the coast and know many people with boats, but I am afraid I don't mingle with the yachting folks. I have only been on yachts a handful of times. Unless it was for a party, people were dressed casually.
DeleteCan we please stop behaving like mean bully's. First this is a fashion and royal blog. If you don't want to read about Meghan then don't read. The nastiness and hate we show here only tell what kind of person we are. So congratulations. The hate this couple get is astonishing. Why? Because some belive the lies and narrative the britisish tabloids has told us. Can't we grow up and start behaving like the adults we are supposed to be. Meghan look great. Nothing more needs to be said.
ReplyDeleteWell said. Let’s stop this kind of comments here. They don’t deserve it. They are good people.
DeleteAgree!
DeleteAs NewMyRoyals is a fashion blog and that some of us are more interested in fashion, its history, styles etc and not using the blog for people bashing, I’d suggest to take a look at what’s behind the ‘Posse’ fashion mark.
ReplyDeleteThey say that they’re slow fashion and re-inventing vintage.
The dress that the Duchess is wearing is one of their great classics.
As it’s an Australian company, I wonder if Princess Mary is one of their clients. The link is ………
https://possethelabel.com/pages/about-us-1
p.s. Their prices shown on the net are IMO quite reasonable.
Anybody else notice...she has bad bunions on her feet.
ReplyDelete🙄😤 … what else? What next?
DeleteOMG! is this the best comment you can make....Have you considered investing in getting a life!!!
DeleteThe shocking news that the Duchess of Sussex has bunions brought tears to my eyes. I had to make a VERY strong cup of tea (three tea bags) to help me from falling into a depression 😰
DeleteI think the Duchess has to accept that life can be cruel, especially if you have bunions 😥
@Deadeggs👍😂😂😂
DeleteDid you notice that Catherine’s bunions are even bigger? Should we ask them to each measure theirs so we can compare with absolute confidence? 😂😂😂
DeletePetra
Dear @ Deadeggs,
DeleteI have just read @ Petra's contribute about Catherine's bunions.
As I am rather shocked at the news and afraid I'm gonna fall into the deepest form of desperation I have ever experienced in my life, please could you keep the kettle going and add there more tea bags for me?
Thank you.
Gonna call in in no time😭
Poor, poor Catherine...
This is the typical " less is more style"of Meghan which I normally like. But this dress does not do much to her good figure. It's not fitting very well. And for me It's more a beach dress than a dress you would wear on your birthday on a nice evening out. For the rest It's quite annoying how people comment on her as a person in this blog. Do we really know her, no. So let's stop with this tabloid gossip
ReplyDeleteAgree with you.
DeleteTo anonymous - 15.47: Harry and Meghan are not allowed to use the HRH, it is not their choise!
ReplyDeleteI think she was pretty much a disgrace as a royal, but in this picture she looks absolutely good, healthy and tanned, and the dress is just right for the occasion and suits her very well.
ReplyDeleteThese people wanted nothing to do with the royal life, they said so, they said many mean, cruel, hurtful things to members of the family, (on both sides) and stepped away from being royals. He was a prince, she was a USA z-list actress. WHY is she featured on this fashion blog? They wanted a private life, yet call photographers to document everything they do. Oxymoron is a great way to describe that sort of behavior. Re the dress, its' not glamourous, or a classic, its just a standard summer dress that one wears, along with bunions and sandals. She did not want to do the work of a royal and complained, campaigned from the start to get them out of the family, yet continued to hurt the family, especially Queen Elizabeth, in the last years of her life. I watch day by day as the hard working royals, who do not make a fuss, just do the work, are hardly ever represented, and huge amounts of space given to those who do nothing. One might ask; if most of the regular royals that appear on this blog were not on summer vacations, would this photo have even appeared? I doubt it. Calling this woman a royal is a slap in the face to the hard working royals by birth, and royals by marriage who do a great deal of wonderful work on behalf of their countries. Janice. (wonder if this comment will get tossed in the bin, or published)
ReplyDeleteExcellent comment, you make very valid points and I agree whole heartly with you. Well said.
DeleteThis falls under "believing the version of the story that supports the side you are on". You give yourself away with one sentence: "He was a prince, she was a USA z-list actress." Harry IS a prince and there no such thing as a "z-list actress". Going to the end of the alphabet to exaggerate your point was not necessary. "B-list" would have been sufficient. Thanks for playing the speculation game, but you are on the wrong site. This is a fashion site. There are many other sites that love to theorize about what has gone on behind closed doors. I'm sure you would be more than welcome to join. Megan's birthday dress was on the other royal fashion sites I visit, so I don't know that you can escape it. I think you will have to learn to ignore the content you aren't interested in.
DeleteFeel better @Janice now that you've got that off your chest?
DeleteThanks for the news breaking information about The Duchesse's bunions. You could probably have the Daily Mail delivered to your door, you know.
Note: my comment was directly related to Anon 18:07 (Janice).
DeleteWell said! Very true! I think the Spotify Executive put it best, in his description of them as a couple! I shan’t quote it as it offensive language was used!
DeleteSo to see them flaunting their titles with is a slap in the face to those royals that go out and represent their countries in a honourable manner.
18.07:
ReplyDelete8.8. 18.07: Very good comment!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beach dress. But each it to their own. She obviously likes it!
ReplyDeleteGood to see the RF webpage has updated showing Harry no longer carries the HRH titles. It clears things up.
Whilst Meghan is out in the public domain, people will comment. I would suggest if you don’t like the comment scroll past it. As long as the comment doesn’t contain offensive language, there seems little need to have it policed! Bea
I think the moderator(s) allow all this nonsense that is written actually because there is not much news from the royals. They are all on vacation. I hope It will stop once the normal visits start again.
ReplyDeleteRose
Dear @Rose.
DeleteIn the northern hemisphere it’s summer and holiday time for a lot of people.
In the southern hemisphere it is winter and people are working ‘normally’.
And yes, activity, photos and availability of material is limited for blog managers/administrators.
So I think a nice bit of lighthearted fun doesn’t go a miss whilst we are waiting for Maxima to come back from Greece with her latest wow’s.
Sorry if what you call ‘nonsense’ annoys you.
It’s a bit like ‘when the cat’s away the mice will play’.
My dear old mum always said, “a day without a laugh is a day lost”.
Dear deadeggs (what a name)
DeleteI do not know very much kings and queens of the southern hemisphere. It does not annoy me at all that some are telling nonsense and I was certainly not thinking of you in particular but you must admit that sometimes it is exaggerated.
For your information Queen Maxima is coming back on August 28. I think she will going back to work pretty soon.
In my country it is "when the cat's away the mice are dancing", but the mice are keeping their mouth closed so they cannot tell much nonsense. Rose
Hello,@Janice.
ReplyDeleteI' d like you to write and essay on bunions, given that you seem to be well informed on this topic.
Thank you.
😂
DeleteIs there any relationship between bunions and onion soup?
DeleteJust wondering 😕
Dear@ Deadeggs,
Deleteyou are great!!👍👍😅
I must confess that I am intrigued by your question and yes, there might be a relationship at least as to the aspect of bunions/ onions and the unexpected rhyme between the two words.
Could there be a relationship between bunions, onions and onion rings too?
Mumble...🤔
I don't know.
Unfortunately, I lack expertise both on bunions and related surgery and onion- based dishes.
I wish that somebody more acquainted with bunions could rush in and help us tackle this most confusing topic.
Dear @ Janice???
Where are you???
Could you please give detailed information about bunions and...onions???
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed waiting for a qualified reply!
Thank you.
May I present myself as an expert on bunions? I have been suffering with them for years. I probably should have surgery, but have put it off as I heard the bunions just come back. Anyway, I seriously doubt Meghan or Catherine has bunions. If they do, they are a very mild form or they have some other foot issue. Both women, as I can tell, are wearing shoes a true bunion sufferer cannot possibly wear. (Unless, of course, they inject themselves with some type of steroid pain killer.) Both Catherine and Meghan wear the high stiletto types with a narrow pointed toe box. There are only a handful of shoe designs that a true bunion sufferer can wear. These shoes must have a wide toe box, no pointed, and a leather that the foot can expand, if needed. They, meaning me, must have no higher than one-and-a half-inch heel. Preferably the "kitten" heel. Why is that? The higher the heel, the more pressure is put on the bunion which increases pain. I'm probably not allowed to mention the names of the manufacturer, but I will give you a hint. Queen Camilla, as has been reported, suffers from bunions and it has been reported she only wears one shoe design. Google this and you can get the name.To repeat, I doubt very seriously Meghan has bunions.
ReplyDeleteBunions run in my family. Fortunately, I did not inherit the problem, but one of my sisters did. She had surgery on both feet when she was 16. If done correctly, and you take care of your feet, they won't come back. Apparently, Meghan has scars on at least one foot, indicating that she had corrective surgery.
DeleteI think we have exhausted everything related to Meghan now. Hopefully the trolls will put their magnifying glasses away and move on. There can't be anything else to see, real or imagined.
Please don’t dream @Anon 22:18.
DeleteThe gutter press and the tabloids just have to mention the Duchess’s name and the money rolls in from the sale of their sleazy publications.
They’re still squeezing as hard as they can to get the last drops of juice out of the lemon.
I have already submitted this, but it hasn't shown up. I don't know what I did wrong. Anyway, I would like to present myself as a bunion expert. I have been suffering from them for many years. I do not believe Meghan suffers from bunions. She could have a mild form of them or some other issue, but in my opinion there is no way she could wear the shoes she wears if she were a true bunion sufferer. The photos I see of her she is in stilettos with pointed toes. Bunion victims have to wear shoes with a wide toe box and no pointed fronts. They should be of a supple material that allow room for the bunion to sit comfortably. Heels should be no higher than one- and-half. Why is that? Because the higher the heel, the more pressure on the bunion and, thus, more pain. There are only a handful of shoe companies that cater to bunion victims. Some say they do, but don't waste your money. My shoe rack is testament to those I tried. For the good ones, be prepared to spend at least $150-200 dollars. There are a couple of good sites that will give names of these companies.. But there are only about two or three for a dress pump. Queen Camilla reportedly suffers from them. Her shoe design has been published. But I'm not sure I'm allowed to mention it here. Just google this and the name will pop up. I considered surgery, but apparently in some cases the bunions return. And I haven't been in the mood to pursue it. So I stick with the wide shoe box and that helps. Check out Queen Camilla's shoes, you'll see what I mean. She wears a beige pair quite often. And the ones she wears, are within reach of middle-class budgets.
ReplyDeleteFunny ;-)))
DeleteIt’s sure interesting how Meghan manages to garner lots of comments :)
ReplyDeleteHate will always do that 😉
