Nice to see her out with her handsome grandsons. She looks good. Pretty scarf but I think her sautoir is a bit too long for her.

Indeed, it seems like years since I saw her on this website.

To T: Paola was actually present, with her husband, at the National Day Celebrations, on 21st July. And this year she carried out several public engagements (see the Belgian Royal Palace social media and website), despite her health problems

A very classy lady, always dressed well. Age has not diminished her beauty.

  4. Nice to see Queen Paola still carrying out royal duties.
She is 86 years old and is of Italian origins.
Dressed correctly for this sad occasion.
In her youth, she was hailed as one of the leading beauties of Europe.
Would be nice to know if her necklace (sautoir) has any significance.
    (Good morning Tulipe33).
    She has handsome grandsons.

      Exactly, @ Deadeggs.
Queen Paola, nee Paola Ruffo di Calabria,- an Italianol region in southern Italy- belonged to the aristocratic family of the Ruffo di Calabria (it is just part of her descendance).
You can still see the beautiful residence of the Ruffo di Calabria located on a sort of high hill in Scilla (Calabria)
I saw it once, very interesting.
Besides, Scilla Is a very picturesque town and the sea Is just spectacular especially at sunrise at sunset.
Paola was really hailed as one of the most outstanding beauties in Europe when she was young.
Nice to see her grandsons escorting her on this commemoration event.
A very , very sad occasion indeed, a mining disaster which will never be forgotten.

Queen Paola has recovered well from all her health problems. On the video I saw in the Belgian media she walks better and better with her walking stick. She was very much loved by the Italian coal miner's that worked in Belgium. They could talk to her in their own language. She is the right person to be at the Commemoration in Marcinelle. She looks lovely in her navy dress. The white long necklace brings a bit of contrast. Rose

  7. Aymeric and Nicolas are children of Laurent and Claire. They are giants, and she is now so small. Very courageous from her, but she felt she had to come because most victims were Italian.
