Princess Anne attended one of the final rehearsals of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo before its official opening night that will take place on Friday 4 August. The Princess watched artistic performances by international military bands on the parade ground, and then she met some of the performers and support staff taking part in this year’s event.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo was established in 1950 and usually takes place every year in August on the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle, to a live audience of 220,000. This year, the event will be held from 5 August to 27 August.
Très jolies couleurs de cet écossais mais il manque un peu de tenue ; c'est la première fois que je vois de près ses lunettes qu'elle a l'air d'adorer !
ReplyDeleteI love Princess Anne’s style;the sunglasses look cool.(Tara)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great smile the Princess Royal has. Just like her mother. Love the navy and red colour combo. And she’s not wearing gloves! If the shoes were a little bit higher the outfit would be perfect

whiter teeth needed
DeleteDear 19.02, natural teeth and no "hollywood bleaching"! Totally fine for me.
DeleteThose glasses! If they were more traditional to go with her outfit and she bleached her teeth a bit...
ReplyDeleteStop that ;)
DeletePlease she does not need to bleach her teeth, there is no need for her to look like an American actress.
DeleteIt is not only in Hollywood that women love to have white teeth. Nowadays men/women are looking after their teeth by using twice or 3 times a day a toothpaste adapted to their type of teeth. If you do not smoke and you go to the dentist every six month you do not have to bleach your teeth.
DeleteI don't see what American actresses have to do with that.
14.09, so you know nothing about theeth...
DeleteNow here is a woman than dresses for the occasion, comfort, nice earrings and carries a tube of lipstick to brighten her face. She doesn’t fuss over herself and always looked nice and trim
ReplyDeleteWhy is she wearing sunglasses speaking to others? That is rude.
ReplyDeleteNot if one has light sensitivity or cataracts forming or recent eye treatment. Renee
DeleteI agree. There is not much sun and she is dressed for colder weather, so why wearing sun glasses ?
DeletePossibly her eyes are sensitive!
DeleteThere are eyedrops for that but I think she does not take good care of herself. Eyes, hair, teeth she doesn't care at all.
DeleteI love tartan. Anyone know which one she is wearing?

Love this look! From the glasses to no gloves, but especially that huge smile. She is a master at classic clothing. What great pics.

The Princess Royal Anne, is lovely, classy, dignified, and never fails to do due her duties, even as she ages gracefully, she is always a pleasure to see and listen to. What a wonderful sense of humor she has. Annie
ReplyDeleteSomehow this outfit reminds me of the nuns at my school. I do mine tartan a lot but with these shoes, it doesn’t look good ! I hate the glasses. They don’t fit the rest. Maybe she came by bike :-).
ReplyDelete@Anon19:54: I get the same vibes.
DeleteI imagine her being the headmistress of an upper class girls boarding school in Scotland. 😊
This is a good look for the Pss Royal. It must be cool in Scottland; she seems to be dressed warm. css
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful see Princess Anne out and about! She is looking marvelous--love her outfit, especially the tartan skirt. She is absolutely radiant in the 4th photo--what a beautiful smile!

The Princess Royal looks fabulous, as always smart and the tartan I love! Her teeth are a natural color, progression of age. Unfortunately with the popular whitening, bleaching of teeth that we see today so much, some people forget that this is so unnatural. The Princess Royal teeth look fine.
ReplyDeleteIts wonderful to see her at events such as this. She has such an amazingly full workload, which she does with little fanfare and fuss.
I admire her greatly, she is very inspirational. Its a shame this is not mentioned more often, instead of comments about other things such as her teeth. Yes, its a fashion blog, but to acknowledge her work ethic and loyalty, should not be lost instead of ridicule. Sincerely.
You made such good points that I can only totally agree with you.
DeleteYes, Princess Anne deserves only admiration for her work ethocs and dedication, so reminiscent of her Mother's lifelong service to Her country and the Commonwealth.
I think fashion talks are just of secondary importance in this case..
Princess Anne would have to be the "so English" of all the royal princesses 😁
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I noticed was that Anne was not wearing gloves this time. How nice! As for her outfit, I am guessing it is something she has had for decades. It is classic and simple in design. She looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteSome of these comments are off the rails. Why are her teeth being picked on? That is so rude. Out of curiosity, is it really assumed that the only people that whiten their teeth are Hollywood actors and actresses? It is the most normal thing in the world. We are a society that has become so accustomed to straight, white teeth that crooked, dingy, yellow or brown teeth have become off putting and aging. Most people these days use whitening toothpaste. Whitening devices can be used at home. It doesn't have to be done professionally. It is certainly not a bad thing to have your smile worked on. The Queen most likely did at some point, and Camilla certainly seems to have as well. You would remove the stains from your clothes, why not your teeth? If it is something you choose to do, good for you. I just don't get pointing out Anne's teeth.
Lastly, it is not rude to wear sunglasses when speaking to someone. If anyone knows their etiquette, it is Anne. There can be many reasons for wearing sunglasses, not the least of which is sensitivity to bright light. As a chronic migraine sufferer, I wear them all the time. Light is one of my triggers. We now know to protect our eyes from UVA/UVB rays. Anne may be thinking of her eye health. They could be prescription. It doesn't matter. Stop finding things wrong when there is nothing wrong to find.
She reminds me a lot of Princess Margaret. I find her one of the more interesting members of the British royalty. I always have the impression that she speaks het mind
ReplyDeleteI think Anne looks a lot like Princess Margaret too.
DeleteWhen you look at the women in uniform, then Princess Anne’s attire from the waist down, including the practical shoes etc., is very harmonious and makes her more approachable. However, the general impression is still that of a lady who is overly frugal and who needs a makeover, otherwise there is no magic, this fine line that makes royalty special, however virtuous their other qualities might be. Of course age is a factor, the late queen was so perfectly groomed that it was a delight to look at her, right until her final days.
