On July 15, 2023, The Princess of Wales attended day thirteen of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. The Princess chatted with Wimbledon staff including a ball girl and ball boy. The Princess of Wales watched Czech player Marketa Vondrousova take on Tunisian Ons Jabeur. The Princess wore a pastel green gown by Self Portrait.

Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore Pearl Earrings
Not my favorite outfit.
ReplyDeleteI guess I just don't like pleated skirts.

Magnifique tenue en mousseline de couleur vert anis très rafraîchissante ; bon choix que ces boucles d'oreilles en perles !
ReplyDeleteToo much vintage to me
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteWhat a bright, cheery look on the PoW. Love the color.

À seldom occurring miss: at least 10 years above her age,
ReplyDeleteMabel
Oh completely!
Deletemaxi skirts and dresses are here to stay.
ReplyDeleteI think so !
DeleteWhat a nice and fresh colour - gorgeous with these earrings!
ReplyDeleteThese earrings suit more for an elderly lady! Something a grand-mother would wear!
DeleteSR
Lovely summer dress, just right for the occasion. Catherine looks stunning in 99.99% of what she wears. A beautiful woman, inside and out. Edwina
ReplyDeleteReally? 😂😂
DeleteYes, really. "polite smile" to someone who cannot leave their name, or nickname. Edwina
DeleteSo funny.
DeleteBea.
99.99% subjective it becomes ridiculous.
DeleteAnd i am someone who do not dislike Kate’s classic style.
Soph.
Lovely colour for Wimbledon. But that is about it. Again an outfit that ages Catherine. And that's a pity. She is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteA classic but classy outfit in a summery colour, I like it. Love the earrings and her hairstyle and especially her make-up today.
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit and her accessories even down to the lovely bangle she is wearing. The hair no it’s, I can’t put my finger on. She looks tired.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit in a lovely color. It is called a dress, but it looks like a two-piece to me.
ReplyDeleteLadyofthemanor
What a lovely and fresh summer outfit! Catherine looks beautiful and the color is perfect for Wimbledon. Love her hairstyle today too. I saw a photo of the back and the pinning is so intricate. The loose waves are very feminine and perfectly match the vibe from her outfit. The earrings are another perfect addition to this whole look--only something in a button-style would look really right here. I also like her slingbacks--glad to see she's wearing them again.

Boooring!
ReplyDelete😂👍
Deleteyes your comment rachel was boooring!
DeleteThat’s not boring but classic classy outfit …what do you want Catherine to wear …she is not a celebrity or a model, she is the Princess of Wales
DeleteGreet, maybe something more up to date like the queen of Spain or CP Mary of Denmark ?!
DeleteAnonymus 21:14: is this you again?
DeleteAlways just stating : boring.
Starts to get boring,
Mabel
Come on Ms Boooring 21:14 - we all know by now that these are the only words you seem able to utter. What did you expect from an official engagement as the royal patron at Wimbledon including Trophy Ceremony? A sloppy, crumpled linen suit with shorts? Have you ever seen her predecessor, the Duchess of Kent, when she presented the winners with the trophies? No? Pity then.
DeleteBeing PoW does not mean wearing classic clothes that age 10 years at your early 40s. Look at the late PoW if not other royals around her age!
DeleteNow, people have various opinions. Her fans should let other express their viewpoints too.
A.K.
Very nice look again today. Pleaded skirt's look very nice if one is very slender, and the PoW fits the bill. css
ReplyDeleteMy first thoughts were, and still remain: Lovely outfit and lovely colour. Catherine looks fresh and beautiful.
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
My first thought from a still photo was that the skirt was too long but when I saw the Princess walk out on to the court, one could appreciate the beautiful moment of the skirt. It was an unusually windy day and the long skirt with belted
Deletetop avoided any potentially embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions 😀
AnnieM
I think her dresses and skirts are often too long. Some people seem to regret her earlier style, I think they would criticize if she were sticking on that earlier style, but vintage is trendy whether we like it or not. That is probably why we prefer har casual style, wearing trousers. For Wimbledom she could have gone for trousers.
Delete@AnnieM Yes my comments were also base after seeing video footage. Photos don't capture movement or motion to get the feel of the clothes.

Catherine gets points for the hair. I'm glad to finally see it in at least a half-up, it suits her well! The outfit... it's a no from me. Yes, she looks impeccable, it suits her and the colour is interesting, but it's boring. And something I'd expect Princess Michael of Kent or somebody at least in their 60s or 70s to wear. I suppose she could get away if she paired it with more interesting accessories, like the model's metallic slingbacks or some interesting earrings. But the pearls unfortunately go a little too well with the "old lady" theme.
ReplyDelete-Nika-
I totally agree with you!
DeleteWell said Nika. 👏
DeleteMary
Not a fan. I'm sorry for the tennis player. What a disappointment.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit fits well, is elegant looking but I feel its a bit aging. Love the pleats of the skirt, on movement the skirt looks gorgeous. Love her shoes. Regardless of my tastes the Princess looks well groomed and elegant.
ReplyDeleteThis looks very dated to me. My mother wore something very similar in the early 90s, even in the same color. I find myself wanting to see her in timeless silhouettes such as simple sheaths and pencil skirts that can be changed into any number of different looks depending on the styling.
ReplyDeleteYes we agree on this … 80s-90s fashion trend.
DeleteCatherine gets it right again beautiful .Mary
ReplyDeleteI like it, from head to toe, she looks very classy and I think perfect for Wimbledon.
ReplyDeleteLuna
I don't like this ensemble by Self-Portrait. She has other of that brand which are prettier. The bouclé fabric for the summer is not a good idea. The skirt is too long as usual. The green color is not bad but too pale for Catherine, a stronger green would have been better. Rose
ReplyDeleteThis is Tennis Ball green. It may be all it took for her to choose it for this day.
DeleteAnon. 16/7 23:03 To me tennis ball's are more in a neon yellow. Not this lime green as is written under the picture of the model. Rose
DeleteVery “Wimbledon” 1920’s look.
ReplyDeleteLove it, SUPERB.
It sort of is, isn't it? People around here, commenting the outfit came across as "boring" need to do more research on the matter. It is an extremely classic, yet vintage look, indeed.
DeleteWhen we can read mixed comments on other blogs, it’s more interesting to hear and see people respecting various opinions. We can say Victoria’s bun is boring or Maxima’s outfit is ridiculous, their fans would not react the same way as here.
DeleteIt becomes really ‘boring’ on the blog relating to Kate when fans only accept the word ‘perfect’ or aggressively fight back. that narrow-minded attitude is a pity.
Claire
Yes, I think that the key point of discussion - and what some people do not know at all due to lack of knowledge or anything else I'd better not mention here- is that Princess Kate's outfit Is very " Wimbledon" in all of its features.
DeleteIf one haa never heard before about what ladies and royalty have worn throughout different petiods of time to this event, of course they can't read much in this pics.
They can just complain without knowing what they are talking abou.t
Short sleeves spoils the style of a jacket and the pleated skirt does not look good with the upper part. I don't think the hair style is the best for the shape of her face. -Siri
ReplyDeleteVery elegant! 41 years old - and still look like that!
ReplyDeleteNot really
DeleteShe looks so pretty and elegant in this outfit. I love the skirt!! The top says "I'm all business" but the skirt says "let the party begin"!! And the color says "It's SUMMER" !!
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of the color!!!
Delete@mary
DeleteEXACTLY.
And the Princess is, with her ensemble, showing tribute to the century old fashion tradition of Wimbledon.
Some of the turn of the century Wimbledon ladies’ photos can be seen via
https://ladyswingblog.wordpress.com/2018/06/03/tennis-girl/
I looked again to discover what displeases me here: I think it is the colour of the shoes that adds nothing and makes the yellow- green a bit flat.
ReplyDeleteÀ daring colour like green or ( Wimbledon) purple for the shoes would make the overall impression more youthful.
Mabel
The color of this outfit is very pretty. The skirt and hair are way too long and do not go together. The hairstyle is appropriate for a prepubescent girl but the outfit itself is grandmotherly.
ReplyDelete@ Anon. 16/7 14:22
DeleteI know a lot of grandmothers who are dressed much more up-to-date than this.
Also the earrings are often old fashion. This pair f.ex. are copy's of earrings I had in the 80es-90es.(Mine were not real pearls or real gold of course). Rose
I wouldn't give all the grandmothers that read these comments on "grandmotherly outfits" to eat. I think that the majority of grandmothers these days are wearing up to date clothes, shoes and jewelry. The earrings Kate is wearing are copy's of old fashion earrings that were in fashion in the 70's - 80's. (I am not talking about the real thing like saffires and diamonds).
