The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh attended the NHS anniversary service at Westminster Abbey, as part of the health service's 75th anniversary celebrations. The National Health Service (NHS) marks 75 years since it was founded as the Western world's first universal, free healthcare system. The National Health Service Act came into effect on 5 July 1948.
Earlier in the day, The Duchess opened the King's Academy in London, which is a new education and training academy for nurses, midwives and allied healthcare professionals.
Suzannah Adela Tea Dress
ME+EM Polka-Dot Maxi Dress
The white dress with black detail is a lovely summer fashion choice and she looks great. A black belt would have been too severe, so I think it's styled wonderfully. I'm not quite as sold on the floral. Somehow that style of dress always makes Sophie look...frumpy. I think it's because she makes an effort for her clothing not to fit too tight, and so sometimes it's not tailored as well as it could be. Great hair on both occasions.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely, the soft pink and flowers of Sophie’s dress, combines so good with her blond hair and blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteThe white dress is lovely too,
Mabel
I agree, length of dresses is ok here, often too long.
DeleteSuzannah Adela Tea Dress is perfect and the white a is too long.
DeleteI really love Sophie and I think both of these outfits are winners. It's striking how approachable and down-to-earth she looks compared to Catherine today. No shade to either of these ladies, I think the Princess of Wales is stunning, but recently dresses very costume-y and formulaic.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the crisp white dress. It reflects the current weather, the polka dots are not overly "in your face" and I can totally see her rewear this dress with sneakers or espadrilles on one of her many trips abroad. The pink florals are also pretty and most suited for the occasion. Love her necklace and the pink nail polish. And lovely hair in both cases!

Why putting one lady down to uplifting another, shame on you, we women should stick together
DeleteWrt Catherine, I think she has been coming across as anything but unapproachable — in fact, for some time now I’ve missed the “old” Catherine; I think some awful pr people got to her a few months ago and now it’s all touchy-feely and constant grinning and guffawing. Poor girl should just be herself. (There, it felt good to finally get that off my chest, lol.)
DeleteI'm not putting either woman down. I was merely commenting on their different approaches to fashion and how I personally prefer one look over the other. That has zero to do with the women wearing these clothes.

The coronation in Edinbourgh is on a whole different level of formality - not for being approachable and down-to earth.
DeleteOh no! She’s opting for the same boring fashion style of Kate now! These types of dress … especially the pink one with flowers show no class! Sorry to disagree with the fans who think it’s stunning. Not this time!
DeleteI think both dresses are lovely. They fit well and the colours are flattering. D.Sophie is such a photogenic woman. She just glows! (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteLove the pink floral dress. Less keen on the white one but it’s okay
ReplyDeleteAnnieM
I like both dresses for different reasons (I llike the pink one a bit more). But in addition to that, both dresses suggest summer, and both fit the Duchess well - and that's good enough for me.

Normally I do not like Suzannah dresses but this one is an exception. It is fresh and the pink flowers make it summery. I love the cut and the length too. The white polka dot dress is a no for me. The waist in the front is too high. The black buttons almost until the hemline I don't like. It is probably too long which I cannot see from the pictures. Sophie's hair is lovely but she should be aware that the length is arriving at a critical point now. Or you let it grow longer and longer or if she wish to keep a certain length it is time to do a little haircut.
ReplyDeleteBoth dresses look lovely. Suiting the Duchess beautifully. She looks beautiful, always smiling, and engaging.
ReplyDeleteThe white dress is a lovely summery dress and I love the fabric. I don't like the sleeves of the floral dress. In the first picture they make the whole dress look a size too large. Lovely colour for summer .

Ah non, la robe à fleurs même si elle est très estivale n'avantage pas la silhouette de Sophie surtout au niveau des manches ; je préfère carrément la blanche à très petits pois qui ont l'air tendance dans la famille royale anglaise !
ReplyDeleteI would have worn the white-ish dress the NHS ceremony in the Abby to let the religious robes and decor rule the show.
ReplyDeleteAnd used the gayness of the flower dress for the morning celebration of the King's Academy.
But that’s just my personal taste.
Two marvelous fashion choices for Sophie! She looks beautiful in both. So sweet that Edward's tie coordinated with Sophie's dress.

Not particularly fond of either dress. The flowery print is way too large, and the white dress is too plain.
ReplyDeleteDss Sophie today with 2 dresses. I like the flowery much better. css
