On July 25, 2023, Princess Kako of Japan attended the 57th All-Japan High School Equestrian Competition opening ceremony at the Gotemba Equitation Sports Center in Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture. The Gotemba Competition Center is an used to host many national equestrian competitions. Japanese Princess Kako gave a speech at the opening ceremony.
It is unfortunate that Princess Kako has to wear such an old fashioned lace dress, she is so pretty and young, but she still looks lovely and elegant.

it wouldnt be so bad if it was a wedding or evening reception. with different shoes and colored jacket
DeleteWhat a contrast with the good looking outfit she wore on July 17. Lucky her hairstyle didn't change and her lovely smile. Rose
ReplyDeleteI love seeing Kako out and about. She always looks so engaged and approachable. Fashion-wise, this is a nice jacket and she's clearly doing her best given the restrictions at the Japanese court.

Japan in general has beautiful designs in everything, simple and very modern. Less is more. But these Japanese royals are so very outdated in their style and therefore so very very boring. The young royals are really not very good representatives of this time.
ReplyDeleteThey do not represent this time and they do not have to. They represent traditional Japanese values. We do not have to share or even to fully understand these values in order to respect them without judgement. (GM)
DeleteAnon 20:58: you seem to know Japan and it’s valies. Which values do these clothes represent ?
DeletePss Kako looks lovely. This white ensemble looks great on her. I would have liked to see a little pop of color, with pastel-colored shoes and bag. That is OMO of course. css
ReplyDeleteClassic perfection. I so much appreciate that not all the world follows the one fashion trend! Vive les différences!
ReplyDeleteYep, vivre les différences.
DeleteWhen her time comes to marry, they will be losing another great asset to their family. I can't see her marrying a family member for the sake of preserving the line. It would be so nice to see the rules relaxed for her, at least as her attire is concerned, as an experiment to see how the public would accept some more modern changes.
ReplyDeleteAs alwyas, Kako is lovely. I like her outfit except for my usual dislike of white shoes on anyone but a bride--her dress and jacket are beautifully tailored the lace dress is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteJanet
She is simply delightful, a beautiful bubbly young lady and princess. She looks very elegant in this outfit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely young lady. Always a pleasure to see her!
ReplyDeleteDear GM, Your comment is excellent, especially the „understanding“ aspect. However, the shoes could be more stylish and would give the whole outfit an uplift without disturbing the general dignity, as defined by you.

Once again Virginia you have identified what I could not put words to. The colour of the shoe is not the problem, it is the style of the shoe. Maybe a pointier toe would open up the look. I do like the classic clothes.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. She looks wonderful without unnecessarily showing off and exposing skin to prove how fit she is. Keeps to royal standards.
