On July 7, 2023, King Felipe, Queen Letizia and Crown Princess Leonor of Spain attended the appointment ceremony of the new officers of the Army and the Civil Guard, at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza. The ceremony was held for those who have been appointed as new officers of the Army as a result of completing their training at the General Military Academy and at the respective specific academies.
The Military Academy is the center responsible in the Army for the teaching of general and specific military training, for the corresponding technical training and for the training of fundamental specialties. It also directs and manages the living conditions of the students.
Barey Collection Sevilla polka-dot top and skirt
Felipe Varela Army jacket
Both HM Q Letitia and HRH P of Asturias look wonderful. Both skirt/top outfits are perfect - the right amount of formality and respect for the occasion, but perfect for summer. And, I’m in total admiration of their ability to look so cool and collected in such hot weather, especially HM K Felipe- he must be roasting, but you’d never know it!

Completely agree.

This is more like it! Leonor looks great in her polka dot top/skirt. I do wish she had kept the longer, swishy skirt but understand her restyled look is more practical and re-wearable. Letizia looks fabulous in her white jacket and skirt. Her nod to the occasion with her Varela Army-style jacket is perfect.

Some nice summery looks for both mother and daughter.
ReplyDeleteWhile I think that a shorter length is appropriate for CP Leonor, I think that the dress loses a lot from being shorter, in combination with her particular sizing. The longer skirt balances the extra fabric on the bodice. The dress looks good on the model, but not quite the same on Leonor. Letizia on the other hand, looks perfect as usual.

Queen Letizia looks espectacular! And the infanta appropriated for the day miss the wow factor in her, but she is doing great. And the King... Well as handsome as ever!
ReplyDeleteLuna
The infanta is her sister Princess Sofia.
DeleteInfanta or infante (male) are the children of the King that are not the heir...she is the Crown Princess, so , no infanta.
DeleteSofÃa is not a Princess, because she is not a heir. She has the same rank as a Princess though.
DeleteI think Leonor’s dress would have looked better in the longer length the model is wearing. Leonor looks a little frumpy in the knee length version.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't put my finger on it but you've said it, Gwenneth. Princess Leonor looks okay but the dress is just a little frumpy at this length along with the flat shoes with the strap. Queen Letizia, on the other hand, looks amazing
DeleteLeonor looks lovely, but the shoes that she is wearing look like little girls shoes. She is old enough to wear adult shoes.
DeleteBoth are looking lovely ! Guapas !
ReplyDeleteIs this a dress from Letizia's closet? It sure looks like it. A bit grown-up, but it suits Leonor's role and the occasion. She'll still grow into it. As for Letizia, I liked this "suit dress" the first time she wore it and I still love it now. It's the perfect cross between business and formal attire.

The two-piece dress is new for the Princess, but it does look like it’s something HM Q Letizia would like too.

Ravissantes toutes les deux même si j'aime beaucoup Leonor dans l'association de son top/jupe à pois ; super élégante la veste militaire de Letizia qui peut se porter aussi bien avec un pantalon qu'une jupe droite !
ReplyDeleteBoth RL look very lovely. Leonor from cute baby to sophisticated, young women. css
ReplyDeleteComparisons with how the model wears the dress are tricky in this case. I don't think that Leonor's sizing plays a role at all. But she has to stand upright, at least we don't see her moving, so she cannot cannot present fancy poses displaying the flowy character of the dress like the model does. I am quite happy that both of them wear a shorter length. (GM)
ReplyDeleteAgree, Guapas !
DeleteCP Leonor looks lovely and so happy, engaging, she is doing wonderfully. Queen Letizia looks superb, beautiful two piece outfit, her shoes are gorgeous!, she has such great shoe game!
ReplyDeleteAlways look forward to your analysis. PL is doing well. This is her first true meaningful outing and she is doing well. You can see the thought process that went into her outfit and the height of her heel. QL always fabulous, and again the outfit is suitable for the occasion.

Q. Letizia looks so cool and crisp in her white suit! Her arms are amazing!! C.P. Leonor looks nice too.
ReplyDeleteIt could be coincidence but what did I say the other day ? Infanta Sofia is not present and CP Leonor is wearing flats. Despite the shoes she is almost taller than her mother wearing little heels or normal heels (cannot see it this time). Maybe she really became taller since her stay in Wales. After all she is a daughter of her father just like her sister. Rose..
ReplyDeleteThe P. of Asturias is wearing kitten heels - about 2” / 6 cm. They do look like flats from the front and I thought so too until I saw a side view elsewhere online.

@Anya. You are right . In the meantime I also found a picture on another site where one has a better look on Leonor's shoes. The shoes have indeed a little heel. My whole theory about the shoes is broken into pieces then.
DeleteWhy the focus on how tall she is? No one will care how tall her mother is when she sits in meetings with heads of state or international companies.

I don't see any reason to focus on heels, and their height. History will remember the princesses are tall like their father. Maybe some walking was involved in this ceremony.
