On July 26, 2023, King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the Sandringham Flower Show 2023 at Sandringham House in Norfolk. The show, which marks its 140th exhibition this year, was started by Charles's great-grandfather, King Edward VII on the grounds of the royal family's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. Profits from the prestigious horticultural event benefit local charities.
Joli imprimé déjà porté ; la ceinture incorporée apporte une petite touche élégante ; j'aime beaucoup le look du roi dans une tenue très estivale jusque dans le chapeau !
ReplyDeletePleasant rewear Nice colour, usual style 😀
ReplyDeleteIf I take a step back and look at Camilla’s fashion flair, I think of the 15 century proverb “you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear”.

The Queen was not willing to change from her loungewear into something just a little bit smarter, I think.
QCamilla’s dress is a very flattering cut and green always looks good on pale blondes (says this pale blonde). So I think this dress looks great on Camilla, however, i also think the queen and king should stand out more in a crowd. I’m sure KCharles has set the tone for the royals to follow in dress as in all other respects. And that is his right, of course. It’s clear he’s doing things a little differently than his mother. I guess I just don’t understand what his thought process is in making the King and Queen less visible. Hopefully, when he has settles into his role, at some point he will share his thoughts about this kind of stuff. I find it interesting. :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty green floral shirtwaist dress on QC. Perfect choice for a flower show.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Exactly. Perhaps a little bit boring but perhaps for the occassion.
DeleteDress boring, she needs to wear brighter cheery colours in the middle of summer ;makeup nice. Charles looks dapper(Tara)
ReplyDeleteThis is probably my favorite day dress of Camillas; just the fact that it is not solid white or solid blue is refreshing, but there are other appealing aspects to it. Even though it is a dark print (and I love the charcoal and green together), It has a lighter feeling about it, somehow, than her usual dresses — a lighter-weight fabric, perhaps? The tie-belt is a different and flattering touch, too. — Jane
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree, the style of the dress is very flattering on her. The shirt dress style with the tie belt needs to be seen more often on her. And the color is great, not only with her complexion and hair, but for the occasion. And their sunglasses are perfect.

this is just ridiculous! i suppose we should be grateful its not blue

This simple day dress fits well and looks nice on the Queen. The pattern of the fabric is quite attractive.
ReplyDeleteCamilla has her own style which is so very suitable for her. Esp the always wider skirt around the waist. I would like to ask special attention yo her always perfect haircut which makes her face so open and friendly. But today I think Charles is the best dressed with his swinging hat and besutiful summier costume. And what I always see with this couple they must share a lot of humour. It's a lovely couple
ReplyDeleteAgree !!
DeleteI cannot exactly point out why and how this dress is so much better than Camilla's similar other dresses - I suspect it could be that she has a more pronounced waistline in it and this looks good. This is, besides the one with the feather pattern, is maybe my favourite everyday dress of Camilla, she simply looks more pretty in it than in other dresses. Good length, good waistline, nice pattern, really good cool colours. I am also not really sure if she has to" stand out in a crowd" if there is not crowd at all :-)), because she is either interacting with the people in a direct way or there is nobody else there to compete with because she is doing a walkabout ... The late Queen always wore cheery colours, but this is not something that has to go down for centuries as a royal tradition? (GM)
ungeheuer
Oh my. Whenever I see Camilla and Charles, who seem so incredibly comfortable together, I think they should have married right away and spared themselves and others years, if not decades, of unhappiness.
ReplyDeleteBut since this is a fashion blog - I do like her dress. :-)
I agree on all accounts. Her style of daywear for not overly formal events is just extremely laid-back. A dress with some sort of print, a pair of stockings/tights, a pair of shoes, a handbag, and off she goes. Good for her.
DeleteI agree in all points! anna e.

DeleteThis shirt dress is very pretty. I can see Camilla going to a relaxed PRIVATE garden part in this outfit. She is not a minor royal, she is the Queen Consort, and these shirt dresses, especially those with the zippers, simply disappoint. Less visibility is fine with me, but a midway must be found between the new concept and the sartorial role of the queen. The public expects more, otherwise people will become indifferent. I have often quoted Princess Benedikte, but I also think of Queen Silvia and Queen Sonja. No high fashion, but subtle elegance at all events.

Virginia - I appreciate and agree with your comments. It would be great to see the Queen step up her visibility, she deserves it as does the monarchy!
DeleteI like the dress, it fits well, the belt tie makes this one of the better dresses she wears. I couldn’t put my finger on her style until I read Virginia’s comment above, it lacks elegance. Having said that I like that she wears a dress that suits her well, flatters her figure and she looks happy and comfortable in.
ReplyDeleteOn another site they say that Camilla’s dress is a bespoke model by the Fiona Clare fashion house in London.

Lovely dress. css
ReplyDeleteThey both look very well and relaxed, it’s great to see. The Queen looks lovely in her dress, I like the tie in the front it gives her more shape. She may not be as young anymore, but she still has great legs and this length of hem shows them off perfectly. Glad to see them happy and not so stressed as they looked at the coronation, they looked ready to join our late Queen.
ReplyDeleteGood tailoring and it fits Camilla well. I still don’t like it overall, because of the dark and depressing print. If at least one colour would be a little bit more cheerful, it would make a big difference.
ReplyDeleteOn the comments around Charles and Camilla getting married upfront, William and Harry might have a different perspective. Just saying

Yes, I agree the colours of the Queen’s dress are rather dowdy. Possibly good for late autumn. But less so for mid summer. And whilst the cut and fit are good, overalls it’s not a good idea.
