On July 9, 2023, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan attended the opening ceremony of the 22nd World Congress of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFACI) at PACIFICO Yokohama in Kanagawa. The IFACI, founded in September 1957, is a multinational federation of National Member Organizations, each one representing the engineering and scientific societies concerned with automatic control in its own country.

    The Empress is always elegant and class while staying very conservative. Do not realise they still have to wear mask?

      Now the protocol is arrive with masks and remove them for the event.
      Its a strict law abiding culture, it will take a while before things are back to normal.

      I'm in California and I still wear a mask when going somewhere for the first time or somewhere I haven't been in a long time - and I'm vaccinated and triple boosted! And it's so funny. People will look at me kind of odd at first and then someone will violently sneeze or cough - without covering mouth and nose - and then all of sudden I don't look so odd any more. I'm looking like the smartest person in the room. :-| Now the the cough/sneeze could just be from an allergy or dust or a common cold but, WHO KNOWS?! Better safe than sorry.

    L'impératrice doit toujours aimer cet ensemble bleu roi avec des revers bordés de blanc, couleurs reprises dans le chapeau et la pochette ; elle ne manque pas de sortir les perles de son écrin à bijoux !

    Love the modern design of her earrings, the rest of the Empress looks nice too. I always think she seems approachable and sympathetic, not at all intimidating as some royals dressed in designer labels and dripping with large jewels might be. S.M.

    Am not sure about this outfit in bright colors. Usually she wears such beautiful fabrics, maybe this one looks better in person, I am just not a fan of the vivid blue-white combination.
