Queen Camilla turned 76 today. Queen Camilla, (Camilla Rosemary Shand) was born on July 17, 1947 in London. Today is Camilla's 76th birthday - and is her first one as a Queen. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, she became the Queen Consort as her husband ascended the throne. The Queen supports her husband His Majesty The King, in carrying out his work and duties.
A cette occasion, une photo aurait pu être choisie autre que dans cette robe imprimée portée sous un imperméable ; heureusement que ces boucles d'oreilles à perles la flattent. Bon anniversaire et longue vie à la reine Camilla !

DeleteR.i.P. Lady Di - Queen of the hearts. <3
DeleteLet Diana rest in peace. She has done her duty and lived her life, though it was cut short. Nobody knows how she would have reacted and neither is it relevant because she was already divorced from Charles before her death. What she would have thought would have had no influence. With human beings, because she was taken at the prime of her popularity she is forever immortalized in that beloved state, and it is unfair to compare the living to the dead by projecting a future for the dead.
DeleteI was a Diana fan, but have let her go, because life moves on and I don’t idolize people. We look to and applaud anyone doing good work.

@Anon 20:37 - i agree with most of what you said to let Diana go. However it was still very unfair on Diana, she was an innocent young victim they took to fit the purpose, while Camilla got the butter and the money of the butter. Probably all Charles’ selfishness to blame…. Sorry for this note but same thought has crossed my mind too as Jennifer.

Dear T., you are calling on others to share your views regarding Diana, and to do so on Diana's behalf. Personally I find that presumptuous.
DeleteNor is it about about what Diana thought, but the individual is allowed to think what he wants.
You make it sound as if you are trying to talk people out of the fact that the way Diana was treated from the start with the wedding was a discriminatory one. Unpleasant.
Really surprised about that comment.
DeleteHappy Birthday to Queen Camilla!!! Hoping she has many more!

Sorry but can’t help having a thought to Princess Diana :-(
DeleteI have nothing against Camilla, still, more she is in public eyes, more it reminds us Princess Diana whom life was taking short unfortunately.
DeleteMaddie
Yes, no offence to Camilla but miss Princess Diana. May she RIP.

She has given up what would have been a relaxed old age, in which she could have done as much charitable work privately as she wished, for a constant round of public engagements and as much scrutiny and scathing criticism as praise. I don’t envy her in the least. I think it was completely selfish of Charles to insist on this life for her.
ReplyDeleteFair point.
DeleteShe’s been playing and looking for it so it’s fair she also gets the flip side of it. Next.
DeleteA recent popularity rating by YouGov U.K. for the Royals shows Camilla in N° 7 position with just over 40% of the Brits giving her an approval vote.
DeleteThat leaves almost 60% showing a ‘don’t like’ or neutral vote .

DeleteI agree completely with you.
@Deadeggs : interesting link to the stats 👍
DeleteCongratulations YM. Many happy healthy returns.
ReplyDeleteI must say: I'm very impressed by her. Working this hard at her age, looking great in her own style, keeping her good sense of humour. She didn't have an easy road and she still isn't popular with everyone, but she certainly won me over with her dedication to her work (literature and violence to women in particular) and support to Charles. Hope she celebrates her birthday appropriately. Happy birthday Camilla!
ReplyDeleteLate Queen Elisabeth worked till the end of her life and reign, and she was 20+ years older than Camilla! Not much publicity but Princess Ann also works a lot at her age. Nothing out of ordinary for Camilla here.
DeleteI agree though on her own style and sense of humour.
Happy Birthday to Queen Camilla.
ReplyDeleteChel
A very happy 76th Birthday to Q Camilla. And many more to Celebrate. css
ReplyDeleteI can't call her the Queen as her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was truly a wonderful person, not that Camilla isn't. Camilla was meant to be Queen Consort ;so Charles put his stamp on things. I do like Charles; but there are 2 Charles's one we see out and about, and another his friends see. No; as a mistress you don't have an easy road; interesting(Tabby)
ReplyDeleteTabby, You say it out loud very well something probably lots (quietly) think.
DeleteAnna
100% Agree with you.
DeleteThe man has just been a "naughty boy"
DeleteThe woman is a wicked, sinful person and has to bear all the degrading name that can be thrown at her and sent off to live her life in shame.
My wishes for Camilla to have a happy birthday.
You summarises it perfectly deadeggs 👍
DeleteHappy Birthday Queen Camilla.
ReplyDeleteCamilla has won me over through the years. She is an intelligent woman with an endurance of note. Charles did not love Diane and I think that happens in live. Although pretty, she was not his soul partner. Camilla is. Let’s be happy for them. I enjoy to see that a couple just fit together and strengthen each other.
