Queen Maxima is making a three day visit to Brazil on June 5-7 in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA). The aim of the visit is for the UNSGSA to support and collaborate with public and private sector leaders to bolster progress in inclusive finance in the country. On the first day of her visit, Queen Maxima visited to Santander Bank in Sao Paulo.
NATAN Skirt
It’s not her best look. The top seems too big, and the skirt with its horizontal stripes further enlarges her. For once I think she needs some accessories, maybe an interesting pendant or necklace. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteNice purse! The rest same: bad hair, not a flattering Natan design.
ReplyDeleteLuna
Agree, purse not too bad, the rest is the same, strange Natan clothing making her look larger than normal, odd shoes, yet another bad hair day. No excuse for bad hairstyles, especially for a Queen.
DeleteQuelle belle association du haut avec la jupe même si je trouve qu'elle a trop d'ampleur pour la silhouette de Maxima ; j'aime beaucoup ses chaussures qui reprennent la couleur orange d'une des rayures !
ReplyDeleteHow nice this would have been with 1. some other pair of shoes, and 2. just the other way around as shown in the pictures of the House of Natan, far left - plain skirt and striped top.
ReplyDeleteShapeless Natan and hair that needs styling, again.
ReplyDeleteI cringe looking at that hair, there´s no excuse for the neglect.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the outfit: I like the skirt. I also like the shoes, although I feel that the occasion called for closed business-style shoes. But the top is sooo wrong. The colour is bland and matches neither the shoes nor any colour in the skirt. The materials clash. The shape is too lose and baggy. What she needed was a fitted, even tight, (stretchy knit?) top that balances the bulk of the skirt. And I would have gone for orange to match the shoes.
I admire her, hardworking with a good cause and I love the colorscheme of her clothes! A
ReplyDeleteI like the fresh colors in the skirt but horizontal stripes are not the most flattering. I think Maxima has toned down her heavy blush a bit—looks younger.
ReplyDeleteThis is an unusually shaped flared skirt.
ReplyDeleteIf the flare was necessary as designed, the skirt should be shorter. If it needs to be that length, then it would better less flared.
I also think that for blouse and skirt pairings, one should be fitted if the other is flared, but both should not be flared, like in this outfit. It makes Maxima look bigger as in the 3rd photo.
A thin or medium belt would also look good to define the division between blouse and skirt.

You nailed it. Ladyofthemanor
DeleteYou nailed it! Ladyofthemanor
DeleteAs a representative for your country, I’m sure she can do much better; the shoes, skirt, shoes. Where’s the effort?
ReplyDeleteNice shirt, nice skirt, but an awfull combination,
ReplyDeleteMabel
I wish she had selected a brighter color top for her skirt because this blouse is definitely blah and dull. We all know she can do better than the look she's presenting here--literally from head to toe.
ReplyDeleteJanet
The horizontal stripes Imo are a no. The skirt is not very flattering, it adds bulk. The color of the blouse is okay.
ReplyDeleteIn this special case, the Natan part of her outfit is even better than the non-Natan part. With a nice slim top, I would not mind the skirt. As for the hair, I prefer naturally thin hair worn "as is" to extensions for everyday outings. For me, it is not neglected, it is a natural imperfection she does not seek to hide and this is not a bad example for young women.

I agree but I also understand the comments on the hair. If she would chop the last 1,5 inch, it would look a bit fuller and she'd be just a woman with thin hair. The stringy ends make it look uncared for.
DeleteI like the skirt; the top is too loose and sloppy; she could be a frumpy housewife from the suburbs; not the Queen of the Netherlands, what about the gown and tiaras in Jordan, no respect for the host country here. She would have been better to also buy the top; and team it with an Orange blazer
ReplyDeleteBut Maxima is here for business. It's not a wedding.
DeleteThere is no 'host country' in this situation. Brazil didn't invite the Queen of the Netherlands for a visit. Maxima is there as a representative of the UN to do work for inclusive finance progress in Brazil. She is there as a working woman, not a political or royal figure.

What a beautiful combination of the top with the skirt even if I find that it is a bit too full for her figure. I really like her shoes which take on the orange color of one of the stripes. And she is SO hardworking! Beatrice
ReplyDeleteI think QM is losing her hair. I don’t understand why someone in her position doesn’t get professional help.
ReplyDeleteThe country does not host the Queen of the Netherlands. Queen Maxima is in Brazil as special advocate for the UN. The top could have taken place in any city.
ReplyDeleteAbout her outfit : She is wearing a skirt she has since a long time. The color of the blouse is maybe not the right color, but the shoes are on trend and look good with the skirt. I don't understand all the negative reactions about the shoes anyway. Sometimes I wonder in what countries all these bloggers live ?
She looks tyred and sad. I wonder who can make a good choice in that mood. Maybe some carioca sun will lighten her up and tomorrrow she will look much beter
ReplyDeleteSorry, but why does the Royal lady's keep wearing Natan? I really haven't seen anything that looks good on them.
ReplyDeleteSorry, look at queen Mathilde. She mostly finds the right choice in his collection with very simple models in great colours. Maxima always want to have a lot of fuss in her wardrobe
DeleteQueen Maxima can do much better.
ReplyDeleteBut looks like her priority today is the job, not fashion.
Let’s wait and see what tomorrow brings.
With Maxima, she could present us with a “wow”
It’s the cat and mouse game with Max.
