Sure, these must be 12 cm heels!
A nightmare for someone not used to wearing them...
My only quibble is: how can you catch such a clear glimpse of these pumps from the pics featured here?
This is a matter for experts, believe me.

It's a lovely dress, but it makes Mathilde look older than she is.

  4. Belle allure dans cette robe-chemisier mais il est dommage de ne pas mieux voir les chaussures ; j'adore ses boucles d'oreilles dont le pendant est en quartz rose !

I love the dress on Q.Mathilde. The light, open print is so fresh and summery. I do think she needed a brighter lipstick though. (V.M.)

I live in Brussels and can only admire the Queen for being able to walk in such shoes in this city. I like them a lot. For anyone visiting however - bring flat and the safest shoes possible ;-). (I had to give up on any kind of heels. Pavements and cobble-stone streets in the city centre are frankly dangerous for pedestrians ;-))

I read she walked from the palace to the meeting. Admirable! She looks great but I agree with another commenter saying she needed a brighter lipstick. But overall a great look. She looks so tall in these pictures also (which she is, bit it's more noteable here).

Hehe, lived 6 years in The Netherlands and always wore heels, you do everything on the bike and the real walking is minimum, plus they, the royals, walk only in and out of their cars.
Nevertheless, if visiting indeed bring your flats ;)

Fashion wise, i like the dress, and i applaud that's she is using this "old fashioned" shoes, just a few years back every one had them, what are we supposed to do with those shoes? In good condition and just because they are not the latest trend don't use them every again?
Her using them gives me hope

      Luna,
As you lived 6 years in the Netherlands you will know that Brussels is the capital of Belgium.

@Luna. I don't know but I think cobble stones are something typical for Belgium and especially for the capital of Brussels. I walked on the same spot, Queen Mathilde is walking now because I worked in Brussels during 37 years and not far from the Royal Palace. But the cobble stones are also in the little and narrow streets around the Grand Place in the centre of the city where no cars are allowed. I ruined lots of heels there. I was always glad when heels were getting lower or turned into block heels. It made me save money for my shoe budget.

Beautiful summer dress! Mathilde looks wonderful--the fit is perfect. I don't have any issues with her shoes other than to say I have no idea how anyone walks in such skyhigh heels.

Not sure of the pattern of the dress, however the Queen looks lovely, even though she needed a different pair of shoes.

Beautiful summer dress. I think she should have stuck to the white belt or no belt. This one emphasises her short waistedness.

Q Mathilde looks stunning. She should wear Erdem more often. css

  11. This is a beautiful summer dress. The patterning of the fabric and colors are gorgeous. She looks very elegant. From what I can see, the shoes are open toe, these I don't like.

      Hello, Ava.
I'm m trying to find out what kind of shoes Q.Mathilde is wearing in these pics.
I am not sure they are open toes pumps.
The dress is lovely and Mathilde is always so beautiful and classy!

I have tried 2 or 3 times to give you an answer about the shoes but my comments are each time not published. I am not going to try again. I can only recommend you to look at the Belgian websites about the Royal Family. There is a picture of the shoes and a description.

    3. Hi P the original. Okay thank you for that. It will be interesting to see whether they are or not, I had a look, no luck (briefly) Hope all is well with you and yours. Hugs

In agreement with the majority here. Great dress, fits well, dislike the peep toe shoes. I think she needs a bit of lipstick as well.
