On June 1, 2023, Queen Camilla visited The British Racing School in Newmarket to mark their 40th anniversary. The British Racing School is one of the two racing schools in the United Kingdom. Established in 1983, it is a charitable trust providing training for young people working in the horse racing industry. The school is a purpose built training centre on the outskirts of Newmarket, the headquarters of British horseracing.
I am sorry to say this, but this lady needs help with her clothes. You can't dress worse than this . Irene
ReplyDeleteOf course she could - what an exaggeration.
DeleteBad coordination Camilla. Light blue jacket, green dress and beige shoes.
ReplyDeleteI think the blue of the blazer is on the pattern of the skirt.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful jacket in a lovely colour. Very well taylored. Quite new model for Camilla. Unfortunately the skirt is not such a good choice imv. It looks very old fashioned. A skirt in the same colour as the jacket would have been much nicer.
ReplyDeleteA refreshingly different look for Camilla 👍 — Jane
ReplyDeleteJane, you have got to be kidding. Are you on her PR staff?
DeleteWhat an unnecessary comment Virginia - can't you disagree without insulting another poster?
DeleteÀ lovely jacket in the right length for the wide skirt from the dress.
ReplyDeleteGreen and light blue are a good colour combination,
Mabel
I think this is better than her usual uniform. At least it is different and heading in the right direction. I think the jacket is too fussy for what looks like a shirt dress. A more simple design would have looked more coordinated than a jacket that looks like it was borrow from a suit. I like the idea of a jacket picking up a color in the dress. The contrast is refreshing and visually suggests a waistline. Maybe she'll get there yet.
ReplyDeleteI am not very good at describing fashion in detail but I can say that this look is terribly stuffy. The pale blue jacket has strange details and cuts her body in half, the skirt is too short and the shoes are ugly. She is the Queen Consort and we do expect her to dress more elegantly. Queen Silvia and Queen Sonia look so much better and are in the same age group.

I am not known for defending Camilla's fashion, for obvious reasons, but how much longer do you think that dress should have been? It is decently below her knees now.
DeleteYes, her shoes are unattractive. Camilla does not have a strong shoe game.
@ Virginia. The same age group as Q Silvia and Q Sonia. These ladies are at least 10 years older than Q Camilla and are dressed classic but young too. QC is dressed mostly like someone who never learned which colors go together and which jackets to wear with what kind of dresses. I remember this dress from last summer, it looks like an apron.
Delete@Virgina. I see things globally and miss a lot on the detail.
DeleteBUT, if you want to see fashion commented in detail, then have a look at @Tulipe 33’s postings. She has a wonderful eye for detail and she can always find something positive to say, even if it is a disaster (good morning dear Max).
Plus she gives lots of detail on jewellery.
Beautifully tailored jacket, lovely pale blue color. The dress must have flecks of blue, hence explaining the color of her jacket.
ReplyDeleteNice jacket in style and color for Camilla but not with that dress.
ReplyDeleteAva
The jacket is part of a suit that she has worn before. Like this on a floral dress is not a succes. Had she worn it over a cream or other plain coloured skirt and camisole or other type of blouse where the jacket neck was not cluttred up with bits and pieces of the dress showing I think it might have looked very nice.
ReplyDeleteCamilla is in her element here. Horses, hounds and the smell of the stables.
ReplyDeleteShe looks to be so happy being out of the Palace/s.
Perfect occasion for wearing her boots and giving them an outing.
I think we’re seeing a fashion category being created which might be called, “very Camilla”
Just as we have a fashion category in NewMyRoyals called “very Maxima”😁
With all respect I prefer Maxima's style than Camilla's.
DeleteCamilla is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's June 1st not April 1st.
Delete😁😀🤣
DeleteI quite like it. The colour of the blazer can also be found in the skirt (more like a hidden feature, I'd say). I think one has to see it in real. The pictures seem to not get it right. On the fence where the shoes are concerned.
ReplyDeleteNice outfit for Q Camilla. wonder if she has a carotte for the horse. css
ReplyDeleteDear Deadeggs, I ALWAYS read Tulipe’s comments and admire that she
ReplyDeletealways has something positive to say. I like the way she goes into tiny details.
I respect Camilla’s lack of vanity and therefore don’t even like criticising her, but the above look is simply too dowdy. For me it is not about looking “younger”, whatever that means, but fresher, more elegant, like Queen Sonia and Queen Silvia or even Queen Margrethe (who is very tall and difficult to dress).
🌞 Virginia
