I agree. She should have removed the dangly parts from the earrings.

Any idea about the jewels? I have the impression they are new.

They are lovely, aren’t they? They’re part of the Dutch Sapphire Parure. The first pieces of the parure were commissioned in 1881 by HM King Willem III of the Netherlands. Some pieces have been reconfigured and others added but they’re all antiques. The trellis necklace Q. Maxima is wearing was made in 1900. Anya

The jewels are not new. They are from the royal collection. Maxima wore the tiara 13 years ago and after that never again until yesterday.

Stunning. Max knows when - and how - to hit it out of the ball park and here she has done it again! The dress colours are gorgeous, and the jewellery is out of this world. Best of all, it does not look over-powering, considering she has worn the full parure; the tiara is nice and low, so allowing the other pieces their rightful share of attention.

  8. The Queen looks sensational. Beautiful Navy gown, fits well, love the design of this one. Her jewels, she has taken to a whole level. The Sapphire and diamond bracelets on both wrists are gorgeous. The tiara is beautiful, but the necklace, simply splendid. The earrings are exceptionally gorgeous. Love the small dark blue clutch. Her makeup is on point and her hair up looks divine. She really looks the epitome of elegance and beauty.

I like Queen Maxima in this gala dress of 2016. It is designed for her by Claes Iversen. He made other lovely coats and dresses for her. Her jewelry is stunning.
