Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Saudi Rajwa Al Saif married at Zahran Palace. Many royals and foreign dignitaries attended the wedding which is Jordan’s first major royal wedding in years. Rajwa Al Saif (Now, Princess Rajwa) was born in Riyadh on April 28, 1994. Princess Rajwa wore a wedding dress designed by Lebanese designer Elie Saab.
King Philippe and Princess Elisabeth, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi attended the wedding ceremony.
King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, Prince Alois and Princess Sophie, Queen Jetsun Pema, Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu, Princess Hisako and Princess Tsuguko were among other royals who were present at the wedding.
Beautiful dress of the bride, gorgeous dress Catherine, but a black dress of queen Rania on the wedding of her son seems not very tasteful to me imo
ReplyDeleteWow! the bride looks absolutely Gorgeous, stunning! It would be nice to see her side of the family, am surprised her brother-in-law walked her down the aisle.
DeleteAll the guests dressed according to culture. Ones that stand out are Princess Beatrice (thou dress is close to white), Princess of Wales has too much cover up from neck to full length of arms. Elisabeth of Belgium looking beautiful as well.
Rajwa should have worn low heels, flats ruin a glam dress

I was distracted by the flat shoes, especially because of the sheath style of the dress. I think they also had a strap, which to me made them look like shoes for a child-Joanne
DeleteAt first glance, I didn’t like the bridal dress. But the more I see from it, especially videos, I can spot the beauty and craftsmanship of the gown. The silhouette this gown creates is just breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteThe new crown princess looks fabulous and quite confident. She has a wonderful supportive mother in law who will go the extra mile to help her adapt to her new role.
I wasn’t a big fan of Rajwa to begin with, I can’t even explain why. But I’ve really grown to like this young courageous woman and the smile of happiness in her grooms face is credit to her.
The guests look splendid, the Princess of Wales Iooks simply fantastic and Crown princess Elisabeth is just eye candy in this fuchsia dream. Victoria is her usual flowery self and Beatrice isn’t disappointing, kudos to her stylist. Or italian husband, whatever. :-)
All the best to the newlyweds!
Sissy
Beautiful dress of the bride except for the neckline. The brides' veil looks stunning. Kate and Beatrice gorgeous. Elisabeth of België top colour but I have a bit enough of those capes. Maxima is rewearing an old dress which is veryvromantic but I learned that her decolleté was not appropriate for an islamitische wedding. Miss Letizia at these photos
ReplyDeleteThis must have been a wonderful ceremony with a happy bride and bridegroom. "Daily mail" described Catherine as an "english rose" and I think it's true. She wears a beautiful dress in a wonderful colour, also her hair looks elegant.
ReplyDeleteShe maybe the most famous guest but i think her style is over rated on this occasion. So many other ladies' dresses stood out including Princess Beatrice, Queen Sofia and Princess Elisabeth
DeleteAgree with you Missy. People over rate Kate way too much. Lots of splendid gowns and other guests in this event. The bride is beautiful, love the pic of the happy groom and bride looking at each other.

What an absolute delight to watch this from beginning to end. Like lingering for a little while in an oasis of beauty and goodwill. — Jane
ReplyDeleteAgreed. It has to be the most beautiful wedding I've seen in the 2020s. And just loved how happy everyone was.
DeleteT
Oooh, there's a lot of good stuff happening here! Everybody looks great - the minor quibbles are all down to my personal taste, not the looks themselves.
ReplyDeleteThe bride looks radiant! Love the tiara and the embroidered train. I have to admit that this isn't a dress that's on top of my bridal looks. Not a fan of the asymmetric neckline and the folds read "towel" for me at a first glance. But since she's so tall and slim, the draping ends up looking sculptural on her instead of messy - it's clearly well tailored. Rania's look is surprisingly underwhelming. Is it customary for the mother of the groom to wear black? Obviously she looks great and it's an impeccably designed dress, but after her outfits recently, this feels... plain?
I love Beatrice's dress and it suits her so well! I wonder if it might be a tad too light for a wedding, but maybe it looks less white in real life. Either way, she looks lovely. As does the Princess of Wales. Beautifully chosen gown - it looks exactly like something Rania would normally wear and I love that she went bold on the earrings! For once, I also think her voluminous hair really suits the occasion.
Another winner is Princess Elisabeth. The pink gown is stunning. Just right for her age, the cape adds some drama and it's a fantastic pop of colour in the sea of pastels. Love it!
Not much to report for Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands - florals for spring - groundbreaking! ;) I'd say they're all a safe bet. So congrats to Spain's Sofia for bringing a bit of shine and glamour to the party!
Hope we get more close-ups and official pictures later on!
-Nika-
I think Ranias dress is navy, not black.
DeleteNika, I was thinking the same thing about Princess Kate's dress...looks like something Queen Rania would wear. I love the dress. The details are beautiful, the color looks great on Kate, and overall, it's a winner. Annette
DeleteWhat an amazing dress the bride had on.. To me it was truly the best wedding dress of the last 2 decades for royals. She is a strange, but interesting beauty.
ReplyDeleteWow - what a gorgeous wedding dress - it definitely feels original. Stunning. Love the Princess of Wales' dress as well
ReplyDeleteExactly my thought about the bridal dress.
DeleteBeautiful dress and stunning train. Love the draping and asymmetry! The tiara is beautiful but I wish the veil had been attached to the tiara.
ReplyDeleteI hope we will see more and better pictures of the guests. First glance of CP Victoria doesn't look good. Grandmas nightie? I think we have seen CP Mary's dress before and it looked ok..
Princess Elisabeth of Belgium looks fabulous in fuchsia. Beatrice silvery dress is beautiful. The salmon coloured dress of Princess of Wales is too pale, like old underwear.
Ladyofthemanor
Now that I have seen better pictures, Kate's dress has stunning details. Such craftsmanship. I still don't like the color but it is a beautiful dress. I wish I had not seen the bottom of Beatrice's dress. Don't like the ruffles.
DeleteMy only quibble is, like you said, the veil needs to attach to the tiara, but that's just minor, otherwise I think she's so stunning and sophisticated.
DeletePrincess Kate's dress is by Elie Saab.
Delete👍 to ladyofthemanor’s comment.
DeleteNo such person as Princess Kate...
DeleteBeautiful couple
ReplyDeleteEine zauberhafte Braut in einem Kleid, was ihre Figur vorteilhaft zur Geltung bringt. Die Gäste: Ein Outfit schöner wie das andere.
ReplyDeleteIch stimme völlich zu.
DeleteThe Bride/ the gown had a perfect fit. I prefer the view from the rear. Glorious!
ReplyDeleteThe Princess of Wales-beautiful color! For once I don't mind that her hair is loose instead of up. She looks amazing!
Princess Beatrice-not sure about the bow in her hair but her shimmering gown is so lovely. I've said it before...she has the most elegant husband in all the Royal families
Princess Elisabeth- Her hair is so-so but she looks gorgeous in that color! Perfect ambassador for Royal Family and the Belgians
My favourite would be Princess Elisabeth. Her flowy vibrant dress was best captured when she went up the stairs, it gave very regal vibe for the future Queen. I did guessed well that she probably will have a half updo and she did! I do agree with you about her being the perfect ambassador for the Belgian Royal Family.
DeleteIt seems you forgot King Phillippe. He was there also to represent his country.
DeleteThe most elegant is Sofia of Spain (apart from Rania who has a beautiful dress and jewellery here). Irene
ReplyDeleteI agree!! She is wearing the most elegant dress. So pretty!! And I love P. Beatrice's dress too.
Deletei thought so too. i wish she would give her dress to one of the younger guests, it would have got more attention.
DeleteRajwa's gown is stunning! She made a gorgeous bride.
ReplyDeleteKnowing we should see better pictures later, I'll refrain from comments on the guest's wedding attire, except to say that Kate's dress is terribly fussy. I'm surprised she wasn't in a more simple and sophisticated gown given her more polished look since becoming POW.
I agree. Rahwa is stunning and sophisticated. Also Kate's dress is just too fussy and matronly.
DeleteSame thought for me (@anon 20:32 and 00:58)

Wowser!
ReplyDeletePrincess Rajwa is the epitome of understated grace and simplicity, and therefore absolutely stunning, and very admirable, in my books considering what she could have opted for. Most likely in keeping with strict Saudi tradition, her dress was modest but not without style (the asymmetrical neckline is lovely) and the drapery over her beautiful figure was more than adequate embellishment in a modest way. And if anyone still needs more, then just look at her train and the embroidery there. Elie Saab is wonderful here, in sharp contrast to one of his other recent bridal creations.
CP Hussein makes a very dashing groom in his military uniform, and together, they make a very handsome couple. I'm very happy for them. I congratulate them and wish them much joy.
As for Queen Rania and the other royal guests, I need more time (and some better photos which I'm sure will be forthcoming) to take it all in, before I can comment on their outfits. (But I'll say this: I love Beatrice's gown!) It is so nice to see them all interacting, laughing and smiling with King Abdullah and Queen Rania, and with the happy couple. Lovely to see so many CPs attending who will in all likelihood be reigning monarchs at the time the new couple ascend their throne. I can just imagine what the reception/celebration/banquet will be like tonight. Can't wait to see more photos, both here and on the web.

Beatrice's gown is from 'Needle & Thread", Catherine's is also Elie Saab, and Rania's is from the House of Dior.
Delete- Anon 9:13
Love the bride's dress, so elegant and the train is divine 😍 the reception dress... Not so much. Basically a cake or a Bride Barbie that little girls would love 😬
ReplyDeleteThis has been as opulent as expected. There's more to come because the evening reception at Al Husseiniya Palace was a white tie event with tiaras! For the first time ever I saw Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan wear such a sparkler, albeit one of the smaller kind. If I am not mistaken Princess Beatrice was wearing the York Tiara. The Princess of Wales in her trusted Queen Mary's Lovers Knot. CP Mary came wearing her Spinell Necklace Tiara. All did look absolutely splendid! And the bride in yet another spectacular second wedding dress, with opera length gloves. Very princess-y. As for the afternoon wedding ceremony everyone looked so polished, too, but the bride shone over them all. Elie Saab did a fantastic job here and his tayloring is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteThis wedding was all you could of hoped for. The couple happiness was palpable!
ReplyDeletePrincess Rajwa I thought looked spectacular. She has both the height & figure to wear it well, and she did. The train was sublime
HM Queen Rania I don’t understand the black. But Dior carved out a beautiful gown and she was like poetry in motion.
Fashion wise. High five to our royal ladies for showing the correct respect that is needed in the dress code.
Catherine blew me away. The hair makeup & oh those big gun earrings. She was a vision. Eli Saab is a gifted artist. Her dress from his 2017 collection I believe, ticked all the boxes. Cannot wait to see what tonight will have in store.
Beatrice since marrying has found her style mojo. She looked stunning. The added black band gave the dress some structure. Her hubby looked dashing.
The Scandinavian ladies never let the side down.
CP Mary wore the only decent Erdem dress ever made. She wore that dress originally for Norways King&Queens 80th birthday celebration. She looks as fantastic in it today as she did then.
Victoria was in Malia and it looked lovely.
What a feast for the eyes today has been. With the state dinner tonight we have our royal ladies in tiaras! Bea
I think this is a lovely bride in a perfect mixture of modern and classic style dress.
ReplyDeleteJust to mention a few of the royal guests:
Beatrice: lovely dress and hairdo, and so happy!( frizzles a minor minus..)
Elisabeth of Belgium: gorgeous
All the Asian princesses: so dignified and beautifull
Kate: oh, what abeautifull dress ( also Eli Saab who is from Jordan)
Mary: lovely
Queen Maxima: no no no, for the inappropriate dress as well as the curls.
The surroundings: top, fairytale wedding,
May they live happily ever after!
Mabel
Sorry, my mistake: Eli Saab is from Libanon
DeleteM
A very beautiful wedding dress indeed, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI have mixed opinions about the royal ladies outfits. The Princess of Wales would look perfect if the colour of the dress wasn't so pale. Vice-versa for CP Elizabeth - perfect cut, too much colour.
As for the "flower ladies", only Beatrice and CP Mary look nice. CP Victoria's dress looks like a night gown.
You are wrong about the color of CP Elisabeth's (with an "s" instead of a "z"). Since she has a very fair skin all the stylists recommend strong colors. Princess Catherine's dress by Elie Saab is gorgeous and not too pale. She is a brunette and her skin is a bit toned. In fact this dress is very appropriate for a wedding in an Islamic country.
DeleteUn vestido precioso, super elegante. No me gusta que Rania vaya de negro.¿ Es costumbre en su país?
ReplyDeleteLa mariée ainsi que la princesse de Galles sont magnifiques ; toutes mes félicitations à Elie Saab !
ReplyDeleteThe Brides veil is beautiful. Her gown, I don't like. She looks stunning, her gown is streamlined and elegant, but features of her gown don't appeal to me, regardless of my tastes she looked beautiful and radiant.
ReplyDeleteQueen Maxima looked outstanding.
Catherine looked fabulous, love her outfit and color, beautiful.
Pss Beatrice looks lovely, but I don't like her gown, more mature looking, but she looks stunning.
CP Mary wearing a rewear and its a beautiful gown.
Queen Rania looks beautiful, not sure of the black color.
The view from behind is staggeringly beautiful, but somehow doesn't match with the streamlined view from the front if that makes any sense.
DeleteI had the same impression of the dress,it was as if two different dresses had been combined into one. From the back it was beautiful, from the front it looked like a long sheath dress. And the flat shoes made it look worse.Disappointing especially after the gorgeous henna party gown and veil-Joanne
DeleteThe bride looked beautiful, just wish her veil was properly attached to her tiara, the gap looks a tad strange. Princess of Wales, absolutely stunning, colour, fit and style of dress just beautiful. Princess Beatrice I loved also, the soft grey on her is elegant and I like the style. CPM a little fussy I thought, not keen on the whole patterned dress and colour combinations. Queen Maxima looked nice but not noteworthy. If there's an evening event I can't wait to see photos. Queen Rania's dress I liked but thought it interesting she wore black.
ReplyDelete~ Peonies
Everyone literally everyone is dressed beautifully.
ReplyDeleteAva
What a beautiful bride and handsome groom! I love the wedding dress--it is so elegant yet very simple. Rania looked stunning as always. I love all of the gowns of the other royal ladies too. Beatiful colors for a late spring wedding. The only oops might be Maxima's decolletage--I would think for a Muslim wedding she would have worn a gown with that covered more (not that her neckline is too revealing but this is an Islamic ceremony in an Islamic country). Beatrice and Edo attending surprised me but she looks fabulous and I love her hair. The craftmanship on Catherine's gown is stunning--as is she. I would love to see Mary's hair from the back--she appears to be wearing something in her hair that I would like to see better. Mary's gown is a repeat from other occasions and she looks lovely as does Victoria in her pretty floral gown. Hope to see more photos!!!
ReplyDeleteJanet
Mary has a bow and a long ribbon in her hair. Beatrice does as well.
Delete- Anon 9:13
Some absolutely stunning outfits to be sure. My favorites are Princess Beatrice, Princess Mary and Princess Elisabeth - stunnning color. The bride truly shines and is a true beauty. Almost didn't recognize Catherine in the first picture and not too impressive.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress. It was love at first sight for me. Modern. Modest. Simple. And Rajwa wore flats. I hope this sets the trend that brides don't have to wear sky high heels at their wedding. I thought Rania's black dress was beautiful. Lovely wedding.
ReplyDeleteIs that a new tiara?
ReplyDeleteNew tiara and earrings.
DeleteI feel like I'm a candy store! So many details, styles to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteMany wow, but particularly the Japanese ladies looking wonderful out of their conservative style.
Luna
The bride's dress is beautiful, but...
ReplyDeleteI wonder that a Muslim bride wears so western style (Christian) bridal dress?
asks Margot
Having attended a few such weddings, I can attest that modern muslim brides have been wearing Western style, white wedding gowns for decades. It is their choice, depending how religious they are. Don't forget that many parts of the ME such as Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, etc. are also partly Christian, so the fashion influence is a mix within the region.

Why isn’t queen Rania wearing lower heeled shoes ? She is towering over her husband !!
ReplyDeleteThe king is adores her and doesn’t mind that she is taller than he is so why should you or anyone else? Should Rania hunch over, crouch down and wear flats to make her smaller than the king just to satisfy the ridiculous notion that a wife should be shorter than her husband? Rajwa is also taller than Hussein…maybe she should walk on her ankles so she will be shorter?
DeleteThe last two wives of his late Majesty King Hussein(Queen Alia, Queen Noor) were taller than he was. A happy man, secure and in love couldn't care less. In fact shorter men are often quite proud to have tall wives.
DeleteOne could say he is more secure than Charles was when he was with Diana.
DeleteThe bride has the most beautiful dress, I expect nothing less in the future.
ReplyDeleteShe and Rania rivaling?
Todays winner is Rajwa and that on her most important day!!
Holy cannoli, why on earth would you wearing a dress with a high funeral feel on the wedding of your own child? The embroidering part is ok but better use warm yellow or a nice green instead of the black.
The bride is taller than the groom and is wearing flats.
Wearing heels is common in the family and I know KA does so why not his son?
The garden looks like paradise and the palace a inside-fairy tale.
May they live long and happily ever after.
-Anna-
I remember when I was young in the 60tees mothers of the bride or the groom always wore dark colored gowns. It was chic in those days. It was often navy, dark brown, dark green, etc... Of course now it is something we do not see anymore at weddings, at least not in my country and not in other West European countries either I think.
DeleteBlack is considered a formal color as well, not just a color of sorrow. It is a go-to color for many people for many occasions. There is nothing wrong with Rania wearing black. There is nothing to read into here. Why the speculation?
DeleteVictoria and Kate best dressed!
ReplyDeleteThe bride’s dress, I adore. (dress for the wedding ceremony).
ReplyDeleteThe craftsmanship is excellent and impressive. (or craftwomanship).
Plus it is shown off in all its beauty by a beautiful young woman on her wedding day
The brides gown was classy, beautiful, and stunning. All the ladies looked lovely except Maxima wore a (lovely) but inappropriate low cut dress to a wedding in a country where the women are covered and not showing cleavage. Beatrice's gown was a little to fru-fru at the bottom and a little too short. Lower heeled shoes would have solved the length issue.
ReplyDeleteEveryone shown in these pics, just grand. Could not been better, css
ReplyDeleteWell the wedding dresss has a bit of a bandage wrap effect;not nice.I like Beatrice's dresss, not sure about Mary and Victoria the patterns are a bit;needed more jewells on the Princesses, remembering this is a Royal occassion. The nightie dresses of Kate and Maxima are interesting,I
ReplyDeletedo like some of the bright colours of the dresses.I do like the open top landrover.Interesting couple;I'll do the maths(Tabby)
