On May 4, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain held an official reception for President of Colombia Gustavo Francisco Petro and his wife Veronica Alcocer. The reception took place at the Royal Palace of El Pardo in Madrid. The President and First Lady are on a state visit to Spain. On Saturday, the King and Queen will attend King Charles' coronation in London.
Pure elegance
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. Especially not about the colourful dress of the Colombian first lady. Although I know that this combination of colours is quite fashionable today.

Oh yes I agree. The dress fits the first lady very well, I admit the contrast with the queen is very strong.
DeleteP.E.R.F.E.C.T.I.O.N!
DeleteI like that Madam Alcocer is giving us an insight into some of Colombia’s fashion flair.
DeleteNice to see what happens with designers and their products in other countries.
I’ve read (Vogue Magazine) that Colombia has become the fashion hub for Latin America thanks to the many talented Colombian designers, some of whom have an international reputation.
Certainly a culture for tropical fashion and beachwear.
A look at some of these designers and the work they do can be seen via ………

I was talking about the Queen
DeleteHow is anyone supposed to know that if you don't say so in your original comment?
DeleteLetizia looks elegant as always. Maybe a red shoe would have provide a splash of colour. The First Lady.... No.... Prom dress getting everything wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe First Lady is representing her country well. The Colombian colors of the flag are blue, red and yellow and interestingly enough it represents the independence from Spain. :) I think she is dressed for representing the Columbian people not so much for an international audience. She seems very confident in wearing the colorful outfit which is very much in line with traditional Columbians wear.
DeleteThe Colombian flag is yellow, dark blue and red NOT lilac, orange and teal. she needs a stylist.
DeleteThe two ladies are not at the same party. Q Letizia looks lovely. Love the gold shoes with slingback.

Queen Letizia always elegant. for any occasion. First lady of Colombia is going for the circus.
DeleteLetizia looks fine. The First Lady looks like she is a member of a dancing troupe.

First lady looks clownish.
ReplyDeleteWith all due respects @ Anon14:20 and @Anon 9:13, please take a look at the Latin American fashion scene. It’s far from being clownish or part of a dancing troupe.
DeleteEasy to access via Google and a couple of taps on your keyboard.
Leti looks elegant and her hair is lovely. All I will say about the First Lady’s dress is that it is very colorful!
ReplyDeleteBelle association de couleurs chez la première dame qui constrastent avec la robe de Letizia ; ses chaussures dorées à la bride arrière sont superbes ; j'adore !
ReplyDelete@15:58, so they only color that could be associated (approximately) with the flag is the blue, I truly don’t see the equivalence. I disagree that this outfit is what Colombians wear, again all it can be said is that it’s colorful and that’s about it.

The Queen seems to have tanned a great deal within the last couple of weeks. I like the first lady's outfit, reminds me of something Queen Maxima would wear.
ReplyDeleteYes, understandably, Queen Maxima is from a Latin American country .
DeleteWell all I can say is that if I were the First Lady and I walked into the room and saw Q. Letizia, I would be cursing my stylist BIG TIME!! But all you can do is put a smile on your face and carry on and I guess that's what she did!!
ReplyDeleteQueen Letizia looks great as always, simple and elegant. The Colombian lady not so much, Maxima's vibes!
ReplyDeleteQueen Letizia is just the epitome of elegance. Sje just oozes glamor (even when dressed more casually). Love the gold shoes here, just a touch of flash. As for the First Lady, I give her props for representing her country. It's not my style, but I'm not Colombian.

I think both ladies look lovely and faithful to their individual styles. I actually think the stark contrast in the two outfits makes both look good as they are two extremes.
ReplyDeleteI love the black dress combined with the gold shoes, the Queen looks beautiful
