On May 26, 2023, Queen Silvia of Sweden became an honorary citizen of Heidelberg city in south of Germany, the place where she was born. "It is a great elation for me to be honoured in this way by the city where I was born, Heidelberg," the Queen said at the ceremony held at the city hall. The Queen received the city's highest honor for her achievements and outstanding social commitment.
Queen Silvia of Sweden received the certificate of honorary citizenship from Eckart Würzner, Lord Mayor of the City of Heidelberg, during the ceremony at the city hall.
This year, The German Swedish Society (DSG) celebrates its 50th anniversary and on this occasion, it held a charity event on May 27 for the benefit of The World Childhood Foundation Germany, which was founded by Queen Silvia. Queen Silvia is also patron of The German Swedish Society (DSG).
This is sooooo sweet. My Queen 😍
ReplyDeleteAnd once again a lovely outfit.
I agree.
DeleteTrès belle veste imprimée que la Reine a su associer à une jupe droite gris clair ou vert amande ? J'adore sa coiffure avec les cheveux plus longs !
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see her in our alten Heimat. And she said the famous words „ich hab mein Herz in Heidelberg verloren… e.
ReplyDeleteHabe ich auch gehört in ihrer Rede. Bin doch ein bißchen gerührt.
DeleteYes, and she is and stays so beautiful!
DeleteBeautiful ensemble.
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia is amongst the small group of royal ladies who have class.
You’ve either got it or you ain’t.
Absolutely!
DeleteMy sentiments exactly.

Her ladylike jackets are usually admirable and perfect, this one is no exception. And also a good example, how standing above fashion, in the sense of: not adapting the last fashion in jackets, can be so beautiful.

This jacket is a piece of art, very beautiful. I find the brooch unnecessary. Those magnificent pearls are enough.

How lovely for her to be recognised in this way. And she looks as smart as always.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice gesture. Heidelberg is always her home. She looks radiant and elegant. Congratulation YM. css
ReplyDeleteShe always gets it right.
ReplyDeleteAnd can I just say, for a 79 year old woman her hair is so shiny and luxurious. I wish I knew her secret, or at least what hair products she uses!
Good stylist, and hair dye.
DeleteThis is a very pretty feminine ensemble; the jacket is sublime. Her jackets always fit beautifully. Love the pearl necklace, stunning.
ReplyDeleteThe art of the jacket is lovely. Always classy Queen. Agnes
