On May 23, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands launced the new education program "More Art and Culture in School and Environment" at Kindcentrum O3 Elementary School in the Hague. The Queen is honorary president of the project "More Music in the Classroom". Queen Maxima's new outfit is from the fashion house Natan.
Through this program, The More Music in the Classrom Foundation and The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) broadens their collaboration with the objective to promote cultural offerings at and after school and to improve equality of opportunity in the Dutch education system.
Hm we have now the choice between this orange suit (or jumpsuit) and the one recently worn by Mathilde, I go for the latter one. The sleeves are my main point in the choice.
ReplyDeleteA mon humble avis, cet ensemble orange vif pourrait mieux lui convenir sans avoir les manches aussi longues et larges ; bien belle quand même !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour for Maxima !! The only thing left to improve is a better bra imo
ReplyDeleteI like this colour on Maxima. Think she looks quite good.
ReplyDeleteFirstly let me say, that having watched a 15 minute video of this event online yesterday, which showed this outfit on Maxima (Natan Couture) in all kinds of winds and movement as she visited many outdoor exhibits and interacted warmly with the children, that these photos do not do full justice to how it looks on her, nor to the beautiful, rich, orange colour of the fabric.
ReplyDeleteThe bat-wing sleeve design is unusual (per Natan style) when you see the outfit from behind as in the video, but Maxima's bold confidence makes it work. She "owns" the outfit, and the colour suits her. (The only other Royal whose height would be able to carry this outfit this is Mathilde, and orange looks good on her too.)

@Anon 9:13 - Yes queen Mathilde could wear it too, but she has already an orange pant suit (worn on Sunday 21st May). Queen Mathilde has hers since 2020 and she has worn it several times since then. Queen Maxima's suit is new which explain also the difference in sleeves and neckline.
DeleteThis is a very orange outfit, a color she can wear. However the style is not good. Wide legs and wide sleeves tightly tied together with a sash is just a lot of fabric. Too much in my view. Without the sash it would have been more of a flowing kaftan look that I find would suite her well.

@ Lady of the manor. The style of this pantsuit is very good and it suits Queen Maxima very well. A lot of fabric is high fashion these days. It is true that only tall women can wear this style. Orange and pink are the 2 colors which are fashion during Spring and Summer 2023. There are fabrics which combine the 2 colors in a geometric design. These are also the colors both QM's (Maxima and Mathilde) can wear because they are tall and are not afraid to try something new and extraordinary.
DeleteA definite win for Maxima. The color is gorgeous on her.

The color of this outfit is glorious. The pantsuit looks splendid, I particularly love the unusual bat wing sleeves, she has the natural flair to wear this well. She is wonderful her visit as always was filled with laughter, fun and so engaging.
ReplyDeleteHard at work.I like this outfit. css
ReplyDeleteYou know, there’s something I like about this outfit. It’s not a “wow” but I think it gets an above average score.
ReplyDeleteBut Maxima gets a top score for the work she is doing and for giving the kids a chance to see in person the Queen of their country.
The outfit is just 'ok', though there seems to be a lot more fabric than is needed. Too bad she did not wear her hair in a low pony tail, would have made the issue with wind and straggly hair not an issue. Edwina
