On the evening of May 5, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima along with Prime Minister Rutte attended 2023 Liberation Day concert given as part of the national celebrations of the country's liberation. The concert traditionally took place on and around the Amstel in front of the Royal Theater Carré just like every year.
In the country, Liberation Day (Bevrijdingsdag) is annually celebrated on May 5 to celebrate the end of the occupation by Nazi Germany during the World War II. The theme of all commemorations and celebrations this year is 'Leven met oorlog'.

ReplyDeleteI've seen more photos of this event on other blogs and video clips and Maxima looks fantastic! This colour matches the warmth her personality always radiates. She also looks wonderful in white at the coronation of King Charles III. I'm surprised that they managed to attend both events, but good for them.
