On May 4, Crown Princess Mary attended the Home Guard's parade at Kastellet. The silent commemoration took place just like every year on the occasion of the anniversary of Denmark's liberation from the German occupying power in 1945. The Home Guard originates from the resistance movement during World War II and consists of adult citizens of all ages from all over Denmark.
The Crown Princess has been involved in the defense organization since 2008 and at the evening ceremony, she was appointed major à la suite. Over the years, the Crown Princess has participated in a large number of activities, exercises and training courses as a member of the Home Guard at the Army, Marine and Air Home Guards.
She looks as good in an army uniform as in her elegant dress.

CP Mary looks great in her polka dot dress (love the butterfly brooch), and in her military garb. However, the wallpaper in the first series of pictures have my head spinning :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Herrera dress that we have seen before and it suits her well.

The polka dot dress is very pretty and suits Mary. But those walls…yikes…the patterns can trigger a migraine!

Well, the military is sometimes necessary - whether you understand it or not. Or would you like to be defenseless? It shouldn't be used to attack a country, a group of people or individuals - as we have seen and continue to see - unfortunately. The world quite obviously isn't a place of only peace-loving people!

Well said. I'm hoping that some day soon the people of Ukraine will be able to have ceremonies like this to commemorate their successful defense of their country.
DeleteWell as they say, you could dress Mary in a potato sack and she could make it look like couture. Here she is wearing two extremes and she looks amazing in both.
